Hi all, does anybody want to buddy up through weight loss journey? I'm feeling really positive. I have 6 stone to loose in order to qualify for any fertility treatment.

I'm on sole source, step one. Sticking to shakes this week. Might have some "meals" next week. Might treat myself to a bar next month.

I feel like the bars could be a slippery slope
for me... I prefer cutting all solids out.

Yes I know, not the healthiest diet long term.. I have no intention of gaining it all back. It's not for everybody, please be nice :) I need a kick start.

Wow thats amazing! My consultant is great, she's absolutely lovely and there whenever I need her. She said roughly a stone a month, i have 3 I would like to loose possibly abit more was going to see how I felt after the 3 coming off. Although not expecting to loose a stone a month. Drinking lots of water defiantly helps. Its the evenings I struggle with. I'm having 4 products a day. So usually a shake at lunchtime as I prefer to hold of the morning as busy with the children. A bar around 3 o clock, my dinner sachet around 5/6 then a porridge or soup or bar in the evening. I did just 3 products on the first day and found it very difficult. Oh this heat is horrendous not having ice cream or a lolly is hard when the kids are sat there scoffing one haha. But will deffo try the ice cubes. Hadn't thought of that. 😊

Dontstepinthecowpat · 26/06/2020 23:42

Hello can I join, I started on Tuesday and seem to be okay so far. Three products a day and 4 litres of water. I feel like I am never out the toilet! The kids and DH had a dominos tonight and it didn’t even bother me as I just need to get this done. I’m sure there will be plenty bad days too. I’m 16’1 and hope to lose 3 stone but my first target is 14stone 10 to get down to weight after DC4 was born 3 years ago. I lost weight during pregnancy but piled it on after he was born. My BMI is 35 so really need to do something I’ve never been this heavy before.

Well done on some fantastic results!

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 13:02

Can I join please
On day 2 and loving all the support tips and advice
I've read the whole post back to January Smile

iSushi · 27/06/2020 22:55

Welcome @Dontstepinthecowpat and @Jannyapple66! Congrats on starting and taking the first step!

@DietQueen2020 I thought the same thing!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Caitlyn10 · 28/06/2020 08:27

Hi what does everyone think about the meals? I'm not keen on the Thai green curry or spag bol 🙈 the mac n cheese and chicken curry was lovely though, and the caramel bites 😍
1st weigh in for me tomorrow cant wait 🤞
How's everyone doing this weekend x

DietQueen2020 · 28/06/2020 10:28

Hey everyone, hope everyone is getting on ok and the newcomers to the group are coping with the lack of calories ok. First few days are a pain but it gets better Smile
@Caitlyn10 OMG spag Bol and Thai green curry are my absolute faves!!! Funny how different our taste buds are.
Xxx

DietQueen2020 · 28/06/2020 10:30

Oooooh also forgot to say. My consultant was a darling and threw some fava beans in to my order for free when I'm at work and need the energy. They are step 3 and above but she said I can have them on step 1 for when I'm running round the hospital like a headless chicken 😂 they are a game changer!!! Taste just like flavoured mini cheddars. Xxx

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 10:54

Love the spag bol and the spicy cous cous
Cottage pie was vile but might be better with more water ?
Same with Cappuccino shakes , they a bit strong so I'm adding extra water there too
Which I presume is ok ?

Caitlyn10 · 28/06/2020 11:45

Really, it is strange! I like the cottage pie too haha. All the bars are lovely and shakes.. havent tried the cappachino one yet though.
The berry porridge I save for the evening as I'm always so hungry in the evenings.
Am i right in thinking you measure monthly? X

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 12:06

@Caitlyn10 Hi
I didn't measure myself just weighed but regret that now
It's very early days for me but I can tell in my face what's happening with my weight almost immediately
I seem to age 5-10 years with 5-10 lbs HmmConfused
Do you add extra water to the cottage pie ?
Oh and I'm worried about the bars that I may just want to eat them like a cereal bar ? Does that make sense to anyone ? Brew

Dontstepinthecowpat · 28/06/2020 12:48

Day 6 here and I’m really wnsjiying it. So much more energy now that the carb hangover has gone, I was on the beach at 7 am today with the kids. I only bought one chocolate mini bites for a Saturday night treat and it was amazing! I am having a smoothie around 12, soup around 5 and a chocolate mint shake (hot) at 8.30.

I can’t believe the amount of time’s that I’ve realised I would just pick away without thinking about it and I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have a wine on a Saturday night. I’m drinking about 4 litres of water a day.

