Flapjack: I bunged some butter brown sugar golden syrup and a smidgey lunch of salt in a pan. Melted it. Then added a shit ton of oats and raisins and peanuts. Then bakes for 20 mins at 180 ish

Then melted some chocolate over the top.

I ate a piece this afternoon with a cup of tea. Yum.

Not2bObvious · 11/06/2020 15:39

I love lasagne, made it for the first time in ages last week. I love garlic bread too but can’t afford it from a diet perspective😔 I say that and then waste my calories on stupid junk when I’d be better just having the garlic bread.
Flapjack sounds most excellent. Ahhhhh so hungry today, stupid hormone headache too. Took a couple of paracetamol so hope it lifts soon. Dinner at 6

Managed 10k steps yesterday and on 1800 calories.

Didn't sleep well last night so today might be a struggle

Not2bObvious · 12/06/2020 07:27

Went a bit over on calories yesterday, just over 2000 - obviously it could have been much worse with totm looming, I managed to go to bed before real damage done. Getting up shortly to do my weekly weigh in. I’ve checked my calories in vs out & I “should” see a loss of between .4 and .6
Just hoping not to see a gain, although it’s wholly possible with fluid retention of course. If I do I can’t flip out, I must be patient

My diet is a write off atm but I'm still doing yoga each day and today I'll also do a fbw. Had a good sleep last night so that's something.

Not2bObvious · 12/06/2020 08:21

Difficult times wreck, and you are doing good keeping up with your activities. And hurrah for good sleep, I had a decent sleep too. I’m completely clueless when it comes to your condition, does it drive your food wants/needs? All I ever thought I knew about diabetes was to not have too much sugar but I honestly haven’t a clue. We do talk a lot of cake here! Himself bought me a doughnut and I’m in that kind of diet stage where I’m torn between being “good” and thinking I should be able to treat myself. I just worry I’d open the floodgates. I had promised myself a takeaway but I’m questioning that too.
Sorry yours wasn’t great life, hope you feel better as the day wears on and steps & cals were good yesterday so that’s a positive.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/06/2020 08:24

If you don't see the loss you are expecting at least you know it's totm temporary.

I'm a bit meh about fitness. Gone off weights as I don't have the proper kit. Hips are hurting from too much run type stuff. And let's not discuss pelvis area.

Pouring rain here so indoor steps

Not2bObvious · 12/06/2020 08:43

I think it’ll be indoor steps too here, forecast is pants
The scales result wasn’t what was expected at all, 1.8 down. Blown away. Of course that’s just 1 week, next week following my usual pattern would be a gain. Let’s see if can break the pattern.

It's tricky not officially guidance is eat what you like and cover the carbs with insulin but those in the know realise this is inefficient and leads to complications. Once the birthdays are out of the way I'm going to be much stricter on my low carb again because it's so much easier to control levels and I felt so much better (physically and mentally) for it. After lots of reading etc on it I really think everyone eats too many carbs and the government advice on 1/3 of each meal being starch carbohydrates causes a lot of health problems for people. I do think (non diabetic) people should eat carbs but not processed ones, or at least limit their intake of them to whole grain and smaller portions. But we all know it's easier said than done Grin

Not2bObvious · 12/06/2020 09:11

Thanks for taking the time to explain - I can see why low carb suits you. And from my time doing the fast 800, you can actually do it without losing your mind on v low calories by not having the processed carbs. On your 1200 or so you seem to get good value from the foods you talk about eating. But yeah best get the birthdays out the way first😉
Just worked out my doughnut is 350 cals, is it worth it? Chocolate drizzle with a Nutella type of filling.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 12/06/2020 12:02

Yes. Have the donut. Enjoy it.

This is my philosophy anyway. Eat what you enjoy in moderation.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/06/2020 12:04

No it's not worth it. But then I don't like donuts.

WreckTangled · 12/06/2020 12:09

I love doughnuts so would probably have it instead of lunch.

Not2bObvious · 12/06/2020 12:15

I compromised and swapped the chocolate for jam, ate half and gave the other half away. I’m not wasting my calories on substandard junk

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 12/06/2020 14:08

I've fallen at a chunky KitKat. And 5 rich tea. Bye bye calories. Oh and chipper lunch

Cold, tired and chained to the lap top are not helpful.

Not2bObvious · 12/06/2020 14:42

I’m making dinner rather than having a takeaway, gives me more room to enjoy some treats later.
Bloody miserable day, hope you enjoyed the chipper life? We’ve only had one in the last 3 months, our local one went utterly rubbish & I can’t be arsed to take the risk again.

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 12/06/2020 15:24

It was lovely. I shared with DD as it's very calorific

Not2bObvious · 12/06/2020 16:32

Prepped my dinner, now need to ride out my hunger pangs til then.
Made that satay sauce you shared a while ago happier, hasn’t thickened as well as before but it’s still delicious.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 12/06/2020 17:33

Oooh I could go a chippy tea.

We’re having pizzas (homemade). I’ve just made all the dough. Managed to get 10 balls of dough from one batch so three kept out and the rest in the freezer.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/06/2020 17:43

Curry and chipatt for tea. I just wanna eat and eat and eat

Happierwithouthim · 12/06/2020 19:27

Hi all
I think we're all in similar place this week, I've not been moving much both steps and ahem otherwise scales is stuck but at least it's not because I ate all the food!!!

Today I got a sizzler chicken burger for dinner on my way home as I was time poor & have no dc at home tonight and because work was magic, it wasn't great so I'm regretting not getting the chicken kebab which is always good and has loads of salad too Sad

I couldn't stop at one em so it's best I don't make them Grin but thanks for taking the time to explain what you do.

I've mastered sourdough #3 was good inside and out

Went a bit over (ok 400) but this was planned as part of my once a week weigh in and weigh in day blow out. Still around 400 cals under last Friday so that’s progress right? Let’s see if I can repeat the week going forward. Another 6 days away from the scales, must get easier. 15,000+ steps today

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 12/06/2020 20:59

I'm not telling you all what I've eaten today.

Tomorrow is a new day Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/06/2020 07:41

Yes that's good not.
Marginally down today. .
Going for a walk in a bit. Maybe weather dependent.
