Anyone want to join to lose up to a stone?

I have 10-14lbs to lose to start feeling comfortable in myself again. I'm 5' 6.

9 stone is my fighting weight but I'm at least 10 stone now, and I know it's going to continue creeping up.

I look at threads already going on here but when lots of people are already on I feel like I get lost on it Grin

So I'm aiming to start Monday, not sure what plan I'll be following yet, but will have to eat less and exercise more as I've noticed my thighs are rubbing a little and got some fat on my back etc.

@kirstinm @TheBitchOfTheVicar
Thank you! I really need this thread to make myself accountable.
So today I’ve had cereal with skimmed milk, pasta leftover from last nights dinner -whole meal with homemade veggie sauce so hopefully not too bad. A yogurt and now thinking of sunetbjng salady for dinner.
Also been on a quick walk after work so feeling better exercise wise than last week .
Good luck with your weeks everyone!

kirstinm · 13/07/2020 17:56

@Michelleoftheresistance I agree, a stone and a half is amazing and especially in lockdown/not being able to exercise. I think slow and steady means you are more likely to keep it off as well!

I've had a good day more or less - decent 5 mile walk and a twenty minute youtube workout as well. Food ok, a little bit of a blip at dinner just now - had baked salmon, broccoli and green beans and wasn't going to have any of the potato wedges my boyfriend made - ended up having quite a big portion! They were so good - think they have taken me (just) over calories for the day though.

kirstinm · 13/07/2020 17:57

He's sat scoffing a whole pack of custard creams at the moment - I'm sat here with my cup of tea going 'I don't want any biscuits, I don't want any biscuits'

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 13/07/2020 20:39

Oh dear @kirstinm! We all have days like that. I am currently trying very hard not to think about the chocolate brownie in the cupboard Hmm

Have just got back from a run with a friend. Feeling good. Also had lots of fruit and veg. But there is a brownie calling my name...

kirstinm · 13/07/2020 21:51

Oh, a brownie sounds delightful @TheBitchOfTheVicar..I've caved and had a few crackers with philadelphia cheese. :-( I was actually quite hungry so hopefully it's ok.

Egghead68 · 13/07/2020 22:00

Managed my first day of cutting calories (as opposed to just trying not to overeat). I don’t know if I’ve cut them enough to lose much weight at this level of (in) activity.

Enjoy the brownie if you have it @TheBitchOfTheVicar!

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 13/07/2020 22:19

@kirstinm @Egghead68 I didn't eat it and I feel triumphant! Also hungry.

Egghead68 · 14/07/2020 06:46

Good on you @TheBitchOfTheVicar!

Day 2 for me of trying to lose weight. Weight 69.8kg BMI 22.7. Plan:

B: Cake 330 + cherries 140
L: Lentil curry 400, veg 200, chutney 100
D: 300 cals tba
25 mins on bike, 6000+ steps

Hope everyone has a good day.

Swearwolf · 14/07/2020 06:52

Ok, weighing regularly isn't going to work for me, I just fluctuate too much! Just weighed myself and I was 4lb heavier than two days ago, which just can't be accurate. It's either water weight or my scales are terrible! I'm not going to be able to measure loss a pound at a time this way, I'm going to have to force myself to leave much longer gaps and focus on how I'm feeling instead.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 14/07/2020 07:10

Thanks @Egghead68

Plan today:

Breakfast avocado on sourdough 500
Lunch fruit and veg soup 400
Dinner broccoli and kale story fry 500
Snack 100

Walk 1.5 hrs

Today is my last full day of term - I'm a teacher - and will be stuck in front of a screen much of the day. From tomorrow I'll be able to do more in the way of pirates, which I love.

Have a good day everyone.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 14/07/2020 07:11

As well as doing more pirates, I shall also be doing more pilates 🙄

SecularPanic · 14/07/2020 07:32

Doing pirates sounds more fun, and would burn up more calories.

SecularPanic · 14/07/2020 07:33

Swearwolf, could you weigh daily, then work out the weekly average and log that?

SecularPanic · 14/07/2020 07:35

I've woken up ravenous. Can't decide whether to have breakfast (so break the 16:8) or allow myself more calories later so I'm not so hungry tomorrow. I only had 1000 yesterday and was planning on 1200.

Swearwolf · 14/07/2020 08:47

@SecularPanic I could, but seeing the numbers go up really sets me back! I feel like if I wait longer and manage to steadily lose some, next time I weigh it will have definitely gone down. I'm not explaining myself well. I mean, if my current weight range is 10.2-10.6, if I can wait until I've got down to 9.12-10.2, even if the scale says the higher weight it won't bum me out.

SecularPanic · 14/07/2020 08:58

Makes sense. The psychology of it is so important isn't it. I'm post menopause and my weight is a lot more stable now (but harder to lose) but any stall makes it harder to stay positive.

Michelleoftheresistance · 14/07/2020 10:45

From tomorrow I'll be able to do more in the way of pirates, which I love.

Now there's a form of exercise I could really get behind!

kirstinm · 14/07/2020 12:00

I could feel myself wavering last night/this morning. Annoyed I ate those crackers but at least I stopped myself before it got worse. Been out walking this morning and had my lunch already, a bit out of sorts as my boyfriend is going back to work tomorrow. I guess my motivation was bound to wobble a bit - just need to keep on keeping on.

So much of it really is psychology/mental isn't it?

SecularPanic · 14/07/2020 13:13

Egghead and BitchofaVicar your menus look lovely. I can no longer lose weight on 1500 calories, sadly.

kirstinm · 14/07/2020 13:42

Also I ordered an apple watch and it just arrived (just the basic model). I am loving the little goals you have to achieve each day for various fitness things - there's one for exercise and another for daily movement. I am really motivated by things like that as there is like a bullseye that fills in for the day as you complete it.

TheNewLook · 14/07/2020 14:38

From tomorrow I'll be able to do more in the way of pirates, which I love

I’m thinking Johnny Depp in his heyday.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 14/07/2020 15:00

@SecularPanic I'd be a bit desperate if I couldn't. Though it is getting harder. Shit, isn't it?

So far so good here - no sign of any pirates yet though Grin

notnearlythereyet · 14/07/2020 15:18

Hello! It has been 7 days since I’ve last posted and I have lost... wait for it... 2.5 pounds! Am now at 10st 1.5pound and intending to keep going. Been running/walking most days and eating bwtween 1000-1200 kcal a day. I never used to lose eating this much so maybe eight week of running is catching up with me and my muscles are actually speeding up my metabolism now! Who knows!
Well done everyone and let’s keep going!

Egghead68 · 14/07/2020 15:40

@SecularPanic I am not sure I can lose weight on 1500 calories either (menopausal, wfh and unable to exercise properly atm). Time will tell... I think I’d find it almost impossible to eat less though.

Egghead68 · 14/07/2020 21:46

God I’m hungry... it’s only day 2 proper for me. Hope this gets easier.

Plan for tomorrow:
B: Raspberries 50 Melon 50 Cake 330
L: Leftover lentils 200 Rice 200 Veg 100 Chutney 100
D: A couple of prunes 50 50g cashews 320
Abs and gentle cardio class
