I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

@checkedcloth I've got a 2 yr old and 6 month old - totally understand the need to make something everyone can eat! My best things are bags of frozen broccoli or cauliflower from tesco - chuck them in a pan of boiling water until really really soft then mash. Great low carb base!

jelly79 · 07/01/2020 10:26

Well done all....

Today for me looks like:

B Weetabix / milk (when I get time)
L veg and lentil bake with salad - love this so easy to prep and freeze
T pea and ham soup

Snacks - orange and apple (a chocolate treat of sorts)

Wineloffa · 07/01/2020 11:04

I am down another pound this morning so delighted, maybe I will make it to my goal for my birthday.

As a matter of interest, I embarked on a similar diet last January, 1200 calories a day using MFP, logging all diet and exercise. The only major difference is I was doing C25K last year as my main exercise and this time I’m spinning 3 times a week.

Looking back on last year’s progress logs on MFP, the weight is coming off more quickly this time. Must be the spinning as diet is pretty similar.

Bluewavescrashing · 07/01/2020 14:26

Less said about yesterday the better. But today is looking OK so far.

B- 2 scrambled eggs, half slice toast
L- homemade veg soup, small wholemeal roll, 2 x small chocolates (I spat the rum and raisin out so that doesn't count)
D- sausage mash and greens

Restlessinthenorth · 07/01/2020 17:08

Well done everyone. Had a really busy day so didn't have time to notice feeling hungry!

B 2 egg muffin
L sweet potato, low fat cottage cheese and salad
D will be griddled chicken with rice and salad
Had 2 biscuits earlier so should be well under target

My OH has majorly annoyed me this afternoon so now I'm having to avoid the urge to comfort/grumpy eat!

Designerenvy · 07/01/2020 18:02

@HippoHips, stick with it it can be slow and frustrating. Maybe watch your portion size ( that's what usually catches me ) and measure yourself ...so you can compare as you go along . Best of luck.
I've had too many carbs today but I did stay with in my calorie allowance . Drinking my water too but mo exercise.
Brekkie: 2 slices of multigrain bread with banana and dairy gold.
Lunch : 2 slices of multigrain bread and cheese with ham, tomatoes and onion. An orange.
Dinner: will be beef stew
Snacks : apple and mini bar

Designerenvy · 07/01/2020 18:04

Don't do it @restlessinthenorth. Go for a power walk and get it out of your system .

Restlessinthenorth · 07/01/2020 18:17

Thanks for the encouragement @Designerenvy ! I've vigorously chopped a red cabbage and an new chewing on that 😂

Designerenvy · 07/01/2020 18:31

Good on you @Restlessinthenorth! Keep chopping ( mind the fingers ! Wink) and chewing !

Ferrisbuellersdayoff · 07/01/2020 18:35

Oh good grief, I've put another pound on. Need to stop eating chocolate.

WellErrr · 07/01/2020 20:22

Evening! I’ve had 1380 calories today and burned 450 in exercise.

Lost 5lbs since Boxing Day but I’m still feeling fat and flabby Sad
I had abdominal surgery a few weeks ago which doesn’t help as I think there’s still some swelling from that - but can there really be like 2 months later!?

Need to keep the faith and not give up!

Meals today were:
B - muller fruit corner
L - 250g low cal mediterranean veg pasta with salad
D - chicken and veg stir fry

Snacks - banana, low cal hot chocolate, 70cal bag of chocolate buttons

A very good day for me. 1131 calories eaten and a spinning class.

Breakfast: milky coffee
Lunch: weighed portion of last nights leftovers
Dinner: an enormous plate of stir fried rice and pork
Snack: one choc rice cake

I was down a lb this morning but I tend not to trust my daily weights as it can fluctuate a bit. Definitely going in the right direction though!

Restricting through the day and a big dinner might be the way forward 💪🏻

Twixes · 07/01/2020 21:26

WellErr from my experience with having a c section I was bloated for a good two months so you could definitely still be getting over it. I hope you're feeling well now Smile

beela · 07/01/2020 21:27

Evening! I'm pleased with myself today. I've eaten healthily, avoided the snacks and wine, and made myself do a hiit when my spin class was canceled. Let's see if it translates to the scales later in the week.

checkedcloth · 07/01/2020 21:29

Evening all

B - half a sachet of porridge (was glue like so could only eat half)

L - small jacket potato and prawns

D - spag Bol

Have only managed to drink 2 cups of tea today, I must increase my water intake

Wineloffa · 07/01/2020 21:31

Well done everyone! Keep up the good work!

