I will be attempting to sort my fatness out, and start to make an effort with myself again.

I'm starting tomorrow, who's in?

It's a new month, new start!

Been reading this thread with interest and would love to join for support in losing 1st before Christmas.

Well done to everyone that's lost weight so far, I hope to be able to report similar in 12 weeks.

I've weighed in today, and am the heaviest I've been in a long time. It's so depressing, but onwards and downwards from here!

11st3lb for me first thing, and I'm 5'6

I just feel bleurgh, bloated and yuck.

Will report in regularly to keep on track, and look forward to reading how everyone else is getting on.

We CAN do this!

overwork · 01/10/2020 08:52

Right hopped on the scales and am 12st 1.5lbs. Would be very lovely to be able to type a number starting with 11 in 2 weeks time so that's my first aim. Have brought my own lunch to work today so I don't get tempted by something not helpful at M&S.

pyxi · 01/10/2020 09:17

@overwork we are the same weight. I can't wait to see 11 on the scales.

I was 16st 5 this time last year, managed to lose a stone, and kept it off during lockdown, then due to various life changes, I'm currently in a position to be able to really get to grips with my weight (and health and general life). What is working for me atm is a VLCD, but I know the really hard part (after the first horrific week) is the reintroduction of food, so I'm spending a lot of time establishing my food triggers, and what I'm going to do about them come January when I should be around 10st 7.

Yesterday's weigh in was 14st exactly, so that's 19 pounds off in this current push, but more excitingly, my blood pressure has come right down, and I'm considering ditching the BP tablets.

Having left H and moved into my own flat, it's amazing how less stressed (and probably depressed) I am, but I have to confess a big part of me wants this weight loss to succeed so that when we meet up at Christmas I can look amazing (yes, I am very petty when I want to be Grin.

Well done to everyone who's lost weight so far, onwards and downwards on the scales Flowers

overwork · 01/10/2020 10:53

@pyxi fab, we can hold each other accountable to that!
@MyVisionsComeFromSoup my goodness it sounds like you have been through the mill. I sincerely hope you wow everyone at Xmas (you will whatever happens with your weight though, as everyone will notice just how much happier you are!)

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 01/10/2020 11:02

overwork - wowing people has already happened - I met up with friends a month ago who I've known for years, but don't see f2f very often, and the comments when I walked in to the room ranged from "fuck me, maybe I should leave my husband too!" to "you look 20 years younger!" Grin.

It really shows the impact that stress/growing more and more miserable for 15 odd years has on weight/attitudes to food/general health.

Coffeeandaride · 01/10/2020 11:37

MyVisionsComeFromSoup that’s great news about the BP and less stress.
Onwards and downwards indeed Smile

I’m drinking more water and not snacking. Brushing my teeth after evening meal is a good idea, I’m going to use that.

drizzleborn · 01/10/2020 18:20

I think setting mini targets is the best way forwards to made it more achievable. My first is to see 160 something and not 170 and will then pick a new one. Cannot wait to see 11stone something either but that's 10lbs away and the 160 something is 8lbs away.

How often is everyone going to weigh in? I was hoping to manage weekly but had a sneaky weigh in today (which I'm not recording)

AuldFox · 01/10/2020 19:00

myvisions Not petty at all. Hope you knock his annoying little socks off with your fabulousness Wink

AuldFox · 01/10/2020 19:02

I’m posting a weight every 2 weeks on a Wednesday, as it takes a couple of weeks to show on the scales for me. I tend to stay the same weight and then a bit comes off. It’s no longer 2-3lbs loss/week that I could do when I was two decades younger unfortunately Grin

Ooh yes count me in! Have lost just over a stone since July but have had a very sociable September (in anticipation of tightening lockdown rules!) and have lost the grand total of 1lb since the start of last month. Given how much I've indulged that's probably quite a good result but I'm kicking myself now. Got another stone to lose - doable by Xmas surely?? Although at my current rate that will be mid 2022 😂 need to get on the case again!

Avebury · 01/10/2020 23:15

13 stone exactly. Good day today though apart from the mindless handful of chocolate fingers.
Yogurt and fruit for breakfast. Chicken salad wrap for lunch and fish cakes and veg for dinner.
And a Diet Coke.
Kind of wish I hadn't started just before a weekend as I find it hard to stay on track at the weekend but the intention is there.

Helgathehairy · 02/10/2020 12:43

How are we doing? I’m half way through my 3rd fast day of the week. Today is the toughest - this is my first time doing 4:3.

I need to drink more water. It’s cold and rainy and I just want tea & coffee, not water.

I’ve booked in to get my eyebrows and lashes done next week, first time since the start of lockdown for a boost!

Dietbet · 02/10/2020 13:25

Good so far. No snacks for 3 days and willpower is good.

AuldFox · 02/10/2020 14:22

Porridge and black coffee for breakfast. Going well so far! Planning on soup for lunch in a bit.

AuldFox · 02/10/2020 14:25

helga I’m trying herbal/fruit teas instead of lots of lattes which I usually drink several times a day. We need our hot drinks in this weather, and that will be more true in the coming months!

intheenddoesitreallymatter · 02/10/2020 17:19

Second day into Sober-tober - god this is boring! I'd do anything for a rum and coke.

I've found in only three days my appetite has completely dropped! I'm doing two meals a day and not overly tempted but that will last all of five minutes!

I went for a long walk today and I'm going to start upping my exercise. We're going away for the weekend but I'm going to try and keep my eating under control and still no alcohol or snacking!

Itstartedinbarcelona · 02/10/2020 17:34

Can I join? I’ve just had a blood test which indicates that I have diabetes. I’m waiting for a follow up to confirm but I’m horrified. Had two good days so far, just need to carry on.

Welcome Itstartedinbarcelona !

All sizes and weights welcome here. We are all trying to lose a bit of weight before putting it all back again Christmas Grin

AuldFox · 02/10/2020 22:08

Oops bold fail there!

Helgathehairy · 03/10/2020 16:23

auldfox I keep trying herbal teas but I haven’t found one yet that’s anywhere near as nice as a real mug of tea!! At least I have my coffee black so that’s fine!

DH & I agreed last night (after a few drinks!) that we’d stop drinking during the week but have a bottle of wine over the weekend. The longer lockdown went on the more we drank!

Cavagirl · 03/10/2020 16:58

@Helgathehairy after spending quite a bit of time in Asia DP & I now take our tea black - but it needs to be good quality loose leaf and brewed properly in a teapot (obviously lol). It's been a revelation, teabag tea with milk now tastes crap (and it's often cheaper depending on the brand). I highly recommend it, you won't go back!
The downside is we're now posh tea twats.

Helgathehairy · 03/10/2020 17:19

cavagirl I wonder if that’s a bit like the fact I can’t drink instant coffee any more and brew my own (although I wouldn’t consider myself a coffee twat!)
