@Ihavenoidewhatsgoingon I drink a lot of water. It's the one thing I'm good at doing in terms of self care. I can easily drink 5 or 6 litres in a day. If I'm hungry I tend to have a pint or 2 of water. If I'm still hungry after that then I know it's genuine hunger and I'll have a snack of something light

SunshineAvenue · 14/01/2020 07:49

Water and tea (bit of skimmed milk). Sometimes go out for a walk. Have a bath, do some housework, scroll Instagram.

I was hungry all day yesterday. I've had the odd pang here and there but yesterday was the first day I couldn't seem to get rid of it. I weighed myself a day early this morning as needed the encouragement after yesterday. 2lbs off which is good enough and means that I am below the 200lb mark 🎉

SW 01/01: 14st 13
CW 14/01: 14st 2
1.5 inches from waist.

I honestly haven’t got to the stage I’m starving yet.

I have a huge bowl of soup at work plus one or two snacks throughout the day, then dinner at night and a treat around 9pm. So I’m eating quite regularly so maybe that’s why.

Trewser · 14/01/2020 08:22

Didn't eat until 3 yesterday, just coffee and water. Then had about 600 cals. Was a bit worried I'd be too low in cals so had a poece of toast and a hot chocolate at about 7.

Tempted to do the same today but promised myself I wouldn't go crazy so will be aiming for 1200/1300 cals today.

Aprilcherry04 · 14/01/2020 08:36

Sw 13st 5lb
13/1/20 13st 4lb
Not off to a great start but wasnt sticking to plan as I had a birthday party and a meal out. Hopefully will be more on track this week. Not disheartened as its early days yet.

Usernamesarenotmyforte · 14/01/2020 08:51

I’m not limiting calories too much. MFP is set to 1250 and I’m hitting around 1100 each day. With steps and exercise on top of that I’m normally ending each day on a deficit of about 600-700. Im still breastfeeding though so I don’t want to limit my intake.

nakedavengeragain · 14/01/2020 09:33

@ihavenoidea I have a stash of sugar free jelly in the fridge. About 30 cals no carbs.
Celery and a little Philadelphia pot.
Sugar free boiled sweeties keep my gob occupied for 10 minutes or so!

Trewser · 14/01/2020 09:51

I know if I am eating three meals a day, even if they are small, I can't be starving. I am really trying not to snack so I usually have a cup of tea or a huge drink of water and go and do something away from the kitchen.

Sjanish33 · 14/01/2020 10:33

@Ihavenoidewhatsgoingon

I was lower in cals on a VLCD (between 600-800) and I got starving in the afternoon - though I lose over a stone that way.

But I have upped the cals to 1200 and now it feels like a feast. I also fill up on green veg at dinner (low carbs) and drink about 2lts or water and the same in tea

I will have a boullion or bovril to stave off any extra hunger pangs. I'm also allowing myself a few evening treats on Friday and Saturday (nuts or cheese)

12 days in now and I can say I've gotten over the starving hump.

Jeds55 · 14/01/2020 11:03

Starting weight 11 st 7.8
Weight yesterday 11 st 3.8
Really happy with that as did have a meal out Sat and quite a few drinks (weekend splurge strikes again) . Avoided temptation to have cheat day Sun too but do think a lot of the loss will be water. Normally after a good start to diet week 2 I lose nothing so will see...
Good losses elsewhere. Almost mid Jan, time goes so quickly. Have a good day all

nibdedibble · 14/01/2020 11:30

I've really been trying to limit my calorie intake, but over the weekend did very little in the way of exercise (bloody pre-menstrual lethargy) and consequently have not bloody lost any more of the vast number of pounds I need to. Which just goes to show, for me personally I need movement. It's not rocket science, so why am I so lumpen about it?!! I feel so stupid.

Ihavenoidewhatsgoingon · 14/01/2020 12:03

Thanks everyone

I am hoping it’s just me getting used to eating less and will pass in a week or so

Need to lose some weight to get motivated to carry on

theweightlossone · 14/01/2020 17:40

At 700 calories after my dinner which I’ve not had yet.

Had a sneaky chocolate out a tub I got for Christmas.

Weigh day for me tomorrow! Praying for 2lbs.

ListenLinda · 14/01/2020 18:37

Had a good day today. All on plan, had two ginger nut biscuits with a coffee at work but still well under todays calories.
My jacket potatoe is in the oven and I am so looking forward to it, big side salad too! Hope everyone is feeling good today.

nakedavengeragain · 14/01/2020 18:49

Now two weeks in. All was going swimmingly on Monday (I'm a daily weigher for motivation)
SW: 13st 3
CW: 12st 7
Overall loss:9lbs

Over the past two days (Wednesday here I'm in NZ) the scale has added 3 lbs so I'm now 12.10

I know 6lbs in two weeks is a great result but I can't help feeling downheartened especially as I've stuck religiously to the diet (under1000cals) and had no alcohol.

Weirdly though, the same scale that says I've gained 3lbs tell me I've suddenly dropped 2% of my body fat. I know fat measures aren't accurate but what's happening?

Is it this mythical thing whereby your fat cells suddenly flush out fat but temporarily replace with water? Would account for the increase in weight I suppose.

Chocolatemice · 14/01/2020 20:46

I hope its okay to jump in a bit late. 5ft 1.5. Somehow I’ve got myself down from 13.5 stone to 12, but I’ve got Mount Everest to climb and I have a tendency to opt for a gentle stroll to eating whatever I want.

DivisionBelles · 14/01/2020 21:56

First week weigh in. Started at 13.12, weighed in today on my fancy new (hopefully more accurate) scales at 13.7, so that's a 5lb loss. Happy with that. Getting back onto the swing of it, but don't feel any thinner though. Only another 3 stone to go

Chocolatemice · 14/01/2020 23:48

My daughter told me my tummy was lovely which cheered me up.

Healthy tea of jacket spuds. Onwards and upwards!

theweightlossone · 15/01/2020 07:30

Grrrr 2lb on this morning which is exactly what I suspected might happen after such a big loss last week.

Oh well, overall loss since NYD is still 5lb so that’s ok. Will stick with it!

Good luck to anyone else weighing today.

Trewser · 15/01/2020 07:32

Jan 2: 13.4.5
Jan 15: 12.13.5

Slowly getting there.

nibdedibble · 15/01/2020 08:17

theweightlossone me too, 1.5lbs heavier than my starting weight. I’m gutted.

It’s so hard when you’re older. If you’re nice and young....don’t allow the weight to pile on without noticing!

Sjanish33 · 15/01/2020 14:25

@nibdedibble I know, I'm perimenopausal and I reckon I need less calories now anyway because I only have to think of cake and I put on weight!

Also I can really notice weight (probably water weight) gathering near and during the menstrual cycle, more than ever.

My second week weigh-in is tomorrow (fingers crossed)

ListenLinda · 15/01/2020 17:10

Pasta tonight. A weighed out portion with my homemade tomato sauce and side salad. Enough calories for a slice or two of garlic bread, but don’t feel comfortable enough to have that ‘treat’ yet

Chocolatemice · 15/01/2020 19:28

I tried to be really good today and walked past a million takeaways on my way home.

SonjaMorgan · 15/01/2020 20:07

Today:
L- peanut butter on toast.
D- 1/4 pizza, salad, cottage cheese and coleslaw.
Snacks were a fibre 1 bar and 2 hobnobs.

Need to up the calories a little so will have some hummus later with celery and broccoli.
