lockdown assisted weight loss, join me?

I’m on day 4 of giving up chocolate and crisps. So far it’s going well. Lockdown is definitely helping, no nipping to the shop to get snacks or sandwiches. I’ve lost 1.3kg this first week. I’m cooking everyday and eating healthy food.

I’m hoping to continue after lockdown too. Must lose weight, my starting weight was 172.6kg. My goal weight is 90kg. Hopefully going to Disney once I’ve lost the weight, that’s my reward.

Anyone Want to join me? What’s your goal and is lock down helping you?

I agree about not being able to nip to the shops/grab a lunch/drink (latte/wine!) is helping enormously. I had a week at the beginning of lockdown where I went a bit crazy with food but I realised this was a great opportunity to make some positive changes.

I've lost 4lbs in the last fortnight which I'm really pleased with which puts me at 13 st 10lbs.

HotCrossBungle · 20/04/2020 11:01

Also, can I say, if you've got young DC it's really really hard to fit in exercise so anything at all is a plus!

LaneBoy · 20/04/2020 11:04

Put on 1.6lb 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Definitely snacking too much! I must keep myself busier. Annoying to have undone previous loss but I only have myself to blame

Firsttimelottie · 20/04/2020 11:13

3lb loss for me which I'm surprised with as I ate too much crap at the weekend - although that will probably be reflected in next week's weigh in!

So I'm going to try and eat well again this week to counteract the junky weekend I've just had!

DP did get my treadmill out yesterday - I'm not sure I'll do any today as I'm on a heavy period and feel quite sluggish so I'll probably just focus on better food choices.

Here's to a new week all!

Changedname78 · 20/04/2020 11:46

Sorry for tmi but is anyone on this thread on the coil? I’ve been on low calories for three weeks now plus walking daily and not lost a thing! Is the coil to blame or am I deluding myself ☹️

wombatsandaplant · 20/04/2020 11:56

Ive lost 1.6kg this week.

SW:172.6kg
CW:168.8kg

I’m happy with my weight loss this week, wish it was more though, but 1.6kg is still really good. 3.5lbs is really good actually. I’m so happy. This is the longest I’ve ever stuck to a healthy lifestyle. I think because I’ve got support this time it makes it easier.

Had a REALLY bad few days. Lost my job and have eaten for England. So have gained just shy of 4 lb s.

Need to get a grip so am back on it today.

catinb0oots · 20/04/2020 12:42

Sorry to here about your job @YorkshireParentalPerson Sad

My week hasn't been great either and Saturday was a disaster food wise.

I've stayed the same this week, but I am due on any day which always adds a few pounds

Pickles89 · 20/04/2020 15:56

So far today:

Breakfast: Mango smoothie - 100

Lunch: Head of lettuce with guacamole - 200
Yoghurt - 100
Biscuit - 100

500 already! It's insane how it mounts up! I've had a decent dog walk. Will do something else in a bit, skipping or something, and Joe Wicks later. Waistline not budging at all! I bent over to rescue a moribund bee earlier and was extremely conscious that half my bum was escaping out of the top of my jeans for the world to witness! It's very depressing.

wombatsandaplant · 20/04/2020 17:06

Today has been a struggle. I had a red velvet muffin about 130pm and then nothing till 4pm, when I had 10 chocolate fingers, 15 ritz crackers, a muffin and three Percy pigs. I then decided to walk the dog, and it wasn’t till half way through the walk that I realised I hadn’t eaten lunch. Oops. No wonder all I wanted to do was eat. I’m autistic so I struggle to know when I’m hungry, it really backfires sometimes. Instead of hunger I go from not hungry to craving all the bad things and being very hungry. I need to remember to eat lunch everyday. I don’t think I’ve done too much damage though, hopefully. At least not like I usually do, I would normally had many packets of crisps and rather a lot of chocolate, so I’m definitely doing better. Tomorrow is a new day.

