Anyone want to join to lose up to a stone?

I have 10-14lbs to lose to start feeling comfortable in myself again. I'm 5' 6.

9 stone is my fighting weight but I'm at least 10 stone now, and I know it's going to continue creeping up.

I look at threads already going on here but when lots of people are already on I feel like I get lost on it Grin

So I'm aiming to start Monday, not sure what plan I'll be following yet, but will have to eat less and exercise more as I've noticed my thighs are rubbing a little and got some fat on my back etc.

Glad you enjoyed it @kirstinm. You deserve it after all that walking and exercise! Sounds like you had a completely lovely day.

CilantroChili · 12/07/2020 03:35

Hello everyone!! Hope you’re all well... I had a good week and saw another 2lbs down BUT I’m spending the weekend with family. Today was an Afternoon Tea in nice hotel and omg... demolished it. Pizza last night. And chocolate. Oh well. Back on the horse on Monday.

Egghead68 · 12/07/2020 09:28

Morning. 70.7kg this am. Official weigh in tomorrow. Goal for next week is to get to under 70kg.

Hope everyone has a good day.

SmallPinkBear · 12/07/2020 11:03

Morning everyone, I have (after months of trying) finally found my motivation and managed to stick to my calorie target and done a workout everyday. I definitely think that it is because of you all... looking forward to weigh day tomorrow (though I am going out for lunch today).

Bolandsbiccies · 12/07/2020 11:08

I’d love to join you folks? You’ve inspired me to tackle the tummy bulge. My lockdown weight has crept up to over 12st which is the heaviest I have ever been. I am severely lacking in willpower and motivation as well.

PurplePansy05 · 12/07/2020 11:10

C25K week one complete!

Pleased to report throughout this week we've been eating much better as well. Three treats, but all of them planned and we made sure to move more and eat even lighter on these days. Feeling a lot better mentally and physically than a week ago. On to week two! 🙌 Good luck, everyone!!!

kirstinm · 12/07/2020 11:10

@Egghead68 thank you! It was a really good day. I enjoyed the pizza and I didn’t feel all horrible and bloated after it like i often do, not sure how much of that was mental. Out walking at the moment and planning a healthy day, soup and crackers for lunch then salmon and veg for dinner. We are pretty much the same weight I think, I weighed at 11 stone 2 on Monday when I started. What is your goal?

Have a good day all.

OooErrThor · 12/07/2020 11:26

Morning everyone - so far so good, an hour's walk this morning and I'm managing to stick to two meals a day.

I'm ignoring my no alcohol rule on a weekend otherwise everything else would go awry!

It's going to a fab week weather wise next week so I'll have no excuse to not exercise - I'm weighing myself Monday morning.

Keep up the good work everyone Grin

Mustardpot · 12/07/2020 11:31

Morning everyone and welcome Bolandbiccies, just set small goals, 7 lbs at a time and you will get there, clear out cupboards of rubbish and fake the motivation if you have to. I think we’ve all gained during lockdown on this thread. Maybe try writing down what you hate about being this weight and why you want to lose?

Feeling well here, joined a giving up alcohol thread as it is key to my night time snacking.

B Coffee
L Spoon of peanut butter
D Cold roast chicken and big salad

Forgot it was weigh in tomorrow! Kudos to all those walking miles and exercising so much, I will try and get going next week.

Swearwolf · 12/07/2020 11:52

Morning everyone! Sounds like you're all doing brilliantly. I'm mostly managing quite well, though we had a bbq last night and I consumed way too many calories. Two big glasses of wine and a gin, a burger in a bun with cheese, couple of other meaty things and a slice of lemon tart. Damn. But I'm writing it off as a small setback and firmly back on the wagon now. Going to try and make time for another bike ride later on.

Notgoingouttoday · 12/07/2020 11:58

I would like to join you. I'm 5'3" and feeling dreadful at 10 stone 9lbs. I would rather be 9 stone as I am small framed but a stone off to start with would be good. I am limited in exercise options as I have a bad back so need to start something gentle. I am getting to set to start tomorrow by having a clear out of the fridge today.

Mustardpot · 12/07/2020 12:07

Notgoingouttoday welcome, clearing out fridge is a great start. I haven’t been exercising since I started 6 days ago (laziness) and am still losing. I think it’s more what you eat for weight loss. However I intend to try and get on the cross trainer next week as exercise is great at keeping me calm and focussed. I sympathise with the bad back, bit of a recurring problem for me and DH.

