Hi all, does anybody want to buddy up through weight loss journey? I'm feeling really positive. I have 6 stone to loose in order to qualify for any fertility treatment.

I'm on sole source, step one. Sticking to shakes this week. Might have some "meals" next week. Might treat myself to a bar next month.

I feel like the bars could be a slippery slope
for me... I prefer cutting all solids out.

Yes I know, not the healthiest diet long term.. I have no intention of gaining it all back. It's not for everybody, please be nice :) I need a kick start.

Day one was ok.......dinner was "interesting" but I have awful heartburn. Need to drink more tomorrow, I only managed a litre today. I'm going to glug some water and go to bed.
I dont feel particularly hungry but that might change tomorrow.

DietQueen2020 · 19/06/2020 07:27

Oh gosh yeah you need to drink much more than that. Even the 2.25L recommended Isn't enough I'd say. I drink between 3-4l a day on rest days and 5l when I'm doing intense exercise.
They have a catch slogan the more you drink the more you shrink 😂 and it is true xxx

JamesZebra · 19/06/2020 15:45

I really struggle with drinking enough so I think its going to have to be a gradual thing.
Just had the pesto past which was delicious! I could have eaten about 5 of them though!
I've done 1ltr so far today so I am confident I can do another 1.5 before bed

Did my before pics and measurements today Shock they were horrendous but I am looking forward to weigh in day to see how much I lose.

DietQueen2020 · 20/06/2020 07:47

Good plan @JamesZebra with the water and glad you have found a meal you love. Just think this is the last time you are ever going to see those numbers on the measuring tape and scale. Only onwards and downwards from here on out ❤️

So it's 1 month weigh in today ... (drum roll) ... lost 3lb this week so that's 16lb total in a month. I am blown away. I love this diet so so so much. And because I've got that stone now I won't feel bad about having a treat tomorrow on my birthday.

Have a fabulous weekend ladies xxx

JamesZebra · 20/06/2020 15:00

DietQueen thats really good! Well done. have you lost much in the way of inches?

Had a bit of a set back in that I have terrible constipation which is really painful. I have spent most of today in bed as it has made me quite poorly but I am just having a soup and trying to catch up on my water intake. DP has gone to get me my favourite squash to help- I know strictly speaking you aren't supposed to have it but I have a health condition which I am supposed to avoid constipation so I need to get a lot of fluid down me and shift the blockage (Soz tmi)

DietQueen2020 · 20/06/2020 16:30

@JamesZebra bless you lovely. Maybe try some laxatives if it gets really bad.
Lost 18 inches total round bust waist and hips xxx

iSushi · 20/06/2020 16:30

@JamesZebra Hope you are feeling better today. It is worth mentioning it to your consultant as it might be better to start at a higher step or I think they have products that can help with constipation. But the most important thing is to drink lots of water. 3 litres at least.

@DietQueen2020 That is great! Congrats! Hope you have a fantastic birthday! You deserve it after how disciplined you have been.

I had a weird experience yesterday on my 3rd week weigh in. I had a stressful week at work (long hours with 12-15 hour days to meet deadlines, etc) and had some controlled slip ups (i.e. meals that were still around the 200 mark). Normally, I would treat myself to a nice / high calorie meal when work is this stressful, but managed to resist.

So by the time I weighed myself I was already feeling down and thought that I lost no weight (and didn't even bother to write it down as I needed to carry on working). When I talked to the consultant I was down, but determined to carry on and didn't understand why I hadn't lost anything.

While talking to the consultant something clicked - I asked what my original weight was and I realised that I had actually lost 2lbs!

I've lost a stone in total since starting by week 3! I felt so much better after that!

DietQueen2020 · 20/06/2020 16:35

@isushi you go girl!!! Well done. Bet your chuffed to bits. Sorry to hear you had a stressful week though.
Thank you so much I'm looking forward to my banoffee pie instead of cake tomorrow xxx

Vickywasntavailable · 22/06/2020 17:08

@DietQueen2020 16lbs and 18 inches in 1 month. Wow that is amazing! Shows that the results are amazing if you stick with it.

@JamesZebra if you haven't already, get the Cambridge fibre. I put 1 teaspoon in my drink/shake when I need to and it works! (I'll spare you any further detail!)

@iSushi well done! Youve also had an amazing weight loss.

I'm getting fed up with packet food already but reading your losses have helped :)

JamesZebra · 22/06/2020 20:00

I am slowly getting better, still a lot of wind, tummy gurling, burping and farting. But I did manage to go to the loo this morning so thats a plus. I am adding fibre to my meals and taking a laxative at night before bed. I have stuck to it so far which I am really proud of even though DP seems to have gone in the total opposite direction and is eating burger king and kfc for every meal! I had the spag bol tonight, it was surprisingly tasty!

I really want to lose weight. I am fed up of people judging me on my appearance! I want to feel good about myself and buy clothes that make me feel good instead of tenty stuff that I can hide away under. At the moment I have a fairly good level of will power so I will push on! Scared of my first weigh in........I think I might have set my sights too high but when you hear of other people loosing crazy amounts you hope you can follow suit! I guess only time will tell.

