Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

PrincessConsuelaBH · 12/10/2020 21:09

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

Monday is fine for me too.
Starting weight 52.4kilos.

PurpleDaisies · 16/10/2020 08:36

A Monday weigh in might help with weekend over indulgences!
I’ve got a couple of gym classes booked this morning and went to yoga yesterday so I think things will be going in the right direction for me, or a least not gaining any more.

HaggisBurger · 16/10/2020 08:38

Monday sounds good!!!

Malachite234 · 16/10/2020 08:43

Me too! About 15 lbs to lose too.

PurpleDaisies · 16/10/2020 09:04

What’s everyone got on their plate (literally) today? I like the inspiration.

I’ve had houmous and pine nuts on seeded bread toast.

Greek type leftovers for lunch (no feta Greek salad, posh olives, home made green beans and tomato fasolakia which is so much more delicious than it sounds and possibly a flatbread if I can be bothered to make them).

Dinner is a veggie goulash.

PrincessConsuelaBH · 16/10/2020 09:05

Great! I've started the list, will put it on here at dinner time Smile

DH kindly brought me breakfast in bed this morning - crumpets and a glass of fresh of fresh orange juice. Not what I was going to eat today BUT I haven't told him I'm trying to get back on the weight loss wagon (because I always feel silly when I've told people and I fall off it... Again...) so I'm just going to try and keep it to myself and see if anyone notices a loss.

Monday is good for me 🙂 hopefully see a decent loss as I think some of my extra was pre-menstrual as well as the usual peri-menopause shit

momo3w · 16/10/2020 10:52

I had my usual brekkie - banana, everything butter and coffee
Ceviche (raw fish ‘cooked’ in lemon juice with coconut milk and fresh veges)
Black tea and a couple of small choc/caramel bites (calories still add up on these 😬)
Small container of mixed salads for dinner - roast vege one and a carrot/shredded coconut salad
Peppermint tea and 4 squares dark choc - had people over and avoided chips, pretzels, nicer chocolate so took that as a small win!
Walked for an hour pushing the baby!

BrimfulOfBaba · 16/10/2020 12:05

I have ruined the last two day's meal plans and calorie counts by scoffing loads of truffles and Sensations poppadums! And then DP ordered burgers last night so we didn't have my calorie counted curry.

Today's a new day, so will do my best to stick to my planned meals. Those Monty Bojangle truffles...may as well have crack in them!

Frustratedmummy79 · 16/10/2020 12:10

Monday fine with me! My starting weight on Monday this week was 10stone 6lb. I've cut out all the snacking and stuck to my calorie goal pretty well (despite DH nipping to the shop all the time and returning with crisps and biscuits 😩)

Ok there's our list! I do hope I've got everyone on there, please let me know if I've missed you off so I can add you Smile

Some people have their starting weight, others what they're wanting to lose, I've just gone from whatever you've put on your posts - they can always be changed if you'd prefer!

I've had a crap day diet-wise today, I've started this thread and think I'm doing the worst of everyone Grin hopefully tomorrow I'll be motivated to do better. I need to start doing some exercise as I find a healthier diet usually follows. Caught sight of myself in the full length mirror earlier as I was getting ready to jump in the shower and I'm not looking good! Would be great if I can get the chunk of it off for Christmas and feel nice in what I wear for the first time in ages! Also in two minds about TTC next year but I refuse to get pregnant now when I weigh the same as I did almost full term with DD.

Am I too late to join?
I need to lose 7kgs of menopause and lockdown weight.. Monday I weighed 74kgs

bellinique · 17/10/2020 09:11

Thanks for making the list OP! I am not doing well so far as there are too many sweet things in the house at the moment!

This thread has reminded me how much I like cottage cheese though, think I'll be adding that to my new healthy eating regime.

Gordonsgrin · 17/10/2020 09:37

Hi, can I join? I have lost 1 stone since middle of August. Still have 1.5 to go.
I am following 16:8 but keeping a check on calories. I have my own set of rules: no eating standing up ( this stops me attacking the cupboards and eating leftovers), no snacking, no processed white carbs, no getting hard on myself if I don’t stick to the rules on any one day!
I am happy with Monday weigh-ins.