Today I have eaten:

B- 2 hard boiled eggs and slice wheaten
L - low fat hummus and rice cakes
D - homemade potato and leek soup with sourdough bread

Snacks - apple, banana, muller yogurt and blueberries

Drinks - 2 coffees, 2 litres water, 2 mint teas

Only exercise was yoga. Will make up for it tomorrow.

Patchworksack · 07/01/2020 21:46

Not great today - due on my period and craving sugar!
Lunch tuna salad
Dinner chicken traybake
Had several pieces of fruit as snacks and this evening resorted to a bowl of muesli. What I really want is chocolate but if I start that it will be the whole bar...

OverByYer · 07/01/2020 22:24

Good day today

B granola , Skyr and blueberries
L ham and salad sandwich on granary bread, cup of greens soup
D gammon and cauliflower cheese, skipped the mash

Snack nature valley peanut butter cup

Ran 4 miles

HippoHips · 07/01/2020 23:55

Ah, thanks Designerenvy

Today I had...
Breakfast: coffee
Lunch: Foccacia roll (which according to MFP gobbles calories) with ham and salad
Dinner: Steak, salad, roasted veg.
Drinks: water, peppermint tea, Coke Zero
Snacks: Pineapple and half a bag of crisps.

I’m 45 calories over my daily allowance so I’m not sure my leisurely dog walk will have cut the mustard. Sticking to Dry January. Doing My Fitness Pal for calorie counting and on my recommended intake I am constantly starving. I’m now both hungry and teetotal (and I am moaning about both A LOT!)

Octopus37 · 08/01/2020 07:16

Yesterdays food:
Breakfast - 2 oat cakes and a v small portion of flaked almonds
Lunch - Went to Kokoro (its my Birthday on Thursday and DH is working) and had Sweet Chili Chicken and Rice, didn't finish it.
Dinner - 1 Muller Light, 1 Crust of seeded bread toasted with 1 mini Babybel

On the plus side I am feeling more in control with food, less hangry. Me leaving food and not being able to eat it all really doesn't happen very often. Feel as if I am getting my head round earring less and eating proper food rather than junk. On the not so plus side, the scales are not moving, quarter of a pound up this morning, really wanted to be 9.7 something for my Birthday tomorrow and honestly believe when I look at how badly I normally eat I should be making progress. Also haven't had any alcohol since NYE. Reading back my day's food it does look quite carb heavy but I'm not starving and I am feeling more in control. Just hope that my body hasn't forgotten to lose weight, patience I guess cause I would normally be loosing by mow. Just had the same breakfast now

footchewer · 08/01/2020 10:36

Well done all, particularly impressed with those finding the energy to do spin classes and the like!

I've now gone back below the Horrid Wrong Number in the Stones column of the bathroom scales, thank goodness. Still slightly above BMI 24.9 and a long way above my target weight for my 40th birthday later this year, but getting there, and have undone at least some of the Xmas damage. Hopefully it carries on in this way.

Best of luck to all!

TheHoundsofLove · 08/01/2020 11:25

Keep up the excellent work! I've had a good week so far. I did my fast day yesterday and have managed to go for a run and do my weights this morning, so I'm definitely going to give 5:2 another go. I'm hoping the difference this time might be that I've got used to running in the morning without breakfast anyway. We shall see... But anyhow, I'm having gnocchi for lunch and am so looking forward to it!

fastliving · 08/01/2020 12:46

Down 3.5 lbs to 9st 6.5lbs, aim is back to around 8.12/9st, got a big family party on the 1st Feb, so I'm hoping to be halfway there at least by then.

Yesterday's Menu:
B - Museli & full fat milk
L - Veg Soup & Bread & Blue Cheese
S - scrambled eggs, avo, bread, handful of raisins.

I don't eat much when I'm dieting - I find I'm better sticking at it if I eat carbs & fat, just in smaller quantities.
I also am trying to not go supermarket shopping and eat up my fridge/freezer/cupboards so my meals aren't very inspiring!

Evening: yoga type class at the gym, dog only got a short walk around the block as the weather was terrible yesterday.

Elbacar · 08/01/2020 13:09

Hi,new on here.im going to sw lost 10lbs so far in 6 weeks. Just need to stick to it now got just over 2 sts left to target. Dreading maintaining but I'm going to stay to group this time. Thought I'd start chatting to like minded people.

Patchworksack · 08/01/2020 13:45

Hi @elbacar welcome!

I had a nice lunch of Jamie Oliver sachet of quinoa with tomatoes/olives with some cooked chicken and green veggies. I think that is < 500 cals and it was very filling and tasty. (half quinoa sachet 200 cals, veg bag 100 cals, chicken 165 cals per 100g and I had half a large chicken breast) I'm planning to take an orange back to work to have as a snack later so I'm not tempted by whatever cake is on offer, then DH is cooking dinner later.
