I’m on day 4 of giving up chocolate and crisps. So far it’s going well. Lockdown is definitely helping, no nipping to the shop to get snacks or sandwiches. I’ve lost 1.3kg this first week. I’m cooking everyday and eating healthy food.

I’m hoping to continue after lockdown too. Must lose weight, my starting weight was 172.6kg. My goal weight is 90kg. Hopefully going to Disney once I’ve lost the weight, that’s my reward.

Anyone Want to join me? What’s your goal and is lock down helping you?

I did okish the rest of yesterday. A packet of twiglets for a snack, red pepper houmous with romaine lettuce for dinner, with some antipasti and feta (and a few more olives than were necessary...) and a pitta bread, then for pudding a banana and a couple of handfuls of dry cereal. At least I resisted The Call of The Cake though, and to be fair I had a fairly active day (for me!) with a long dog walk in the am, a stroll around my fields in the afternoon, gardening in the evening and Joe Wicks before dinner.

Firsttimelottie · 11/04/2020 14:10

I keep logging my meals a day late! P.s MrsMGE your breakfast of salmon, toast and chives etc. sounds AMAZING!!

Yesterday's log Blush:

B: blueberry and seed baked oats
L: leftover bean chilli with baked sweet potato
D: standard portion of cottage pie with half a plate full of peas and broccoli
S: oat milk in beverages. Strawberries. A 40g bowl of bran flakes with oat milk at 10pm because I was hungry! Still within calories.

Tomorrow marks a week since I started. I'm not sure whether to weigh weekly or monthly?

How often is everyone else weighing?

wombatsandaplant · 11/04/2020 14:33

I'm weighing every monday.

I may have had an Easter egg today and I've got one for tomorrow too. They're are small though. If that makes it slightly better.

Firsttimelottie · 11/04/2020 14:48

I have an Easter egg too but the entire thing comes in at 1,200 calories and I could eat that in one sitting!

So I plan to add a "serving" to my morning porridge so I'm indulging a bit, but not enough that I eat the entire thing!

Chocolate is my weakness so tomorrow will be a true test.

I'm not trying to eliminate anything but atm I'm trying to gain some control. It's still early days and I don't trust myself not to binge yet!

myfuckingfreezer · 11/04/2020 15:20

Hi all,

My log:
B - two weetabix with semi skimmed milk and a banana
L - BBQ so I had a burger with no bun, roasted veg, homemade healthy coleslaw (yoghurt not mayo), corn on the cob and some sweet potato
D - Jerk chicken soup with added chicken

I'm weighing weekly PP. Sometimes I do everyday but it just gets me down and I know my body will hold weight on a good week then woosh suddenly!

Pickles89 · 11/04/2020 15:36

Well, that was bloody disastrous! Sad For lunch I had 1/3 tub cottage cheese with a little bit of sweetcorn, a mini red pepper and a spring onion. All fine and healthy, but I was still a bit peckish, so what did I do? Mashed half an avocado to have on another pitta. Only it was the biggest avocado ever known to humankind! So big that it took another 3 stupid pitta breads to help it down! I would have thrown it away but I can't bear food waste, especially something like avocado with the impact they have on the planet. So lunch must have been a good 6000 calories that I DIDN'T EVEN FREAKING WANT!!!! Now I feel miserable, too full, and like I'm undone all my work over the past few weeks (that wasn't even showing results anyway!) Arrggghhh!

EasterBuns · 11/04/2020 16:42

I’m doing well today, but like everyone says tomorrow will be the challenge with all the chocolate that will come out of hiding.
No walk today as it’s just so hot, but I used a decent number of calories tidying and cleaning the house ready for the Easter bunny.

LuckyKitty13 · 11/04/2020 16:52

Oh pickles dont worry, dust yourself off and carry on. At least it was healthy foods!!

Firsttimelottie · 11/04/2020 16:54

Pickles89

There's worse things you could have eaten so don't get yourself down!

And at least you get lots of goodness from the avocado.

What do you have planned for dinner?

rootsonshow · 11/04/2020 17:37

hello everyone, I am still on track but have struggled a bit today. I am losing track so much that I am not even sure what day it is.

Duckduckgosling · 11/04/2020 17:51

Found an Easter egg on my doorstep from the neighbour - argh, trying to resist.

