So I’m fed up of being fat, and it’s time to take action.
Lately my skin has been a mess and periods have stopped, I’ve had numerous tests and it looks like obesity is the cause 😩.
I am so embarrassed but fuck it.
I am currently 30, 5’4 and weigh 18 stone.
I’d like to get down to 10 stone eventually but even a stone or two would motivate me.
As of tomorrow no more shit!

Would anyone like to join?
Wether you have a lot (like me!) or a little to lose!

If I were in your shoes catchingzzzeds I would eat what you want and then nothing for the rest of the day. As you say, if you don't get a chance to eat out very often then it is a shame not to enjoy it.

RuudGullitOnAShed · 26/08/2020 09:03

I’d eat what you want.
I’m trying to make this a lifestyle not a punishment so I’m working on the theory the occasional meal out with sensible calorie counting the rest of the time is much better than the overeating I was doing before.

I also read a great analogy for the times you eat the cake/chocolate (whatever your weakness is) and think “sod it, I may as well stiff my face now” - if you dropped your mobile phone and there was a minor scratch on the screen would you then jump up and down on it or would you pick it up and be more careful on future?

catchingzzzeds · 26/08/2020 09:04

@Submariner @dalecooper thanks both, I shall take your advice and fight the guilt!!
Hope everyone has a great day

@RuudGullitOnAShed your post makes so much sense, thank you

Apart from the typos! Grin

I’ve just weighed and I’ve lost 6lb in two weeks. I’m delighted with that.
If I could lose 10lb a month I could be 40lb lighter by Christmas.
The challenge for me is going back to work next week.
I’ll have less time to plan and prepare meals, I’ll be tired and work is a minefield of cakes and biscuits

catchingzzzeds · 26/08/2020 10:32

That's fantastic! Well done! I know what you mean about work, our team is full of bakers!

dalecooper · 26/08/2020 11:04

Excellent weight loss. Keep it up. Make sure you have something on hand to eat at work, whether it be cut up veg, or some rice cakes or even just some soup sachets etc. I am also hoping for 7-10lbs a month. Feels totally achievable now but I know what I am like when I have been doing this for a few weeks, I start to let the wine and crisps sneak in and them I am down to a pound a week.

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 26/08/2020 11:13

Well done that is amazing.

I would also eat what I want and just be careful around the rest of the day. I'm out for lunch, I'll be over cals for sure, but I had my granola and will have an M&S soup for dinner later. Plus a spot more exercise over the next few days. I'm also trying for lifestyle.

RuudGullitOnAShed · 26/08/2020 15:07

I've been losing and gaining the same 10lb for 10 years.
This really does need to be a lifestyle for me now. I'm planning to make sure I have lots of veg to snack on when we return to work. Hopefully I'll be so busy that I won't have time to feel hungry
.

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 27/08/2020 10:48

Well my lunch yesterday turned into drinks until closing time, consequently a little hungover but not too bad and have dinner and more drinks tonight. I’m writing off these two days and just enjoying them and having my fry up tomorrow and will make most of next week very low carb and strict with my calories. I’m not weighing until mid September so hopefully I’ll pull it back.

I also don’t really have time for my walk today so it’ll be a long one tomorrow.

Submariner · 27/08/2020 15:58

Sounds lovely Mercedes! And nothing better than a fry up after a night out 🤤

I have lost what I put on over my holiday and I'm now 6lb below what I started at. I feel like I can see the difference. Have managed to keep under my calorie goals all week so far including two glasses of wine and a risotto last night. Still haven't been for my daily walk yet and it hasn't stopped raining since mid morning! I'll be in my wellies later I think!

RuudGullitOnAShed · 27/08/2020 17:24

That sounds like a good plan @MercedesDeMonteChristo

Well done on losing the holiday weight @Submariner

I was all planned food wise today but I've had a headache all day and in order to stop it developing into a migraine I know from experience I need to eat so I've had some biscuits and a nut bar on top of my planned food.

Kahlua4me · 27/08/2020 17:55

Cani join too please? I am 5’5 and have 2 stone to lose. I was with SW but have stopped as the zoom meetings were annoying me and I found them too stressful. I don’t want to rejoin and think this support thread may be just what I need.

