Following on from a certain posters 3 stone loss (well done!!) we are motivated and have dusted off our copies.

Sign up here, all are welcome. We can keep eachother company and help with motivation!

I have a huge amount of weight to shift, but my aim is 3 stone by the end of July (ready for next summer holiday)
I am hoping for 1 stone by Christmas, 1 stone by Easter and 1 stone by the Summer.

I am going to listen to the CD every night. I am also going to take a larger share of the dogwalking duties back from dh (I did this last time and the 45 minutes, 4 times a week really helped) I am also going to go swimming once a week.

I will only be weighing myself every two weeks (as per PMK's advice), and will report my loss here. (if I may)

[Isababel adds her name to the list wondering if she would have the will and strenght to lay down for 45 minutes a day to hear the CD]

Fimbles5 · 19/09/2007 21:04

Good Luck hippipotami and any other new joiners - you certainly sound motivated. Thanks for starting the new thread. Will also report any loss here, I need to lose 2 stone, so am with you for 1 stone by Christmas.

TheBlonde · 19/09/2007 21:06

I keep meaning to listen to the CD but DH doesn't like it

dinny · 19/09/2007 21:07

TheBlonde - put it on MP3 player?

3andnomore · 19/09/2007 21:13

The bLonde, I got myself a lil portable CD player (the walkman kind)...much better to listen to it that closesly anyway

LilRedWG · 20/09/2007 08:24

I've reserved it at the library and will join asap.

hippipotami · 20/09/2007 10:31

Hello all

TheBlonde - I have it on my MP3 player. I go up to bed half an hour before dh (he uses the time wisely to play on the computer ) and listen to it in bed.

Hello Fimbles5 - Great to have someone who shares the same goal! Have you started yet? I listened to it last night, but I think I fell asleep half way through

Am going to take the dog for a walk in a moment, am determined to be a stone lighter by Christmas. (not that it will be visually noticeable as I have way more to lose, but it is a start!)

I am due to weigh myself October 1st, so hope to have some good news to report then [fingers crossed emoticon]

I'll join - am listening to the Paul McKenna CD but not as much as I should. Have lost a stone and 4lbs so far.

MissTea4Me · 20/09/2007 10:37

Hi, I got the journal and am about 10 days in--can I join?

GroaningGameGirly · 20/09/2007 10:39

Can I just ask, when do you all find time to listen to the CD? I bought it months ago and have only listened to it once!

MissTea4Me · 20/09/2007 10:42

I have same problem as TheBlonde with DH; he calls it You Can Make Me Rich; desperate to prove him wrong!

hippipotami · 20/09/2007 12:53

Groaning - the only time I can make for the CD is before going to sleep. I listen to it in bed.

Hello MissTea and theclosedpagan

Is the control journal any good? What exactly is it?

Fimbles5 · 20/09/2007 13:54

Hello everyone. I listen to the CD before I go to bed. Like hippipotami I try to go up half an hour before hubby and listen to it then. I always tend to fall asleep, but I think it works anyway. Weighed in this morning, have been listening for two weeks and only missed one evening last Saturday, and this week lost 4lbs. Lost 2lbs last week (to update you!) so have now lost 6lbs in two weeks.
I have never known anything quite like this, and don't know why I haven't used it sooner. I feel so much better about myself. We can all do this, so who else is joining us for a stone by Christmas!! Dust off those copies and if you haven't got one go and buy one. Good Luck X

TheBlonde · 20/09/2007 14:49

Going to bed earlier is a good plan
I might try that tonight

Tottie32 · 20/09/2007 19:14

i listened for the first time in bed last night, i was so surprised when i came round when he was counting me awake as i was convinced i would just lay there and listen to the whole thing, but i was wrong,

i am a single mum so can listen to my heats content,
i do worry about not waking up from the trance and my girls being alone but i am sure this wouldnt happen

so do i listen every night?

hippipotami · 20/09/2007 20:27

Yup, every night Tottie!

I'll join. I've not really lost any weight so far but I've been excercing lots and have lost several inches and my bodyfat percentage has gone down as well.

I find that listening to it in the evening keeps me from snacking the next day. I too fall asleep to it but I always wake up at the end when he says to.

LilRedWG · 21/09/2007 08:49

I'm still waiting for mine. I'm a bit cinical (sp) - will it still work for me?

MyEye · 21/09/2007 09:44

I've never tried to diet, too greedy, but found myself ordering the book after countless MN threads (I could do with losing two stone). It all seems oddly sound and doable -- and novel too: good combination. I like the way he turns your thinking about food on its head, in a very positive way.
His voice made me scream with laughter the first time I listened to the CD, esp when it slows down and goes transatlantic and super-deep, but 2nd time around it barely registered as weird.
I went out to supper last night and didn't feel greedy (as I said, greed is my default setting). Early days though.

Fimbles5 · 21/09/2007 11:06

LilRedWG - It will work for you (Be positive!!). I was cynical too and to a certain extent still am. I can't believe that just by following the four rules you can lose weight. I have found that by 'stopping eating as soon as I feel full' has reduced my portion size dramatically. It is amazing to see how I have been overeating.

MissTea4Me · 21/09/2007 17:23

The journal basically has a little exercise to do every day and a checklist to check off every night (Did you eat when you were hungry? Did you eat what you really wanted? etc.) to review how you got on that day. Yesterday's exercise was really interesting: make up a plate with little bites of some of your favourite foods and then close your eyes and taste each one, taking time to smell it beforehand and really trying to make it last as you eat it. Stuff really tasted different-- a few things I thought I really loved just tasted very bland. Don't know if it'll really help keep me off those things but I've still got all the leftovers in the house (french bread, brownies etc.) and haven't troughed them like usual.

MissTea4Me · 21/09/2007 17:24

If anyone wants to try them I can post the daily exercises.

Moomin · 22/09/2007 15:04

So does it actually change your attitude towards food and promote a healthier relationship with food, or does it make you think that food tastes less appealing - or is a mix of the two (and some more besides)?

I'm thinking of trying it. I have a positive body image but I am overweight and would like to lose about 2 stones. The food I eat is generally very healthy but I am completely crap at portion control and I am very greedy! Since reading this thread the other day I have been trying to think about whether I eat when I'm not actually hungry, which has been ok, but I'm having difficulty stopping eating a meal when I'm full, iyswim (mostly because it seems so wasteful and I'm thinking it sets a bad example to the dds - but in fact it probably doesn't really does it?!). Would the programme help me with this hurdle?

hippipotami · 22/09/2007 16:32

MissTea4Me - yes, please could you post the daily exercises? Thank you
