I have 10-14lbs to lose to start feeling comfortable in myself again. I'm 5' 6.

9 stone is my fighting weight but I'm at least 10 stone now, and I know it's going to continue creeping up.

I look at threads already going on here but when lots of people are already on I feel like I get lost on it Grin

So I'm aiming to start Monday, not sure what plan I'll be following yet, but will have to eat less and exercise more as I've noticed my thighs are rubbing a little and got some fat on my back etc.

Morning. Monday morning weigh-in is 70.0kg.

Plan today: Pilates and 20 min exercise bike (I’m exercise-restricted at the moment)
B: Stuffed mushroom & potatoes 300
L: avocado & feta on toast 500
D: one of the few treats from my supermarket delivery 600

OooErrThor · 13/07/2020 07:54

So week 1 and I've lost 2 pounds, which is better than a poke in the eye.

I'll see what this week brings, feeling very positive and my mindset has changed for the better. Plus thanks to this thread it's keeping me on track.

My goal for this week is no alcohol, mindful eating, two meals a day and upping the exercise 🤞

kirstinm · 13/07/2020 07:54

@TheBitchOfTheVicar Well done! And yes, I bet you have lost a bit more than that and it will show once you have, err, cleared out...as it were! :-)

@Chocolatecake12 To be fair that sounds like a lovely week food wise and worth the gain...and yes, start of a new week today!

@Swearwolf I totally get that, I need to be feeling motivated and can easily lose my mojo!

Well, I just weighed in...now, caveat here that pre-lockdown I was fairly active and have honestly hardly moved in about 8 weeks. Coupled with some fairly terrible weeks of eating take aways and junk (I'm talking shovelling in full bars of cadbury fruit and nut). So, I've been trying (and usually failing) to stick to 1200 calories logged on MFP and been going for a long walk each day.

Anyway, just weighed in and I have lost 8lb!! I'm just under 10 stone 9 now. Really happy, I know I'm still just getting back to my pre-lockdown self and I wanted to lose weight from there, but it's a fab start and I'm feeling motivated. Ideally I would like to lose around a stone from here. Now I think it's about trying to get the steps up even more and build from there (and not be gutted when I don't get this sort of loss every week)!

New week everybody, have a good day!

Egghead68 · 13/07/2020 07:55

That’s great @OooErrThor!

Skyliner001 · 13/07/2020 07:56

Going to weigh now...

Egghead68 · 13/07/2020 07:58

Brilliant @kirstinm! I have a lot of catching up to do but I don’t have your discipline. I relate to the full bars of chocolate in lockdown (Cadbury’s Marvellous Creations in my case). Never buy the stuff usually!

Skyliner001 · 13/07/2020 08:13

8.12 Exactly! So I think pretty much the same as last Saturday… My weight seems to fluctuate by around 2lb during the week... my lowest recorded weight last week was 8.10 lb.05 I'm weighing myself at the same time of day with the same clothes, so I don't know why it fluctuates so much! Shock

pigear · 13/07/2020 08:49

I've had a small loss, I was 11 stone 1.4 and now 11 stone 0.6.
It would have been more but it was my 20th wedding anniversary yesterday and so there was some celebratory food over the weekend.
This week should be more normal and hopefully, next Monday should be a bigger drop and I will be under 11 stone.

OooErrThor · 13/07/2020 08:50

@kirstinm that's fab, well doneSmile

OooErrThor · 13/07/2020 08:51

@pigear any loss is better than no loss, anything under 11 stone is my aim - one day, I'll get there maybe not as soon as you Wink

SmallPinkBear · 13/07/2020 09:03

So happy this morning. I have gone from 11st 11 to 11st 7.5! Admittedly some of that initial weight was due to alot of food last weekend but I know I was at least 11st 9.5 so I am really pleased with that.
Now I need to keep on it, which isn’t helped by DH who has just been out for a coffee and has bought a croissant home for me. Shock not helpful at all...

Swearwolf · 13/07/2020 09:25

Well done on the losses!

My next mini goal is to be 10st by my birthday next Tuesday. Currently 10.2 so need to have a good week! Will weigh next Monday to see.

pigear · 13/07/2020 09:35

Thanks @OooErrThor, it looks like you are making good progress, 2lb loss is great and your plans for the week sound positive too.