B: yoghurt
L: homemade tomato & pepper soup with 3 x rivita
D: now got a bbq on the go, I've got chicken breast, vegetable scewers, corn on the cob, new pots, salad and fat free cottage cheese 😬

I'm also having 2 x G&T, I allow myself a little drink at the weekend (a cut down for me)

raisydenton · 11/04/2020 19:17

@roots it's Saturday - totally understand as today has been like the last 21 days.

Didn't go into what we oleander but held it together. Blitzed up some tinned peaches to have with Greek yoghurt and it is fabulous.

B all bran
L houmous- toasted sandwich thin veg and a creme egg
T Cheese ham and tomatoes sandwich thin, yoghurt with peaches.

And, the scales are moving at glacial pace but in the right direction.

catinb0oots · 11/04/2020 20:42

Two things have really depressed me today

1 - DS2 took a photo of me having our bbq and I look so so fat and old. Being fat ages my face.

2 - I read an article about Greg Wallace and his weight loss. He now weighs 11 and a half stone. Yep that's right. I weigh 2 and a half stone more than FUCKING GREG WALLACE 😭😭😭

NothingIsWrong · 11/04/2020 23:58

Negatives and positives - we ordered dominos for tea, but I had a small one on the thin base and only ended up 150cal over on my days target at 1400cal. I think my basal rate is about 1650 so I'm still in a deficit albeit not as much as I would like.

NothingIsWrong · 12/04/2020 00:03

Right this is bloody annoying. I did an online calculator - apparently to maintain my weight I would need to eat 2100 cal per day. I'm averaging around 700 a day less than that so why am I not losing weight?!? Just sitting there at the same weight day after day.

catinb0oots · 12/04/2020 06:40

@nothingiswrong I reckon those online calculators massively overestimate your BMR

slipperyeel · 12/04/2020 09:36

I’m avoiding chocolate entirely, if I eat a bit I’ll only want more! All my treat calories go on alcohol, I know that’s massively unhealthy but that’s the only way for me.

HotCrossBungle · 12/04/2020 09:50

Oh dear. Had waaaay too much alcohol last night. Massive hangover. Just eaten an M&S chocolate caramel. I'm going to cut myself some slack today and not worry about it. It's Easter Sunday!

raisydenton · 12/04/2020 11:11

@Nothing I am the same- daily calories on MFP is 1570 and kids with my tdee/bmr calculations but I find I will only lose on about 1250 a day. I also find I lose quicker if I eat 'healthy' calories as opposed to 'unhealthy' calories.

@slipperyeel chocolate definitely has addictive properties. So easy to consume. I find biscuits the same.

raisydenton · 12/04/2020 11:12

Kids?? I mean 'compares with'

Firsttimelottie · 12/04/2020 11:27

Yesterday's log:

B: buckwheat pancakes with blueberries and maple syrup
L: baked sweet potato, 1/2 can of tuna + cucumber
D: roasted chicken, homemade potato wedges + lots of tenderstem broccoli and asparagus
S: oat milk in beverages and 80g red grapes

I REALLY wanted chocolate last night but reminded myself that I'm having a mini choc bunny in my porridge the following morning. I has a chai tea and red grapes instead!

Currently eating my choc bunny and porridge Smile

Happy Easter all!

If you have lots of chocolate don't beat yourself up and don't compare yourself to others.

I'm doing my best to avoid it today because I know I'm not ready to indulge in it with the confidence that I'll get back on the diet tomorrow. It's too soon for me.

Firsttimelottie · 12/04/2020 11:29

Happy Easter!

lockdown assisted weight loss, join me?
supercee · 12/04/2020 13:40

I'm with @HotCrossBungle today. Too much alcohol last night, have more for later along with a massive chocolate egg. Day/s off for me. Back on it tomorrow. Happy Easter all!

NothingIsWrong · 12/04/2020 16:04

So bike ride with the kids and a fitness blender workout this morning has given me some leeway on calories.

I had a raisin bagel for breakfast, a small piece of homemade pizza for lunch. Not sure what is for tea, but I made rhubarb and quince crumble from the garden so that will definitely be featuring! Oh and I might have had some mini eggs....

Still on target for a deficit today again (on a target of 1250)

Where's my whoosh?!?

rootsonshow · 12/04/2020 17:47

Its all gone wrong today, I was ok until 5 o;clock and then thought bugger it. I am so annoyed with myself but I will start again stronger tomorrow,
