I'm starting a new thread here as nobody has been posting on our old one(s) for a couple of days. Just wondering how everyone is doing (and if there are any new MNers out there who are also SW members--welcome!)
I've been a member since 15 June and am now just one teensy weensy pound away from my very first stone award. But at times it has been an uphill struggle so it's been great to share my journey with everyone here. Would love to hear from everyone else.

pasta, spring onion, toms, celery, healthy extra of ham or chicken and mix tom sauce with mayo(count sins) to form sauce, add vinigar or water to dilute and pour over, mix up and eat! gorgeous hot or cold..warning you might eat the full bowl!

ja9 · 04/11/2004 22:35

MrsMW

sorry uv no willpower and feeling fed up.. have u been on SW long? had any success?

i've just gone back on it on monday, fancy buddying me for the month? we could 'race' each other each week?

anyone else up for it too?

ja9 · 04/11/2004 22:36

the pasta one with tom sauce and mayo

please

MrsMiaWallace · 04/11/2004 22:40

i used to use around 250g pasta, chop two toms, handful of s.onions a stick of celery and maybe couple of chopped up cucumber, mix them into cooked pasta. add however much ham/chicken your allowed these days on heathy extra then mix tom sauce and mayo(measure dependant on how many sins you want to use?) and make runny with viniger/water. pour over and mix until all pasta covered.
also works really well if you replace meat with prawns, but again will have to account for them?

sorry didnt see last poat, am not on s.w now, been on and off more times than i can remember, but dont have the inclination to do anything about it now! eat rubbish all day and constantly feel guilty but it doesnt stop me, i actually lost weight when preeg and have since piled it all on. i need a defining moment i think!

ja9 · 04/11/2004 22:47

ah well mrs MW....

ta for recipe. will try it.

We are always advised at our SW class: if you feel tempted with something naughty to eat, stop and think. Do you really NEED that something as much as you WANT to be slim. Good bit of advice I reckon. Has worked for me but if I do slip up I enjoy what I have had and think it's a new day tomorrow - I can start again.

I started SW yesterday. I hope I can work it all out as I have asked advice from a friend. It feels a bit like Atkins on Original days and I'm not too sure about that. I love that I can eat as much fruit as I want, as that always had to be counted on WW.

ja9 · 06/11/2004 14:32

assumpta - its nothing like atkins on original days, as you can eat unlimited veg (&fruit).. so very healthy - definitely NOT like atkins..

good luck with it. it's harduntil you get into it and have a better idea of what you are allowed and what you aren't. it is imo a FANTASTIC eating plan and totally doable, so stick with it...

having said that, i had a bad day yesterday , but back on track today (fingers crossed)

sparkler1 · 06/11/2004 18:28

Christie - I get the Apple and Cinnamon mullerlights from ASDA and Somerfield. They are lush.

sparkler1 · 06/11/2004 18:30

It's hard going tonight. My hubbie is gonna have a chinese takeaway tonight. I am trying to avoid having one. Willpower. Not sure if I am going to give in. I shouldn't really as my weigh in is on Monday. I will regret it after I have had it. I have to be strong!

Arabica · 06/11/2004 22:56

Not having good weekendstressed out with work and can't stop picking. Have eaten loads todaynearly all of it syn free, but still feel stuffed, and disappointed with self for overeating.
I got my baked apple Mullerlights from Sainsburys, and am desperate for more!

Arabica - don't feel guilty for eating syn free stuff. Good on you. Wish I was as good as you. I managed to stay away from the chinese takeaway last night (chuffed to bits), but did manage to delve into the kids sweet box a few times last night (not so good). You can eat as much syn free stuff as you like.

sparkler1 · 07/11/2004 09:27

Yum. Just had a bacon and eggs for breakfast and all syn free too. mmm mmm.

assumpta · 07/11/2004 12:15

Can anyone tell me how to work out the syns on cornflakes or something similar. With the mullerlites can you eat these syn free no problem?

sparkler1 · 07/11/2004 12:53

Hi assumpta. Mullerlites are totally syn free and you can eat as many as you like. Great eh?
I work out the syn values of stuff via the SW website. They have a syn calculator on there. Do you go to a SW class? Each week the consultant will give you a password to log on to it. You have to enter the nuritional facts and it works the syns out for you.

assumpta · 07/11/2004 13:54

At the moment I am unable to get to class, so have borrowed a book from a friend who used to go. I should be able to get to class in about 2 weeks, but really want to start now.