PrincessConsuelaBH · 17/10/2020 10:05

@Theredjellybean and @Gordonsgrin welcome! Not too late GrinI'll be adjusting the list on Monday with everyone's weights and will add you both on then Smile

@bellinique I do love it too!

Have had a good day so far (she says at 10am!). Fruit and fibre with whole milk for breakfast. Lunch will be a handful of sweet potato bites, some cucumber sticks with cottage cheese for scooping, cherry toms and a banana.

dudsville · 17/10/2020 11:24

May I join too please? I was on another thread that had a weird name, for some reason it wouldn't save under threads I'm on and I kept losing it. I was a few weeks in to trying to lose about 10 lbs. Nothing had shifted and I learned I'd counted my intake wrong, got a bit demotivated. Then I had quite a few social meals... it's all fixable but I didn't fix it!

I like the idea of breaking it down into 3 chunks.

I'm weighing daily to make sure I don't go in reverse!

Gordonsgrin · 17/10/2020 11:31

@PrincessConsuelaBH thanks for the add. Monday is a genius is a fab day for weigh-in, although I weigh every day unofficially because I find it helps me track the downward trend better.
When we have all reached our goal we can convert the thread into a maintaining our weight one. I am good at the diet bit but rubbish as the maintenance.
Currently drinking a fruit tea, I don’t break my CP fast until 2.00.

PurpleDaisies · 17/10/2020 14:09

I’ve got my favourite jeggings on and I can actually breath in them. That’s progress from last time I tried!

I’ve just met a friend for coffee and cake. I chose an apple and cinnamon mini one over a cream filled doughnut. It was bloody good too. Going for a walk in a bit to help with the ache after yesterday’s kettlebells class.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 17/10/2020 18:26

Thank you, PrincessC - could I go on the list, please?

Starting weight last Monday: 74.5 Kg . At this stage, I would like to lose 5Kg - slowly.

momo3w · 17/10/2020 20:47

It’s Sunday here in NZ and there is just something about the weekend that makes me want to eat fat and sugar! 🤣 My husband is away for work and I’ve got 3 boys which has been great for meaning I can’t easily go to the shop/supermarket to satisfy those cravings so I’ve eaten pretty well. My middle boy is obsessed with David Attenborough and we watched his new doco and it’s really influenced me to eat less meat and more plants - I’ve been vegetarian before but it’s generally resulted in me eating no meat but a lot more carbs and not necessarily a very healthy diet. I’m mainly focusing on reducing red meat consumption. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

PrincessConsuelaBH · 17/10/2020 20:49

@dudsville welcome! Will add you to the list for Monday Smile

@Gordonsgrin that's a good plan! Smile

@PurpleDaisies mmm delicious cake! Well done for making a sensible choice Grin

@RainingBatsAndFrogs absolutely, will adjust for Monday Smile

Well my breakfast and lunch were great, tea has been dreadful - ham and cheese to argue with white bread, a hot chocolate with cream and mini marshmallow and then a bar of sharing chocolate with DH 🙄 will start over again tomorrow and get my scales dusted off ready for Mon morning!

PrincessConsuelaBH · 17/10/2020 20:50

@momo3w OMG how coincidental - literally finished watching that DA programme with DH not 30 mins ago and have been looking online at veggie recipes since after we've agreed to cut down our meat consumption as a family!

OP posts:
momo3w · 17/10/2020 21:00

@PrincessConsuelaBH Ha! How’s that? I found it very compelling. Maybe we could swap/share some recipes we find to be good? I’m also going to buy less and be more selective about the meat I do buy and really up the vege portions at each meal.

BrimfulOfBaba · 18/10/2020 19:10

Thanks for the list @princessconsuelaBH! Sorry I'm 9st8 not 9st5. Hoping to lose a stone.

I'm a bit disappointed, ended up eating loads of takeaway and comfort food and snacks late this week and over the weekend as I was feeling quite down, and didn't work out either.

I know my weigh in will show me as higher than I was at the start but, onwards and upwards.