It's really encouraging to hear how well everyone else is doing!

DietQueen2020 · 22/06/2020 21:08

@Vickywasntavailable thanks hunnie the plan really does work. I enjoyed my birthday yesterday and getting back on it today was so easy I'm shocked myself. I'll even go as far to say I'm enjoying it. I felt so blimming uncomfortable yesterday, I just know I don't want to feel like that again for a long while.

@JamesZebra the spag Bol is amaze isn't it. When I'm at work everyone says it smells amazing.
Whatever you lose this first weigh in, just remember your 1 step closer to that end goal. And as the weeks pass you'll only be getting closer and closer. You'll be wearing the clothes you desire in no time xxx

Groovychick69 · 23/06/2020 03:50

Can I join the party?! Day 1 today, well yesterday. Currently on a night shift, can’t wait for bed! I had 2 shakes yesterday and spag Bol for tea. Starving when I woke up So had to have a shake at 10am, then 3pm - I then slept till 6pm in preparation for my night shift. Had my spag bol at 23.30 - couldn’t wait a minute longer. Really enjoyed it, ringing my consultant tomorrow - using products given to me by a friend who fell off the wagon. How much do you find you get charged per product?
I only want to kick start my “lockdown” weight gain. Would like to lose 2 stones ASAP! Any advise would be great. The veg water flavouring sounds amazing that’s the first thing on my shopping list.

JamesZebra · 23/06/2020 18:04

How is everyone getting on today? I missed breakfast which was really naughty! I slept in and then had a zoom call straight away for work. I also don't really like any of the breakfast products. I think I might try a shake tomorrow. Not a massive fan of shakes but haven't tried them yet so I should give them a go really.

A quick question. How much support do you get from your coach? Mines gone a bit quiet on me and I am a bit worried. I am doing fine at the mo but I wonder what will happen if I am struggling and she doesn't respond. Also I thought part of the cost of the plan was having that 1:1 support. I don't know if I am expecting too much. But it is quite expensive and I really want this to work for me.

Had the thai noodles tonight......they were ok. What is your fave thing to eat on this?

Groovychick69 · 23/06/2020 21:01

I’ve got soup and cous cous tonight, I’m on another night shift. I’ll let you know tomorrow

iSushi · 23/06/2020 23:31

@Groovychick69 More the merrier! Congrats on starting! Just be aware that it will take at least 2 months to lose 2 stones (most likely longer) so while 1:1 diet is quicker than most... It will still take time.

In terms of costs, I pay £65 for 28 meals a week or it's £50 for 21 meals a week (approx. £2.30 per meal). It would be interesting to hear if anyone is paying more/less.

There are also a few posts a couple of pages back that gives a lot of advice.

@JamesZebra I wouldn't worry about 'missing' breakfast. It is about what works for you. If you are on Step 1a then having a late breakfast is how some people are able to cope with 3 meals a day.

My favourite 'meals' are Capaccino shake with coffee added, banana shake with some frozen berries added and either Pesto Pasta or Macaroni & Cheese but with plain salad and boiled spinach, mushrooms and peppers added to make it more filling. While you are not suppose to add things, I would not be able to cope otherwise. Also as I think I do not enter ketosis on being on Step 1b - I don't loose much by adding low cal and low carb to my meals. I also supplement these by making sure I go for a 45-60 min walk a day.

It works for me so I am happy as long as I continue to loose weight.

Hopefully, you like the shakes, but if not you can still try the range of meals, soups and bars. The reality is that all of the food will be just 'ok'. It is more about what products you don't mind having rather than actually really liking any of them.

In terms of support from your Consultant. I speak to mine every Fri for 30-45 mins as part of the weekly weigh in. We also chat a little on Thurs when my products are dropped off. We have also exchanged texts a couple of times when ordering products, etc. and a couple of texts when I first started offering support. When I talked about being my Consultant has told me that I can text/ring if I ever fancy a chat / vent. I haven't, but it is nice that the offer is there.

When you saying your Consultant has gone quiet on you - over what time period and how often have you been contacting them?

In terms of the 'extra cost' - my expectation is that this is covered by the weekly weigh in / chat. Anything above that is a bonus.

@DietQueen2020 Glad to hear you had a great birthday! And that you are back on track. I have a planned cheat meal on Saturdays and so far have had no issues the following day. If anything I tend to feel a little tired, but that's it.

@Vickywasntavailable Thanks! In particular for last week. Your post really helped when I felt a bit down so glad to hear that hearing about my weight loss and @DietQueen2020 helps. How are you holding up?

Vickywasntavailable · 23/06/2020 23:42

Hi @Groovychick69! Welcome :)
The veg water flavour is a godsend. In fact, if you like sweet drinks, buy a fruity water flavour too. I get bored of water and the odd glass here or there helps me get more water in.