Powerplant · 13/07/2020 10:09

I really need to shift at least a stone I haven’t read all the thread so apologies if this has already been mentioned but can anyone recommend a calorie counter app? I’ve had a look at a couple and really not sure which would be the best and most comprehensive. Thanks in advance

FiveShelties · 13/07/2020 10:26

Week One and I have lost the grand sum of 0.8 lbs. I was 10 5.4 and am now 10 st 4.6lbs. Not exactly earth shattering, but at least it is off.

Well done everyone.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 13/07/2020 10:36

@Powerplant welcome! I use my fitness pal

Mustardpot · 13/07/2020 10:45

Morning everyone, kirstinm what a great week, well done and OohErrThor and SmallPinkBear and everyone else who has lost. Powerplant I don’t calculate calories but I think lots of people use my fitness pal, hopefully someone will jump in to help with this. I am low carbing as I know this works for me.

I have lost 5 1/2 lbs and am v pleased. The week before starting I had really over eaten so a couple of pounds came off easily but I have had to be very strict to lose the rest. Day 3 I gave up alcohol (thinking for good) and I have eaten a lot of veg. I feel much better. I still have 1 stone to go ideally and I expect weight loss will slow. I am reading Dr Chattergees Four Pillars book, I think DH bought it ages ago, it’s just an overall health, life balance book, really enjoying it.

Keep going everyone.

B Coffee
L Boiled egg
D Roast courgettes and whole cauliflower

Bolandsbiccies · 13/07/2020 11:02

Morning. Just weighed myself. Yikes, 12st 6lbs. Suspect some of that is period bloat. Need to up my exercise after sitting on my bum all lockdown.

Powerplant · 13/07/2020 11:10

Hey thanks for your replies. I be downloaded my fitness pal. I’m 12st 2lb and 5ft 5 1/2 my heaviest EVER but again retired recently and activity levels somewhat reduced. Apparently I need to stick to 1200 calories to achieve 1 1/12 lbs a week. I’ve never done calorie counting before but then I be never been this heavy before. Good luck everyone😊

kirstinm · 13/07/2020 12:46

Thanks so much everyone! I know it's not a 'real' loss in a way, but I've been focused so I'm feeling pleased with myself. I guess it's about keeping it going now!

@Powerplant I'm finding MFP really good. It's the accountability for me. It's stopped me mindlessly shovelling toast in a couple of times now as I really don't want to have to log it.

@Mustardpot well done, that's a fab loss! I'm the same, the first losses should be fairly easy but I know I will have to be much stricter to get down under ten stone.

@SmallPinkBear Fab, that's a great loss! A croissant would definitely be worth it for me, I love them!

@Egghead68 on my worst weekend I ate four large bars of that chocolate, terrible really but so easy to do! I also never buy chocolate usually, don't know what came over me.

Powerplant · 13/07/2020 14:36

@kirstinm I know what you mean about mindlessly eating I think that’s been my biggest down fall. I only downloaded MFP this morning but it’s just stopped me having a sandwich for lunch cos I couldn’t bring myself to pop it on my meal list. It really does make you stop and think.

TheNewLook · 13/07/2020 15:11

MFP is a great educator. Unlike prescribed diets that tell you what to eat, MFP teaches you to make better choices yourself.

Michelleoftheresistance · 13/07/2020 15:18

May I join please?

I'm 5'6 and currently 13stone 3. I've managed to force off a stone and a half since February, but have now slowed down to losing almost nothing. I started the Fast 800 four weeks back after losing nothing at all through May, and that's managed to get 3 kilos off, but it is p a i n f u l l y s l o w to the point it's getting infuriating . Sad

I'm disabled, so exercise is limited, which really doesn't help, but I'm at the point where I physically can't eat much less than I'm eating!

Egghead68 · 13/07/2020 17:20

Hi @Michelleoftheresistance! You’ve done amazingly to lose a stone and a half, especially during lockdown. It’s so frustrating when weight loss slows down but a slow loss is still a loss.

Michelleoftheresistance · 13/07/2020 17:28

Thank you, that's very kind Flowers