I think a total of 500 calories for breakfast AND lunch is really low! Definitely not mounted up! Smile

lovinglavidaloca · 20/04/2020 19:45

Oh dear! Had a pizza for dinner BUT only other things I’ve had today were a bowl of homemade soup and a Jaffa cake so hopefully won’t be too much over my calories. Went a walk and did a Joe Wicks HIIT.

LaneBoy · 20/04/2020 20:09

So sorry yorkshire that sucks :(

I’ve done better today with exercise and food. Knackered though as going back to routine, home ed etc has worn me out as well as the workout and walking!

Maria53 · 20/04/2020 21:00

Back to it after my cheat snacks.

Breakfast: x2 weetabix & coffee (no sugar)
Lunch: Small soup portion & small chicken&avocado salad
Dinner: smoked salmon, broccoli, sweet potato fries.

Going to have some berries. I am really craving rich tea biscuits! I never eat them usually but did as a child at my grandparents house. Strange.

catinb0oots · 20/04/2020 22:18

Food today

B - 2x coffee with coffee mate
L - chicken salad with asparagus
D -roasted purple broccoli with salad and a coffee with coffee mate

Copious quantities of Diet Coke and fake (Aldi) diet lilt

Firsttimelottie · 20/04/2020 22:25

Ah I've slipped off the wagon this evening! Can I blame my period Blush

B: bran flakes, pecan nuts and strawberries
L: tuna, cucumber and lettuce with light mayo + a smoothie (half avo, half banana, cup of bluerries, cup of spinach, tbsp nut butter and tbsp ground seeds)
D: chickpea flour "pizza" with tomato puree, red pepper, garlic with tsp olive oil drizzled over.

All under calorie limit...

Then...

Quarter rack of bbq ribs.
2 slices of thick white toast with butter and marmite.
Chocolate cupcake.
Tea and chocolate.

It's all gone now at least! Back on it tomorrow with no evening binge this time!

Pickles89 · 20/04/2020 23:27

Supper: 2 sticks of celery, vegetable chili and rice - 500
Half a glass of tropical juice - 50
2 slices of cake (I know, I have zero willpower!!) - 300

Total for the day: 1350

That's ok. I'd have been happier with 1300, but I have done quite a lot. Pretty long dog walk this am, painted the garden fence at midday, leisurely stroll around fields this pm and Joe Wicks this evening.

foodandwine89 · 21/04/2020 09:14

Can I join? I've been complaining for years that the reason I struggle with weight is my long hours in the office. So now I'm home, I have to do something. I started 4 weeks ago and already lost 4lbs. I have another 10 -12 lbs to go but they're hard to shift.
I do a youtube workout every day, 5-6 times a week + daily 1 hour walk.
I keep my calories at about 1700 a day, hope I don't need to get much lower than that given I work out?

TheBuriedGiant · 21/04/2020 09:21

I had a great day yesterday then it came to the evening and I ate a load of chocolate Blush hopefully I can override it with a good week! Have a good day everyone

LuckyKitty13 · 21/04/2020 09:22

I've lost 5lb this week which makes me now 10stone 13. All I've done is reduce portion size so I'm amazed at the loss!

NothingIsWrong · 21/04/2020 10:26

Still plodding along here. Put a pound back on again - just trying to keep going even if I have a bad day - its much harder now I'm trying to work full time and homeschool two children... I really can't do this, I'm such a crap parent.

twinkledag · 21/04/2020 10:36

Been reading but not posting.

Trying to stick to low carb as much as possible! Chocolate is still my nemesis!

foodandwine89 · 21/04/2020 10:38

@NothingIsWrong 2 kids at home all day and working a full time job, you got a lot on your plate!!! Don't beat yourself up!

NothingIsWrong · 21/04/2020 10:46

I've actually got three, the eldest is more self sufficient. I know I'm doing my best, but sometimes I just feel I should give up.

We swap tomorrow so DH is at home with the kids and I get to go out to visit my sites. We have one that is still going full pelt and I need to get there and see what they have been up to in the last two days.

I've got them playing with Duplo doing maths exercises - one has fractions and the other is doing clockwise/anticlockwise. So all calm for now...