I lost about 10lbs at the start of lockdown, probably through stress and constant cleaning, but have put it all back on with biscuits and cake!

I am planning on stopping all snacking during the day, apart from fruit and veg, as that is definitely my downfall....

catchingzzzeds · 27/08/2020 18:18

I too hit the pub today but I know it doesn't mean I've ruined it all, tomorrow I'll be back on it. This is a new way of thinking for me, previously I've considered myself on a diet and a bad day would mean I've messed up and I'd be thinking what's the point.
I've really enjoyed today but I'm looking forward to resuming my new lifestyle tomorrow.
Well done everyone, we've got this.

catchingzzzeds · 27/08/2020 18:19

Welcome @Kahlua4me Smile

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 28/08/2020 08:23

Welcome Kahlua! I tried SW for a while but the woman who ran it standing in the middle announcing losses/gains was not my thing. Though I do like an accountable weigh in.

Well, I am less hungover than expected so I’m going to have my fry up post walk then draw a line and get back to it.

The great thing was that when I walked in my friends commented on my weight loss and how great I looked. If that’s the reaction to 1 stone it’s definitely keeping me going. I know I’m doing it for me and the health benefits but it’s nice that people notice too.

RuudGullitOnAShed · 28/08/2020 15:41

Welcome @Kahlua4me - I've considered WW and SW but the thought of the meetings put me off.

@MercedesDeMonteChristo - how lovely that your friends commented on your weight loss, what a great boost for you.

My sister is down for the bank holiday weekend, I'm not likely to see her again until Christmas so I ave made a resolution to be considerably lighter by then!

Kahlua4me · 28/08/2020 15:55

Thank you for all your welcomes 😁.

ruddGuillitOnAShed my brother and sil are up for this weekend too and then we probably won’t see them again so getting to the weight I want to be by then was my thought too!

It is dd’s birthday tomorrow so will probably have lots of wine and cake but will limit it to just tomorrow and then back to sensible eating. I know what I need to do and I am determined to get there.

Right my three drinking, lunches, dinners etc days are over. Today back to MFP and 1200/portion control.

We have Thai green curry today and a roast tomorrow and I certainly cannot be arsed with working out roast calories, however I’ll load up the veg and chicken, fewer potatoes and breakfast/lunch will be controlled.

I’ve signed up for a Sept walking challenge of 100 miles to keep me on track. I’ve found some resistance bands 10 min workouts on YouTube so will start trying to incorporate - if anything to shit DH up. He is trying to be helpful, and isn’t wrong but if he tells me to join the gym with him to do weights/tone I might throw something.

catchingzzzeds · 29/08/2020 22:23

Well my day at the pub off plan cost me a 3lb weight gain Got straight back on it though and I've managed to lose 2lbs.
So unfair that the fat is so hard to shift but if I so much as get a whiff of a chip and a glass of vino I pile it on.
My family are over for lunch tomorrow so I'm doing roast beef, I'm planning on doing the same as you @MercedesDeMonteChristo but will also be having a couple of glasses of wine.

RuudGullitOnAShed · 29/08/2020 23:49

I'm going to my mum's for Sunday lunch and I'm doing the same as @MercedesDeMonteChristo and@catchingzzzeds - lots of chicken and veg.
I know she'll also have made pudding so I shall have a small portion only.

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 30/08/2020 07:35

I’m not weighing until mid Sept, so time to rectify whatever the social life of this week cost me. Well done Zeds for getting back on it straight away.

My meal plan has got messed up. DH was out last night so we had fajitas instead, surprisingly low cal and I only had one and lots of salad. Today instead of the roast (which we’ll now have Wedn) there is loads of chicken so it’ll be either Thai green curry or DH will make curry.

Oh well.

Submariner · 30/08/2020 09:53

Sounds like some lovely weekend plans everyone! I'm meeting a friend at a café for the first time since lockdown! Am going to have a piece of cake, but the cafe has nutrition info online and it doesn't look too hefty (I always have the same one there!) plus will need to walk to and from the train on both legs of the journey so I'm not too worried. Only having a tea though, don't need all the extra cals from a latte or similar.