Hope everyone else is doing good, I’m getting weighed on Tuesday morning.

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 14:28

Can I ask if anyone can explain the citric acid issue to me ?
I thought I was doing well using sugar free squash to get all the water down but have just read on another thread that it's not advised due to citric acid
I'm on my first week so don't want to scupper myself
Thank you !

Caitlyn10 · 28/06/2020 15:22

Not sure about the citric acid 🤔

Wow 7am you must have some energy!
I had an energy boost on day 5, took kids for a long walk yesterday and been sorting stuff in the garden and cleaned the car today! Makes the time go quicker.
Iv been drinking 4l a day, ibusually have a shake about 12pm a bar about 3ish, meal sachet 5ish and either a porridge or bites or something in the evning around 8/9
Feel so much less bloated, cant wait for 1st weigh in tomorrow! Thats amazing you can see it in your face already! Cant wait to see something change! Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday x

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 15:41

Good luck for weigh in @Caitlyn10
I feel the same , can't wait for Friday and if I can manage to lose 7.5 I'll be down in the 11 somethings ... which I would love to be

Caitlyn10 · 28/06/2020 16:35

Oh its such a great feeling when you move down a stone number isn't it. Im at the end of the number so have a way to go before I move down a number 🙈 fingers crossed for you x

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 16:57

Let us know how you get on tomorrow @Caitlyn10
I think my 7.5 is a tad optimistic but we shall see

Caitlyn10 · 29/06/2020 08:38

So me first weigh this morning and I have lost 6lb! So happy! Ready to smash another week 💪 have a good week everyone x

iSushi · 29/06/2020 10:29

@Caitlyn10 Congrats! 6lbs is a great start!

Glad to see so many new people joining the thread. We can do it!

I'm not sure about other people, but I have noticed a lot more about my food/comfort eating 'triggers'. In particular, how much work has impacted my ability to lose weight in the past (goes without saying), which has been mitigated by being able to work from home (commute to work, snacks around the office, lack of sleep, etc.).

But the biggest trigger for me that continues has been Monday morning work anxiety. It usually fades after the first 2 hours, but before logging on, etc. I keep having thoughts of what needs to be done throughout the week, if anything has happened over the weekend, if I am going to get a call/email in the morning from a manager, etc. Normally, this would end up with me 'treating myself' in the morning to a nicer breakfast and lunch than usual, etc. I have been resisting that temptation by doing morning breathing exercises, listening to calming music, etc. that helps a little.

But I do feel more down and drained after initial anxiety has subsided.

Has anyone else felt anything similar / advice or their own food triggers they have been noticing since starting?

Cleo2017 · 29/06/2020 10:47

Hi can I join the thread please - ole rage profile 😱😱 1 week in - apparently I have to have 4 shakes a day because of my diabetes - 5lb Dow on first weigh in - loved reading everyone’s comments since I started it would be great to join in

Cleo2017 · 29/06/2020 10:48

Older age profile that should have said! Clearly it’s time for a shake

Caitlyn10 · 29/06/2020 11:13

Hi @cleo2017 amazing start!

@iSushi I think for me not having to think about what I'm going to do for lunch or dinner has helped massively. Just choosing a sachet helps, some days i used to wake up and the first thing would be what am I doing for dinner then be thinking about it all day and ending up getting a take away or something quick and something no good for me. Ots fmdefiatly made me realise how much I was snacking for no reason. When your in a routine of eating badly its very hard to get out, but your doing great! And when you notice what is triggering it thats another step forward. X

Jannyapple66 · 29/06/2020 11:21

Well done @Caitlyn10 that's a fantastic start
Keep at it ... how long do you think you can stay on this plan for ?

Caitlyn10 · 29/06/2020 12:39

Thankyou, when is your weigh day?
My plan was to stay on it for a couple months and see how i feel . But definitely want to be weaned of before Christmas. Maybe 4/5 months. X

Jannyapple66 · 29/06/2020 12:43

Friday will be my first weigh in
Fingers crossed for a nice loss , I know first week is a bit misleading but it makes me feel better so that's all that matters

JamesZebra · 30/06/2020 12:05

sorry I haven't been on in a while. Life is so busy at the mo.

I lost 6lb in my first week but am due to weigh in tomorrow and it looks like i haven't lost anything which is disappointing. I have posted on the FB group and everyone is recommending that I drink more so that is my plan moving forwards.

I feel really weak today- has anyone else experienced this?
