lockdown assisted weight loss, join me?

I’m on day 4 of giving up chocolate and crisps. So far it’s going well. Lockdown is definitely helping, no nipping to the shop to get snacks or sandwiches. I’ve lost 1.3kg this first week. I’m cooking everyday and eating healthy food.

I’m hoping to continue after lockdown too. Must lose weight, my starting weight was 172.6kg. My goal weight is 90kg. Hopefully going to Disney once I’ve lost the weight, that’s my reward.

Anyone Want to join me? What’s your goal and is lock down helping you?

Today:

Lunch: Onion soup - 150
Courgette fritter - 50
Pear - 100
Slice of cake - 150

Dinner: Leafy greens with dressing - 150
Emmental cheese - 100
Pitta - 250
Stawberries - 50
Yoghurt - 50
Slice of cake - 150

Total: 1200. Cool. I didn't do any skipping but spent ages in the sea the am and had a really long bedroom disco this evening.

duckduckgosling · 11/05/2020 09:57

Weigh week 6 (start day 30th March) and it's -3lb

Total loss = 20lb

Happy with that.

Good luck everyone weighing today.

lovinglavidaloca · 11/05/2020 10:44

That’s an amazing loss in that time frame Duck!

Mine is coming off much slower unfortunately.

Five off today. Total loss since 6th April is 7lbs.

buckeejit · 11/05/2020 10:48

Brilliant duck, I'm so looking forward to getting to your stage.

Week 2 completed here & 4lb off. After staying the same the first week this has given me a real boost!

I've written down some stepping stone goals iro weight & taken measurements, (that was perhaps even more alarming than the weight!). In the hope that if I get disheartened by one set of figures I can fall back on the others!

I've given up the calorie counting & mostly trying to be healthier & not worry about how much oil dh is using when he cooks etc.

Can't wait to actually see a difference & suppose I should take a photo now. I'm quite averse to photos so will have to grin & bear it!

wombatsandaplant · 11/05/2020 13:35

Ive lost 1.6 kg this week, yay.

1.8 down this week so I feel back on track

LaneBoy · 11/05/2020 18:37

(That’s lb not kg!)

I am also feeling a bit better since realising I can eat and not feel hungry by having decent size meals and puddings etc, it’s just the amount of times I eat that seems to make the biggest difference for me. Until a few months ago not snacking was unheard of for me but now as long as I keep busy I can happily go hours. Never thought that would happen!

lovinglavidaloca · 11/05/2020 18:59

Well done Wombat and Lane! Helps to keep you going doesn’t it.

buckeejit · 11/05/2020 19:24

I agree - amazing how much of the snacking was habit rather than hunger & it always manisfested to me as hunger!

Pickles89 · 11/05/2020 23:26

Today:

Breakfast: Fruity porridge - 300

Lunch: Red pepper dip - 100
Lettuce - negligible

Dinner: Broccoli - 100
Homemade healthy(ish) pesto - 300
Banana - 100
Yoghurt - 100
Cake - 150

Total: 1150. I might have some strawberries in a bit but I'm lovely and full at the mo! No skipping today as my knees are playing up - not sure they like me doing cardio on them! I did have a longish walk and a workout though.

rivierliedje · 12/05/2020 18:30

I find that too Lane. When I'm not in the habit of snacking, I lose weight easily and don't notice. WHen I get in the habit of snacking again (like now), I put the weight back on. It's trying to get out of the habit again that"s difficult. I haven't lost weight this week, but also not put anything on, which I'll count as a win during my period.

lovinglavidaloca · 12/05/2020 19:50

@Pickles89 you’re like me always making sure you have a wee treat or two each day. Only way to do it!

Pickles89 · 12/05/2020 20:07

@lovinglavidaloca I have to, or I'd just give up! I'm still addicted to sugar unfortunately. I'm being quite good to not scarf the entire cake cupboard at once though!

Pickles89 · 12/05/2020 23:47

Today:

Breakfast: Green smoothie - 100

Lunch: Onion soup -150
Steamed parsnip - 100

Dinner: Avocado - 350
Romano pepper - 50
Lettuce - negligible
Flatbread - 100
Plum - 50
Yoghurt - 50
Cake - 150

Total: 1100

I am sooo full I could burst! It was the bloody parsnip! Incredibly filling.

I've been for a mega long hike today, and had a splosh in the sea. I did participate in Joe Wicks but very halfheartedly as I was pretty damn knackered by that point! Hopefully I'll sleep well tonight!

wombatsandaplant · 13/05/2020 13:38

Ive lost a total of 7kg now since 30th March, woo.

I’ve just bought a new Fitbit, it’s much smaller than my old one so will be more comfy to wear I hope.

lovinglavidaloca · 13/05/2020 13:59

That’s fantastic Wombats! I bought a fitness tracker when i started all of this at the beginning of April and it’s been the best money I’ve spent in a long time.

duckduckgosling · 13/05/2020 20:07

Well done @wombatsandaplant that's great :)

Pickles89 · 13/05/2020 22:53

Today:

Breakfast: Small helping of dry cereal - 100

Lunch: 2 x bread rolls - 400
Red pepper dip - 100
Lettuce and celery - negligible

Dinner: Mushrooms - 100
Sun dried tomatoes in oil - 300
Onions - negligible
Houmous - 200
Pear - 100
Cake - 150

Total: 1450!! Eek, that wasn't planned! I feel like I've been trampled by an angry rhinoceros today, so done little nothing but lie in bed, besides a dog walk and a lazy version of Joe Wicks. Tomorrow will be better

Merename · 14/05/2020 08:38

Are you not well @Pickles89? Hope you feel better today. Weighed in today for first week and lost 3lb, AND did first c25k run this morning so feel great! I guess everyone starts off like this tho and it’s keeping it up. Will stay inspired by the rest of you who are doing so well.

myfuckingfreezer · 14/05/2020 10:24

I found the secret to weight loss. I've lost more in the last 2 days than in the 2 week before.

My secret? Spend all day having vigorous sex and completely forget to eat. Makes you quite lightheaded but the scales love you for it Grin

Maria53 · 14/05/2020 11:21

Don't rub it in @myfuckingfreezer, some of us are single and working all day in lockdown. Tho I'm sure you're right...

Well I've went from 12st 6.8lbs to 12st 7.2lbs today (which is down from 9.8lbs last week) but really - still not much of a loss in a month is it?

I thought I would have lost more than this having cut pasta, bread and only having a small amount of potatoes a week. Also chucked sweet treats apart from dark chocolate. I mean really? 😐

I'll keep on keepin on and try some new recipes but I thought I'd have resultd to keep me motivated by now

Pickles89 · 14/05/2020 12:38

@Merename Thanks for asking! I'm ok thanks, I just think I've overdone it a bit. I was diagnosed with ME 10 years ago, and while I'd like to pretend I'm better, at times when I push myself my body likes to remind me that I'm not!

Maria53 · 14/05/2020 17:38

I weighed in again just there ans I'm back down to 12st 6.8lbs again! Is that really possible in a single day or are my scales at it?

If anyone has any good reading or resources on this I'd be keen to see them