Ive got a packet of couscous. Let us know what you think of it :)

@JamesZebra i tried the pesto pasta because you said it was nice and I liked it too! It definitely felt like a real meal. I had the cheese one... not so nice. I tolerated it. Trying spagbol tomorrow :)

Ive spoken to my consultant 4 times in 2 weeks (when she took me on, when I collected my products both times and once when I was having a wobble). Shes friendly and approchable and I know she will respond if I need something.
I did Cambridge years ago and my consultant then was lovely, but didnt suit me. She sent lots of encouraging text messages, which I hated as they were inpersonal and clearly to a group and she was too strict for me. I got told off for things which for some would encourage them (she had all the awards Cambridge give so she was clearly good at her job), but i found it demotivating and i gave up after 1 stone.

Basically all that was to say, your consultant may not be the right fit for you.

Vickywasntavailable · 23/06/2020 23:46

Im much happier with my consultant this time around.

Groovychick69 · 24/06/2020 01:44

Cous cous was ok.
Certainly tasted better than it looked. I’ve left my lockdown diet a bit late to start but hoping for some good results before my trip to cornwall end of July.

DietQueen2020 · 25/06/2020 19:50

Hey guys and welcome newbies. Sorry I've been a bit quiet work has been insane!!! My role has changed and I'm now an emergency assessment nurse ... as you can imagine with what's going on I've been dumped in at the deep end to say the least 😂
My consultant messages me mid week to see how I'm getting and that's about it but she told me if I need more support then just let her know and she will message me more.
My fav thing to eat on the plan is deffo the apple and cinnamon porridge, spag Bol, Thai green noodles, spicy couscous And peanut crisp bar. Yum yum yum.
Now I'm on the three meals a day plan I pay £45 a week but I get 10% nhs discount. Xxx
Been back on track since my birthday on Sunday and have stuck to plan just fine. Xxx

Dogmom · 25/06/2020 20:20

Hi everyone. Enjoying reading through your posts for tips. I'm on day 2 of CWP and on step 3. I have around 3 stone to lose and that's just to get in a 'healthy' BMI Confused
Can't wait to see the scales going down. I feel hungry tonight, does anyone have any tricks or low carb snacks when they're hungry on CWP??

DietQueen2020 · 25/06/2020 20:45

Hey @Dogmom. Completely understand, I've got two and half stone to go before I'm in a healthy weight and lost just over a stone so far.
My advice is don't snack. It's hell at first but I promise just stick to the plan 100% and the hunger will go soon. It was about day 5 for me. Xxx

Hi hope it's OK to join, day 5 here! Found day 2 and 3 massive struggle. But feeling better yesterday and today. Hopefully hard work will pay off. My wedding has been postponed to next year so wanting to feel much better for it after lockdown weight gain. And now that I have time to do it. Have read through and given me massive inspiration. X

iSushi · 26/06/2020 09:09

@caitlyn10 Welcome! Congrats on starting! This thread has been a great help to me to feel a bit less isolated and more motivated while doing the 1 to 1 Diet (especially on some of my low points).

I have have now been doing the diet for one month. Weighed myself today and lost another 2lbs this week, which means...

I have lost 16lbs in one month! Woo!

I have not had a chance to check my measurements yet, but clothes do feel a lot less tight and others a bit too loose now, which is great.

Although it is a bit annoying that it feels like my waist is stubbornly holding on to the fat this week (I wear the same clothes for weigh in and it still feels slightly tight only at my waist), but I can tell I have lost it in other areas.

So all good! I was thinking just doing this for a month as I thought it would be too difficult to do it longer, but it has been a lot easier then I thought it would be. I think having a 'managed' cheat meal on Saturday (i.e. ensuing calories for the day stays 800-1000 cals through exercise and making the cheat meal as healthy as possible) and adding some frozen berries to the shakes and boiled spinach/mushrooms/peppers with meals helps me to stay on track.

How is everyone coping with the heat? Glad I resisted ice cream yesterday! I have been drinking loads more water and have just been having the shakes with lots of ice (till it almost feels like a thick creamy milkshake). That has been a god send - although it does mean I have been missing having a meal/bar a day for some variety (4 shakes a day starts feeling a bit dull to me).

@DietQueen2020 That does sound stressful but glad your Consultant is offering support and that you are back on track after your birthday!

DietQueen2020 · 26/06/2020 09:17

@isushi snap!!! Amazing for losing 16lbs in a month!!! Well done hunnie.

It's my weigh in day today as I'm working this weekend so a day early and have lost 1lb ... which if you say how much I are and drank on my birthday I'm shocked I haven't gained!!! Super happy. So in 5 weeks I've lost 17lb. I have lost no inches this week but tbh it's been to bloody hot I'm not surprised if we're all holding on to a bit of water weight this week.

Welcome @Caitlyn10 lovely for you to join us. A year gives you plenty of time to smash your goals. The support on here is lovely and whenever I feel down or that I want to stop I read previous messages and it really inspires me to keep plodding on xxx
