Anyone want to join to lose up to a stone?

I have 10-14lbs to lose to start feeling comfortable in myself again. I'm 5' 6.

9 stone is my fighting weight but I'm at least 10 stone now, and I know it's going to continue creeping up.

I look at threads already going on here but when lots of people are already on I feel like I get lost on it Grin

So I'm aiming to start Monday, not sure what plan I'll be following yet, but will have to eat less and exercise more as I've noticed my thighs are rubbing a little and got some fat on my back etc.

@Mustardpot I'm exactly the same! A small boned apple too, formerly 8 and a half stone, but I genuinely don't know if I could be that light again. I find it hard to guess how large I would be at various weights. I just know that I feel completely comfortable at 9 stone 3, so aiming for about 9 and a half will put me close to that without feeling unachievable.

I just baked with the children and have a banana loaf cooling down right near where I am working at the kitchen table. It is taking a heck of a lot of willpower to ignore it! I want to make a cup of tea but suspect the lack of tea is the only thing stopping me having a piece.

Also, I was looking back on my history in MyFitnessPal, and found it very depressing. Almost 4 years of up and down the same amount. And right at the start, when I first signed up, was the huge weight I was desperate to slim down from at the time - yep, lighter than I am now!

OooErrThor · 10/07/2020 14:38

@Swearwolf me too!

I use my FitBit and I'm exactly the same weight two years ago as I am now, I just lose some weight then put it on, lose it and put it on. I need to break the cycle and lose it full stop!

Mustardpot · 10/07/2020 15:17

Snap! Just checked my app for weight tracking, in the three years I’ve used it I have gone up and down the same 20 lbs. Not sure what I think of that! I’m going to keep trying anyway as even if I lived on a desert island in a grass skirt I just feel uncomfortable at this weight.

Egghead68 · 10/07/2020 18:06

Tomorrow’s non-over-eating (not yet weight loss) plan:
Greek salad no dressing 300
Sweet potato fries 350
Roast veg 150
Cauliflower cheese 250
3 Figs 150
Vanilla fat free yoghurt 250
Frozen cherries 150
Scoop ice-cream 250

Quite a good day again, probably could have done a bit more exercise as no more after my 12,000 steps and my day is very sedentary at the moment apart from walking. Hoping to get that up a bit next week. Think I'm on my calories or thereabouts as well.

Do you guys put tea/coffee into MFP (if you drink it)? I'm trying to stick to peppermint but do have the odd cup of normal tea (maybe two a day) and usually one coffee with a dash of milk and haven't really been logging this.

Swearwolf · 10/07/2020 19:22

I put coffee in, because I drink it with milk, but don't bother for tea as I usually have green tea.

I am very pleased with myself today as I actually did a yoga! A few months ago I was doing yoga almost every day and in the last couple of months, I've done none. My motivation just went. I feel better for it and hopefully it will be the start of a more regular practice again.

OooErrThor · 11/07/2020 07:58

@pigear I've started a yoga/Pilates/stretching routine every morning, it's made a difference and I'm only on day 3! Think it's all psychological but I'm going with it.

I'm afraid I fell off the non alcohol wagon spectacularly last night and also had a take away pizza, however I did do a run in the morning and so calories were still in deficit just

I have two pairs of trousers which I love but can't quite fasten so that's my goal, to zip them up with ease 🤞

Egghead68 · 11/07/2020 08:09

I do yoga and pilates. I don’t think they help directly with weight-loss but I think they help indirectly by making me more body-aware and generally a bit more mindful.

Egghead68 · 11/07/2020 08:54

Ok I bit the bullet and weighed myself. 71.2kg but I am wearing gym kit and have drunk a litre of (decaf) coffee and eaten breakfast. I am hoping my real weight is more like 70.5kg (sob - It was 63kg in April pre being bed-bound for months with covid).

Egghead68 · 11/07/2020 08:58

My BMI was 23 (was around 20).

