I'm starting a new thread here as nobody has been posting on our old one(s) for a couple of days. Just wondering how everyone is doing (and if there are any new MNers out there who are also SW members--welcome!)
I've been a member since 15 June and am now just one teensy weensy pound away from my very first stone award. But at times it has been an uphill struggle so it's been great to share my journey with everyone here. Would love to hear from everyone else.

I am really curious about this new version of food optimising--hope it isn't too complex to follow. I think a change is good though, especially if Xmas/NY meant a bit of a gain. It'll feel like a fresh start.

I am starting back on wednesday - haven't been for weeks due to broken foot and any other excuse I could think of! Bought a jumper and a blouse today and they're both tight so I am determined that this weight will come off - disgusted with myself at the moment

SPARKLER1 · 02/01/2005 23:51

I am doing really badly. SW has been far away from my thoughts all over christmas. Think I'm gonna really have to push myself to get back on. I want to carry on. Think the biggest problem at the moment is that we still have a few christmas bits and pieces hanging around. Guess I could just leave them to the kids to munch on! Dh doesn't get paid until end of next week which is when I shall do my big shop. So not much healthy stuff around to nibble on until then. Still got another bottle of Baileys to work my way through too (can't really let dds polish that off though )

Right Christie - how's it going? I have been very good so far - probably more because of the fact that I have my weight in tonight .

Omelette for breakfast with ketchup
Banana
Mullerlight apple and cin yog

Keep reaching for the ferrero rocher - telling myself NO

SPARKLER1 · 03/01/2005 12:15

Why is a chicken salad sandwich 20.5 syns on both red and green days?

And why is a low fat version still 20.5 syns?

huh? huh? ... doesn't make sense to me

(it is 6 syns you take off for using a healthy option B isn't it)

SPARKLER1 · 03/01/2005 16:27

Blimey - it's gone out the window again. Took dd to cinema and the nachos with cheese were calling me - a few fruit pastilles jumped into my mouth too . Well the day started of okay. Can't believe I scoffed all that I am getting weighted in 1 1/2 hours!

SPARKLER1 · 03/01/2005 16:29

Twiglett - didn't realise there were that many syns in that sandwich - even if it had a bit of LF spread shouldn't amount to that? Yes, the book does say deduct 6 syns if using has HE.
Christie - No I don't work. Am a FT mum and housewife. Your job sounds very interesting although hard work. Hope you aren't too busy tomorrow.

Went back to work today - promised to be good today - was I? No - because there were three boxes of chocolates in the office which had to be eaten - feel sick Tomorrow is another day and Wednesday is my weigh in

Twiglett · 03/01/2005 18:14

Sparkler .. it was a shop-bought sarnie so I just looked up the average non-branded .. however I've since plugged in the Sainsbury's chicken salad deep fill and that was only 18.5, which taking away 6 still leaves me a biscuit

Arabica · 03/01/2005 20:28

You guys are making me feel so much better about all my lapses over the hols. Today was doing fine until took DS for food in cafe and ate half his (buttered white bread and cheddar) sarnie, then at least 3 more chunky bits of cheese when making a cup of coffee at home. I think I get hypnotised by cheese fumes--I don't REALLY want to eat it but it kind of ends up in my mouth! Anyway weigh-in tomorrow...reckon I have put on 8lbs...

SPARKLER1 · 03/01/2005 21:10

2lb on tonight. Feeling really depressed about it. I had reached a 1 stone 10 1/2lb weight loss am now only at a 1 stone 4 1/2lb loss now.
Have got to get my arse in gear - I need some encouragement. Before I know it the weight will all be back on.

ladymuck · 03/01/2005 21:17

But it is Christmas - you've done really well this far and I'm sure you'll lose again next week - it doesn't take that long to shift any Christmas pounds. Stay with it - you've done really well so far.

Sparkler .. you CAN do it .. you just need to get back into it .. you've proved you can do it .. just do it again

BTW Ladymuck .. did you go to the Science Museum today? I would've looked out for someone with children the age of yours, except absolutely everyone had pre-schoolers
