So I’m fed up of being fat, and it’s time to take action.
Lately my skin has been a mess and periods have stopped, I’ve had numerous tests and it looks like obesity is the cause 😩.
I am so embarrassed but fuck it.
I am currently 30, 5’4 and weigh 18 stone.
I’d like to get down to 10 stone eventually but even a stone or two would motivate me.
As of tomorrow no more shit!

Would anyone like to join?
Wether you have a lot (like me!) or a little to lose!

I really have to be good today and tomorrow as my weigh in is Tuesday. I had a really good loss last week and at the moment it looks like it is going to be about a pound if I am lucky.

Just had porridge made with oat milk and cinnamon with some pumpkin & sunflower seeds and flaked almonds. Hopefully that is going to keep me full until this evening when we have salmon fillets, rice and veg. No snacking today. No alcohol.

Wish me luck.

Well done to everyone.
My week off didn't go well, weather was rubbish so only got out once for a walk, although parked further away from dd's school so can a small walk at pick up time. Eating well was completely off track but managed to loose 1/2lb
Back on it today using Mfp.

I was eating salads for lunch four days a week but i've sickened myself of them so need to find something different.

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 30/08/2020 15:02

I’d say soup is a good, easy option.

Submariner · 30/08/2020 19:15

Just finished up a good week. Stuck to all my 'rules' and only went over my calories on two days. The other days were all under so I'm hoping it evens out.

As before I am gradually tightening up this week. Aiming for 4 alcohol free days, walk every day, keep to my MFP calories. This week I am going to be eating between 9am and 7pm. I have found that I am mostly stopping eating by 7 anyway and don't tend to get hungry in the morning until I eat breakfast.

Biggest change for me is that a local gym have an offer on for a 6 week program of 3x workouts a week plus some guidance/accountability coaching so I have signed up to start next week. I'm hoping it will set me up with some workout knowledge for over the winter.

I did some meal prep today, including some portions of dhal for lunches. Added some chickpeas and spinach to the recipe as it is very low cal normally so wanted to up the nutrition and be able to skip the bread/rice.

Joining. 5 foot 4! I eat too much bread and have a bit of a sweet tooth and love an afternoon stress-related snack. Need to lose about a stone. I'm going to try and cut back on the carbs, move more and not eat the kid's snack bars come 4pm

RuudGullitOnAShed · 30/08/2020 20:23

Welcome @Bromley4ever

I'm trying to do some meal planning for next week as I'm back in work.
The time between arriving home and eating is a real danger zone for me as I tend to eat biscuits and crisps as I am starving.
Going to try and replace this with water and carrots and celery.

@Submariner I might steal your Dahl idea and make a batch for lunches - not stealing your gym joining tho as that is my worst nightmare - well done you for having the motivation!

catchingzzzeds · 31/08/2020 07:57

@Bromley4ever welcome!

Yesterday went pretty well considering I was hosting a family lunch. A banana for breakfast, roast beef for lunch- 3 small potatoes, loads of veg and no Yorkshire pudding and then I had a bowl of berries for supper. I did have 3 glasses of wine! I was pretty active all day and managed my workout before supper.
I'm aiming to stay under my calories over the next couple of days to offset the wine.

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 31/08/2020 09:38

Submariner pretty inspired by all of that.

I definitely think prep is key, having the right things available. I’m feeling hungrier at the moment and think I must be due on my period soon. Savoury, salty things like crisps are my nemesis at this time because I end up eating 3-4 packs in a row. I’ve deliberately bought hula hoops as I don’t like them.

I’ve literally been dreaming about sauasages/bacon etc for breakfast so deviating from granola and have some heck sausages, Turkey rashers and eggs.

There is leftover curry for everyone else tonight so I can have a really controlled day with soup for dinner and smoked salmon bagel for lunch or similar.

Starlightstarbright1 · 31/08/2020 11:42

I have now officially lost 7lbs so happy with that

catchingzzzeds · 31/08/2020 14:35

I buy snacks I'm not fussed by too @MercedesDeMonteChristo
That's fantastic @Starlightstarbright1 whatever you're doing is obviously working!

RuudGullitOnAShed · 31/08/2020 20:01

Well done @Starlightstarbright1 - that's brilliant

I've just planned meals for the rest of the week and am trying to decide what to take for lunch when I go back to work tomorrow.

