I will be attempting to sort my fatness out, and start to make an effort with myself again.

I'm starting tomorrow, who's in?

Well done everybody so far, it’s going to be tougher now with the cold nights and lock down as well!

FatGirlShrinking · 05/11/2020 12:57

@DownUdderer congrats on being able to wear your goal skirt!

I have purged my wardrobe, it's all in bags for the charity shop, I'm down to 3 pairs of joggers, 3 hoodies a handful of T-shirt's/vests and undies. I've gone from a 22 to a 16-18 so everything I had was hanging off of me and while that's ok for big cardies and dressing gowns, my trousers were a hazard, I was constantly tightening the drawstring and pulling them up.

I'm just buying enough now to keep me clothed until I get to a size I'm happy to stick at.

It makes choosing my outfit very easy and thankfully lockdown means I don't need any going out clothes 🤣

AuldFox · 05/11/2020 13:17

Good plan! I haven’t made any plans on what to do with my clothes if I drop a dress size, I’m short so if I wear things that are too big I look like a child who is waiting to grow into them....

I’d say I’m a about a size 11 now Grin

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 05/11/2020 14:09

Thanks @DownUdderer! Well done on fastening your skirt (never said that before!)

DownUdderer · 06/11/2020 05:12

I was feeling very chuffed to get that skirt on! I had given up hope of ever wearing it to be honest.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 08/11/2020 10:40

@DownUdderer

congratulations DownUdderer! And FatGirlShrinking, I've done the same, I did a panic shop in Primark a few weeks back, so that's going to have to do me till December now. I did manage to dig up some size 16 stuff I'd forgotten I'd bought, so I can at least keep myself decently covered. Well done to everyone else, it's going to be tougher to stick to this winter, but we can do it!

I put on 3.5 lbs while on holiday, but have almost got it all off now thank goodness. Will do an "official" weigh-in on Wednesday, but I'm pleased to report I spent my week away in two much skimpier than I've worn in a long time bikinis, and didn't seem to horrify anyone round the pool Wink.

Will be seeing H tomorrow (part medical appointment/part work so allowed under lockdown rules) for the first time in a couple of months, so I'm hoping he notices how much better I'm looking these days. My pettiness obviously hasn't shrunk with my weight Grin.

What I need to do now is make a proper start on toning up, and doing my best to minimise saggy skin. I'm too old to expect much in the way of skin elasticity, but I can definitely do something about the belly, bum and bingo wings. Might have to dig out my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD and see how that goes.

Well done everyone, haven't been on here in a whileBlush put lb on last week, lost 3 this week although have had a very sore mouth so couldn't actually eat loads.
Week 1 13 stone 7lbs bmi 33.5
Week 2 13 stone 8lbs bmi 33.7
Week 3 13 stone 6lbs bmi 33.3
Week 4 13 stone 7lbs bmi 33.5
Week 5 13 stone 4lbs bmi 32.9

My weight is up and down like a yo yo, I really struggle in the evenings, as soon as I walk through the door i'm "starving". I'm hoping the loss this week gives me the boost I need.
I'm so close to the 12 stone mark, need to loose 11lbs between now and Christmas to have lost the stone.

DownUdderer · 09/11/2020 02:52

I'm a pound away from goal weight now. I'll be interested in how I go with maintenance though. I'm sure I'll still have to be careful so I don't mindlessly put pounds back on.

FatGirlShrinking · 11/11/2020 07:26

Start of this weight loss journey was 233lb, BMI 35.4

28/10/2020 - 198lb, BMI 30.1
04/11/2020 - 197lb, BMI 29.9
11/11/2020 - 192lb, BMI 29.1

Loss this week - 5 lb
Loss this month - 6 lb
Total loss since starting - 41 lb

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 11/11/2020 08:28

@FatGirlShrinking 5lbs in a week is amazing! You weigh loss overall is wonderful.

I’ve lost another 1.5 lbs this week which I was pleased with.

Starting weight July - 12 stone 8lb
Weight on 1/10/20 - 11stone 5
Current weight 10 stone 12.4lbs

AuldFox · 11/11/2020 09:08

It’s weigh in day!

Start weight: 67.1kg
Current weight: 64.5kg
Total loss: 2.6kg

Very slow but steady loss for me. I won’t reach 60kg by Christmas but I be lighter than I was when we started. I’m still eating plenty of chocolate so I can’t wish for much more really.

Well done to all of you losing so much more. Big congrats to downudderer for reaching your goal weight!

DownUdderer · 11/11/2020 09:09

I'm two pounds down from last Thursday. Congrats @GhoulWithADragonTattoo and @FatGirlShrinking

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 11/11/2020 09:19

looks like my week away didn't cause any lasting damage - I put on 3lbs, and this week have lost 5, so official results are:

total loss since August (on shakes): 31 lbs
total loss since last October: 47 lbs
starting BMI: 37.1
current BMI: 29.2
target BMI: 22.5

My spreadsheet tells me I'm 52% there, only another 44lbs to go Grin

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 11/11/2020 09:27

well done everyone for sticking to it, whether it's slow and sure, or drastic. The most effective weight loss method is the one that works for you, both to lose weight and to maintain weight, that's healthy and sustainable. My WW losses years back of a quarter of a pound every couple of weeks were actually much harder than the 3lbs a week I'm managing at the moment, because back then I was also having to navigate actual food and family meal cooking. This VLCD is much easier in the loss phase, because I'm not having to think about it (I don't even choose what flavour I'm having each time (I have the packets sorted into boxes, and just take the next one). My hard work starts after Christmas when I need to start thinking about food and nutrition and not buying chocolate and crisps, and that's going to be the really tough stage.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 11/11/2020 12:24

Well ladies on your weight losses. 2 lbs this week is great @DownUdderer Smile

Graciebobcat · 11/11/2020 15:24

Well done everyone. I'm still losing, slowly, about 0.5lbs a week. Down to 12st 10lbs from 13st 4lbs.

Graciebobcat · 11/11/2020 15:24

BMI is 27.5 from 28.9.

@myvisionscomefromsoup it's so interesting to read about the vlcd vs ww. I whole heartedly agree with you, we have to find a way to lose weight that works for us each individually. I think if I was to follow a different plan I'd struggle. I'm low carbing and intermittent fasting. I'm sure we all have good hang ups and different approaches to overcome them. I'm going back and forth with myself on my goal weight. When I was in my 20's I was probably 8st 9, but it was effortless. I was happy and that weight felt easy to go along with. Now I'm just about to turn 40 and I've had three kids so I'm just not 100% sure what my ideal weight is. It's not the end of the world what I decide to aim for but it's been on my mind this week. Good work everyone, and good luck.

DownUdderer · 12/11/2020 03:35

Morning all! It’s weigh-in day again.

Start weight: 67.1kg
Current weight: 63.2kg
Total loss: 3.9kg

This thread has kept me on the straight and narrow when I’ve been tempted to give up. Well done everyone who is still losing, anyone who is faltering please come back. We are still here!

DownUdderer · 25/11/2020 10:16

I'm really pleased with my weight loss, congrats to everyone else who's doing well.
