I will be attempting to sort my fatness out, and start to make an effort with myself again.

I'm starting tomorrow, who's in?

Starting weight 12 st 8lb
Weight 1 Oct: 11st 5
Current weight 11 st 3

Lost a pound again this week Smile

Graciebobcat · 14/10/2020 09:53

@DownUdderer Yes you are right. Having some accountability does seem to help.

Well done @FatGirlShrinking and @GhoulWithADragonTattoo. Great job.

In January 2016 I was 203lbs which is my heaviest ever and in the obese zone. Managed to lose a stone then and I've not been more than about 190lbs since then.

But I've been trying to get down to 160lbs or better, 154lbs (11 stone) since I had DD2 in 2009! Nearest I got was 168lbs in about 2013.

Last year I got down to 176lbs before a close bereavement made me go off piste, and gradually got back up to 186lbs- though throughout lockdown I stayed at 182lbs, until August/Sept when I went a bit mad and put on 4lbs.

Currently 180lbs and feeling determined to get to 168lbs by Christmas. Was good to get BMI into the 27s and under 13st for the first time in 18 months when I weighed in on Monday.

AuldFox · 14/10/2020 12:58

Here’s my 2 weekly weigh in (husband has changed the scale units to kg and I can’t be asked to change it back)

Start weight: 67.1kg
Current weight: 66.0kg
Total loss: 1.1kg

I’d lost 0.4kg more before I got my period (sneaky weigh in) and ate a load of chocolate Grin but I’ll keep to today’s reading. No exercise at all as my period is very painful.

Onwards and downwards people!

Can I join please? Currently at 11.3 after losing a stone. Would be delighted to get to 10.7 or a little under by Christmas Smile

DownUdderer · 14/10/2020 22:59

Hello new joiners! Hello everyone!

I'm happy because I'm a pound down today, I'm literally a pound away from being 9 stone something and I can't wait!

Clothes are fitting better already!

LosingItInLockdown · 15/10/2020 05:08

That’s awesome @DownUdderer. Good job!

How is everyone else doing?

Shockingly bad week here. Starting over on Saturday...

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 15/10/2020 09:54

I'm another 3 pounds down this week, making 23 in total. However, I did have crisps on Tuesday, and some spring rolls and noodles yesterday (and not nearly enough water), so I'm back on plan today, determined to stay focused (the food yesterday was planned, but the crisps weren't, I'd forgotten I had them, then found them, so obviously had to eat them Confused).

Anyway, onwards and downwards everyone Smile.

LosingItInLockdown · 16/10/2020 02:35

Well done @MyVisionsComeFromSoup. I’d be ecstatic with 23lbs!

DownUdderer · 16/10/2020 03:47

Had a good day today. Sushi for lunch, yum. Yogurt for breakfast. I've done loads of steps today, my legs are tired!

Myvisioncomesfromsoup 23lb down, that's phenomenal!

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 16/10/2020 09:31

LosingIt, Down - at the risk of sounding all faux modest, 23 lbs isn't actually that big a deal with a VLCD, where a "decent" loss is a stone a month. The hardest part is going to be reintroducing food, and not getting into the same position as I was before. But, I'll take all the "well done"s I can get Grin.

Slow and steady is much much harder though, honestly

MonkeyGoneToHeaven · 16/10/2020 14:30

Well done to all of you who have lost weight this week (and also to the strugglers, which includes me!)

I weighed myself yesterday and had lost two pounds (hurray!) and then put on 1.5 pounds overnight (boo!) I had quite a salty dinner last night so I'm putting it down to water retention and hoping the true picture will emerge tomorrow - although I'm going out for dinner tonight so will try to rein it in a bit.

DownUdderer · 17/10/2020 00:14

Which VLCD are you following myvisioncomesfromsoup? I think switching from a diet with definite rules to 'normal food' is really hard! I'm sure I couldn't do it.

We've got a couple more weeks of October, I would like to lose 2lb at the least during this time.

Chuchyduck · 17/10/2020 10:37

I have decided to join. I weigh myself this morning and I’m 13 stone 5lb and I will be 12 stones or less by Christmas Eve. I am very determined. I usually do half an hour on my exercise bike most days, but need to get back into that as I’ve not been on it with having a heavy cold this week. I walk the dog every day. I think I have too many snacks , biscuits and cake. Amd a lot of the time, I don’t even really enjoy it, I’m just shovelling it down for the sake of it.

DownUdderer · 17/10/2020 10:43

It's funny isn't it when we eat and we don't enjoy it and don't notice it? Such a daft sort of reflex almost! I have to concentrate not to just reach for something that'll be completely unsatisfying.

Chuchyduck · 17/10/2020 17:45

I do it quite often, it’s almost like a punishment, rather than food you’ve looked forward to. Like you said, it’s making yourself concentrate and not just reach for food, just because it’s there.

FatGirlShrinking · 17/10/2020 17:54

The michael mosely lose 21lb in 21 days thing on ch4 had a section on mindfulness.

I found that really interesting, they were talking about actually making the effort to think about your food when you eat it. So making food, then sitting down, no tv, no book, just focus on the eating.

Smell it, think about the taste and texture, think about how it makes you feel.

I don't do it all the time, but if I'm allowing myself a high calorie treat, something that I don't eat often I do try to really enjoy it not just wolf it down. I also don't eat anything I don't like, it's not worth the calories.

Had a different flavoured beef jerky yesterday, it had a weird flavour, before the diet I would have finished it just because it was there, now it went straight in the bin and I had something else instead.

picklemewalnuts · 17/10/2020 18:03

Hello! May I join you? I have a lot to lose, so a little company along the journey would be great! I have just joined slimming world, on a GP referral, so I'm free until Christmas. I joined ten days ago at 122kg, am now 120kg, and want to be 110 by Christmas.

I also have a pair of jeans that fitted at the start of lockdown and no longer do, so that's another motivation!

DownUdderer · 17/10/2020 23:28

Fitting back into clothes is the best feeling ever! I've got one skirt that's still too tight to wear, I really hope it fits me soon!

Minnie123456 · 18/10/2020 10:50

1lb on Sad i've recently come off bcp and i've been an emotional wreck, af is due at some stage. So onto a new week

AuldFox · 18/10/2020 13:52

Welcome pickle

minnie I put on at least a pound if not two before every af and then lose it again a few days after af is over. Don’t be disheartened! Keep going!

Minnie123456 · 18/10/2020 23:06

Thanks @AuldFox. New week, new start 😊

DownUdderer · 19/10/2020 03:27

Minnie123456, yes the time of the month really can mess up my weightloss. Bloody hormones!! Stick with it if you can.

I had an extra long fast this morning, it wasn't planned. I forgot my breakfast when I was rushing the kids out the door!

Snipples · 19/10/2020 13:08

I've been a bit shit the last week or so. Weight keeps fluctuating by about 3lbs when I hit the carbs. Going to have a wee fast night this eve and that usually gets me back on track and then will be saint like for the next wee while. God it's just so utterly boring isn't it!

Keep going everyone!

BooFuckingHoo2 · 19/10/2020 14:36

Can I join.

I’m weighed in at 14st 4 this morning Shock that’s nearly 2 stone I’ve gained in the past year.

Will be following a VLCD and aiming to be under 12 stone by Christmas.