I'm thinking boiled eggs mashed with natural yoghurt and oatcakes ... a bit of a change from my usual grab something from Tesco routine.

Bromley4ever · 31/08/2020 21:43

Doing well cutting back on saying yes to all treats, so much so that DH was worried about me! But when the kids are back and 4pm will be the real test, even more so when I'm back at work (currently a jobseeker), ready cut celery/carrots is a great idea @RuudGullitOnAShed! But I will have to have a cup of tea.

I cooked a roast - no Yorkshire pud, that was the hardest part.

I find tea or lemon tea seems to curb my eating in an evening.

Submariner · 01/09/2020 07:58

Thanks @RuudGullitOnAShed and @MercedesDeMonteChristo. First gym session was today and now my legs don't work! Starting to come round to Ruud's point of view with the evils of the gym Grin

Fantastic loss @Starlightstarbright1!

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 01/09/2020 08:50

I’ve found a spin studio nearby that I want to try, but it’s in the sort of area where everyone wears Sweaty Betty and lunch. That sounds judgey but I’m not sure I’m ready for uber fit, uber stylish workouts so I may have to cave and join my local gym eventually to try spinning before I go down that route. I’m trying to hold out until winter kicks in as I much prefer the outdoors.

RuudGullitOnAShed · 01/09/2020 21:28

Well I survived the first day back in work and stayed under calories.

In the end I took two boiled eggs mashed with a spoonful of natural yogurt and ate those on oatcakes and it was surprisingly filling. I also took celery and carrots which I ate mid afternoon.

Best of all I avoided all the chocolates in the staffroom and wasn't even tempted.

And thanks to being organised I stuck to our planned evening meal - not even being tempted when DH said "you look shattered, shall we go and get a MacDonalds"

Submariner · 02/09/2020 07:59

Mercedes, I see your point and it's good to go somewhere you feel comfortable, but you might be surprised if you go to the trendy place. I have found most places people are more interested in doing their own thing to worry about anyone else in the class.

Good effort Ruud!

catchingzzzeds · 02/09/2020 09:13

I ate out yesterday and managed to stay within my 1200 calories! We went to a carvery and it was easy. It helped that they had run out of almost all puddings!

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 02/09/2020 09:52

submariner my brain knows you are right. Tbh I’ve never been anywhere and felt judged. When I run I am easily the biggest person running but others runners only ever smile and say hi. Absolutely no reason this would be different.

I had an awful eating day yesterday and made all sorts of bad decisions that made me feel shitty, because of all the deep fried/sugary nature that I haven’t been eating. I felt really lethargic etc. Anyway, today is a new day.

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 02/09/2020 09:53

Ruud and Zedds positive stuff.

Starlightstarbright1 · 03/09/2020 08:22

i have weighed myself today. Not an official weigh in day.i have just dropped into a lower stone bracket.

It has given me a real spring in my step.

Back to school run today so more exercise

Submariner · 03/09/2020 11:04

Woohoo! Have you got a reward planned for yourself?

My scales aren't going in the right direction at all, but I'm ignoring them this week as I'm sure I will have a lot of extra water weight from all the new exercise (very sore!) and I know I'm making good food choices and doing all the right stuff. Fingers crossed for a woosh next week!!

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 03/09/2020 11:18

starlight that is so encouraging. Well done.

I ate 3 packets of crisps then skipped dinner yesterday, it is definitely almost time of the month. I did come in under 1200 though, but such crap.

I've had my granola, having some scrambled egg for lunch and have the roast that I was looking forward to but hasn't quite materialised yet. I've tracked it in MFP but not sure how accurate it is, but will just try to be mindful of portions and have plenty chicken and veg.

Starlightstarbright1 · 03/09/2020 18:06

I have found the less carbs i eat the less i crave them. I bought a packet of french fries for lunch yesterday to share with Ds . I really can't keep them in the house.

My biggest reward. I did my coat up fir eainy school run and it definitely wasn't as tight.

Rather than specific rewards i am trying to be more caring and take a little more time for me. I tend to put myself bottom if the pile

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 03/09/2020 22:10

@Starlightstarbright1 that’s the best feeling.
