Evening all, well done for the losses so far.

So today, for me:

L - half a tin of leek and potato soup. Slice of seeded bread. Kefir yoghurt and blueberries.

D - chicken burger in a wholewheat bun, with a pile of salad.

So not very 'clean' and not enough veg 👎🏻. On the positive side though, I did walk 7.5 miles

Oksunny · 06/01/2020 21:35

@apatchytomcat that’s a great day! Well done 👏🏼

Weighed in today - am 83.3kg which is same weight as Saturday but down from my starting weight of 84.4kg

Am getting used to eating less. Have cut out sugar and a lot of carbs. Drinking more water and moving more. Doesn't feel difficult!

Oksunny · 06/01/2020 21:36

I walked 2 miles 🤦🏼‍♀️

I fasted through breakfast
Naked noodle (posh pot noodle) and a satsuma for lunch
Chicken with lemon and olives, salad and a slice of baguette for dinner plus a handful of walnuts and a square of dark chocolate

Going to try a 24hr fast now through to tomorrow's evening meal.

Oksunny · 06/01/2020 22:15

Good luck @MurielTheCamel. Today sounded pretty good too 👍🏼

Oh can I join please?

Was 11.13 on 1st of Jan and 11.08 this morning. Would ideally like to get to under 9 stone. I know when I’m there I still won’t be happy though. I’m 5 foot 7.

Am doing calorie tracking and really enjoying it. Eating home made soup for lunch and a smaller portion of dinner with a treat at night.

@Usernamesarenotmyforte I’m also getting married in October so would like to be at my goal by then. I cannot fall off this wagon because really, 10 months isn’t long enough to keep stopping and starting!

Good luck all!

Hey all,

Day 1 of Cambridge today, I'm not going to post my weight, just the (hopefully) losses each week as I have other threads on the go that are identifying.

It's not been too bad, and everything I've eaten has been very filling so hopefully I can make this work!

SunshineAvenue · 07/01/2020 07:36

Delicious menu MurielTheCamel! I'm aiming for a 16 hour fast today so not as hardcore as you but will be with you in spirit.

theweightlossone · 07/01/2020 07:44

Grrrrr I’m back up 3lbs this morning but still an overall loss of 2lbs since NYD so cant really complain.

MurielTheCamel · 07/01/2020 08:06

Good luck sunshine!
10 hrs to go and counting...
Have a horrible cold so working from home today, which helps as I can avoid all the leftover Christmas chocolate that everyone has brought in to the office.

WhatALearningCurve · 07/01/2020 08:38

So I'm having a bit of an issue. (An issue that will sound like a humble brag but I promise it isn't).

I first started trying to lose weight this year in June - lost about a stone and a half and was around 12 stone by mid September. But then I lost all motivation (weight loss was for friends wedding) and put a stone back on. Which then brings me to now and trying to lose it again.

On NYE I was just over 13 stone - as in by like half a pound/a pound, NYD I was very hungover so barely ate and then 2nd of January I was ill so again didn't really eat. So on the 3rd I thought I may as well capitalise on this and stick to 1200 calories a day and try to finally get where I wanna be.

It's going well and I'm not hungry and feeling good from it plus I'm seeing losses every day. BUT. This morning I've weighed myself and I'm 12st 5 and a bit.

That's 9lb in week. Is that right?! I know water weight goes first and first week of a diet is usually a bigger loss than the rest but this is a lot more than expected.

I feel like I'm gonna have to buy a bag of sugar to check my scales (then find out they're faulty and I'm a stone heavier than I thought 😂)

I thought maybe it's because it's not that long since I was this weight before? Is that a thing?!

Usernamesarenotmyforte · 07/01/2020 08:41

I caved and ate green and blacks yesterday that’s left from Christmas so I’ve now hidden the rest of it. Out of sight out of mind. It can come back out when I regain self control. Food wise I was good other than that! Banana for breakfast, small hummus and veggie wrap for lunch with an apple and a vegan peanut soup for early dinner. Stopped eating around 3 and fasted until 8 this morning. Also managed to get out for a dog walk and then a run in the evening to get my step count back up. As of this morning down to 13.2 from 13.10 last Monday.