Egghead68 · 11/07/2020 08:58

Is 23

Chocolatecake12 · 11/07/2020 09:13

Ahhhhgggggggg
So yesterday we ended up going out to friends for a couple of glasses of fizz then stopped off for fish and chips in the way home Blush
I’m feeling a bit cross with myself but it was very yummy and today’s another day!

Swearwolf · 11/07/2020 09:27

I had a crunchie last night - I didn't even want it, but DH brought it back from the shops and I was just going to have a bit. And two glasses of wine. Am magically still 10 stone 2 this morning, hooray! Not going to see this as having fallen off the wagon - it's all too tempting to be like 'fuck it, I've already broken it, let's go nuts', which is where I usually fall down mentally. Daily weighing is actually helping right now!

Swearwolf · 11/07/2020 09:29

@Chocolatecake12 today is a new day. Just carry on - in the grand scheme of the week, fizz and chips won't have made too much difference. And I strongly believe that having treats once in a while will help this be sustainable long term!

Mustardpot · 11/07/2020 10:59

Hi everyone, we survived Friday night urge to go mad. Pretty good day for me yesterday other than I am not exercising, at all, not even dog walk. I had tomatoes and green salad for lunch and roast veg for dinner. Really enjoyed it too.

3 days no alcohol which is the best I have done since dry January. Hurrah. Still sleeping dreadfully which I assume is a withdrawal thing! I may shuffle over to an alcohol support thread.

Plan for weekend is chicken and salad for dinner, boiled egg or tomatoes and feta salad for lunch (both days).

Swearwolf I am weighing daily too and 10st 1.5 lbs this morning, we are neck in neck Grin.

Egghead68 · 11/07/2020 11:52

You are doing so well (I’m trying not to be depressed that most people on here’s current weight is the same as my end goal!)

Mustardpot · 11/07/2020 12:07

Egghead68 weight is so weird and how we carry it, no point comparing with different body shapes, my oldest pal is always well into the 11stones and wears M&S knickers two sizes smaller than me, we are the same height. I assume it’s to do with our frame or muscles, I have no idea. She is so much slimmer than me but I always weigh less than her, we’ve known each other 30 years and can’t figure it out.

Egghead68 · 11/07/2020 12:27

Thanks @mustardpot. Very true!

Egghead68 · 11/07/2020 12:50

I have taken most of the junk food off Monday’s Tesco delivery. It’s the only way I can get food (I am shielding) so hopefully this will force me to eat reasonably healthily.

Swearwolf · 11/07/2020 14:35

@Egghead68 it's definitely the way - I lost a few lb back in March when we were self isolating and having to ration out food. Just make sure you have plenty of fruit etc to replace it with or you'll be hungry!

And I totally agree that weight is relative. I'm very short and small framed, so my current weight puts me firmly in the overweight category.

Swearwolf · 11/07/2020 14:50

Just got back from a bike ride- 11.5km, 600 calories burnt apparently! Woohoo, that's my wine for tonight 😁

Egghead68 · 11/07/2020 17:06

600 calories burnt is great!

I stepped my way through an exercise class (can’t do high impact at the moment) and walked for an hour.

Tomorrow’s plan:
Stuffed mushrooms 600
Celeriac mash 200
Butter beans 300
Carrots & swede 200
Cherries 150
Exercise class & walk
Weigh in and start of diet proper for me on Monday.

kirstinm · 11/07/2020 20:14

Well, I had my dominos and it was lush! I had a small veggie with no cheese and I have to say I ate every bit. My mum and dad were over for the day which was nice, I also ate a macaron that they brought me which I had not accounted for, but it was very nice.

My step count today was....wait for it....28,000! Two five mile walks and a short youtube workout. So while I'm definitely over calories for the day I'm hoping it won't ruin the whole week and fingers crossed I can still have a loss on Monday.

Well done on the exercise @Swearwolf and @Egghead68 and on the diet @Mustardpot your weekend food sounds very healthy!