LivingMyBestLifeNOT · 12/07/2020 12:32

Hello everyone, please can I join? My weight has crept up, I want to lose a stone and a half. My downfall is drinking a bottle of wine a night, its got into a habit and I dont know how to break it. I work out a lot and do spin classes at home.
What does everyone do in the evenings? I feel like I need a hobby

Egghead68 · 12/07/2020 12:55

@kirstinm I think we are both shielders too! I would like to get back to my weight at the start of lock-down which was 63kg (about 10 stone I think). My eating’s been a bit out of control with shielding, long-tail covid (contracted just before shielding) and inability to exercise. I’d worked hard to get down to 63kg from 74kg last October and don’t want to see all my good work undone!

Egghead68 · 12/07/2020 12:58

@LivingMyBestLifeNOT how about exercising in the evening? That will (hopefully) stop you drinking those nights. If you want an incentive, a bottle of wine a night (about 70 units a week when the recommended max is 14) will be significantly increasing your chance of breast cancer.

LivingMyBestLifeNOT · 12/07/2020 13:04

Thanks egghead!
Yes I did think of doing my exercise in the evenings. I normally workout everyday.
I know, I’m consuming so many units 😢

kirstinm · 12/07/2020 13:17

@Swearwolf that's the attitude! Just a little setback (and I'm sure it was worth it, sounds great!) and you can get back on it today!

@LivingMyBestLifeNOT Oh, I'm the same in the evening. I call it the danger zone lol.

@Egghead68 yes, I am! A big part of this weight loss kick is health related (I won't lie - a bigger part is probably vanity!) I can definitely be in better shape, and it's got to help my medical conditions. We've literally put on the same amount of weight in lockdown, sounds a very similar situation all round! I'm hoping I can get down to around 10 stone fairly easily by moving more - but in all honesty I wasn't totally happy then so I'd like to get a bit lower. I'm very unhappy with the way i look generally just now - I think I look middle aged and frumpy. :-( but I know the weight is the biggest part of it.

Bolandsbiccies · 12/07/2020 14:48

@Mustardpot thank you. I’m tired of trying to squeeze into my clothes so that and getting fitter are my motivation.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 13/07/2020 07:04

Ok well I have just weighed in, after doing what I usually do, which is not being great and disappearing.

I went up and down in the week but ultimately went from. 10.5.5 to 10.5.2 due to eating a HUGE homemade pizza which was so large it kept me awake a lot of sat night with tummy ache. And now am bunged up too (sorry!).

Lesson learned: I won't do that again! A better week looms.

I hope you a have successful days.

Swearwolf · 13/07/2020 07:27

@TheBitchOfTheVicar that's great, well done, it's going in the right direction! Without wanting to sound rude, maybe worth weighing again after you've been to the loo as I bet that's making a difference!

Chocolatecake12 · 13/07/2020 07:30

Well done to everyone loosing
I actually put on weight
11.4.8 so up 2 oz
It’s not a surprise really, fish and chips, wine and Prosecco this week plus an ice cream at the beach yesterday Blush
But this weeks a new week! I’m planning on getting in more steps - maybe a couple of evening walks.
Looking forward to a better week

Swearwolf · 13/07/2020 07:31

I didn't weigh this morning, I didn't eat as well as I'd have liked over the weekend and find it really demotivating to see the number going up, which is a possibility if I'm on the cusp. I plan to eat well all week (ha!) and weigh when I start to feel like I'm doing well. I'm worried that if I don't see it go down, I'll lose my mojo and start snacking and drinking again!

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 13/07/2020 07:40

Thanks @Swearwolf - usually I wouldn't weigh unless naked and had been to the toilet Blush

@Chocolatecake12 it's so easy to eat too much and say, I can see why I didn't lose weight, isn't it? Annoying that I'll have to try harder!

Have eaten watermelon and prunes for breakfast, with a delicious jersey gold top cup of tea, and have crudites and cashews for lunch at work. Broccoli and kale stir fry for tea and a run with a friend.

Have a good day everyone!

Swearwolf · 13/07/2020 07:47

@TheBitchOfTheVicar I'm exactly the same! And it has to be before breakfast too!

I'm having coffee and overnight oats for breakfast, then plan to have absolutely no snacks as that's always my downfall. Trying to hold out as long as possible for breakfast so it won't be such a long stretch to lunch!

Swearwolf · 13/07/2020 07:48

@Chocolatecake12 great attitude, I hope you have a good week this week!