Usernamesarenotmyforte · 07/01/2020 08:51

@WhatALearningCurve I think you’re probably right. I think for me the lbs are shifting that I’ve only had short term. Not looking forward to when I hit the well entrenched weight!

Klouise777 · 07/01/2020 08:57

Also 3 stone exactly to lose. I'm. 5ft 7. Years ago was 16 1/2 stone and lost over 6 on weight watchers. Has lo and gained around 4. Rejoined ww last year but couldn't get back into it. Found it tricky to track when cooking for dh and lo as previously lived alone doing ww. Now using mfp and exercise to track

WhatALearningCurve · 07/01/2020 08:59

@usernamesarenotmyforte that makes me feel better in that a) my scales may not be broken and b) I probably shouldn't be rushing to the doctors to get checked out haha.

I don't think I've ever managed to get below 11 stone 11 and that was a few years ago. I've always hovered around 12.5 - 13stone. Hopefully if this continues I'll stay motivated for longer and finally see what being in the definite 11's looks like!

Stickbyyou2014 · 07/01/2020 09:03

I found a great diet from Facebook and works. It's called TerriAnns123 diet. With a one off payment and a support page that is open all year long.
The people in there are all the same, just want to lose weight and food ideas are always on there in a file.
Once you join you won't look back Smile

Weffiepops · 07/01/2020 09:18

Yes I'm nearly 14stone, 5'7" and put weight on after my brother died and I struggled to get over it

Trewser · 07/01/2020 10:06

WhatALearningCurve I have been hovering around the 12.13/13.1 weight since the summer. I was 13.4 and a half on Jan 2nd and have lost that rogue 4lb in 5 days. I'm sure its easier to lose that extra bit. 9lbs is amazing!

MFP says if i carry on like this I'll be 12.5 in five weeks which will be almost a stone since Jan 2nd Shock

WhatALearningCurve · 07/01/2020 10:33

@Trewser the MFP predictor thing is incredible. I spent years trying to diet and failing so soon mainly because that number always seemed unachievable so I thought "what's the point of carrying on because that's clearly a joke" but from losing weight in the past it's scarily accurate.

I've made a note of it in my calendar this week so I can show myself it's worth carrying on when I hit it, because we all know how quickly 5 weeks will go!

Trewser · 07/01/2020 10:49

That's a brilliant idea. Will do that tonight.

nibdedibble · 07/01/2020 11:08

I'll do that too. Just logged my breakfast and it's been very healthy. It's set to 1200 calories per day which I find challenging but manageable.

I still haven't weighed myself, too scared to. Clothes feel ok, not too tight, that's a good sign. I cannot wait to be back in some of the clothes I've had to stop wearing. It's really sad to think of how much I've ballooned over the past two years. It's not 'me'.

Trewser · 07/01/2020 12:03

Just a tip...i bought a bag of chopped prepared veg in sainsbury's (carrots, leek, squash), simmered it in Marigold stock for 40 mins. Makes a really healthy soup, 4 big portions at about 80cals a portion. I have a bowl before my lunch or at 4 (my danger zone) and it is very filling.

Have to drive dd to football training tonight, so out of the house for 5 hours! I have to sit in my car for 2 hours. I usually eat snacks and read, then eat when I get home at 9.30. Tonight I am taking a homemade turkey sandwich, some soup in a flask and a banana. That will be my snacks AND dinner!

Usernamesarenotmyforte · 07/01/2020 14:14

I like the soup recipe @Trewser I am going to try that out once we are through this weeks planned meals. I’m also going to try @WhatALearningCurve suggestion with the calendar once I get this evenings prediction.

MurielTheCamel · 07/01/2020 14:56

How was your 16 hrs @SunshineAvenue
I am getting very hungry but trying to last until 4pm at least which would be 22hrs. Poached eggs on toast with some ham coming up then 🤤
