I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

OK, today is day 1 for me (I was being half hearted and had a house full of visitors over the weekend).

Weighed in at 64.1kg this morning, the heaviest I've been in a couple of years Blush

DivaRainbow · 06/01/2020 09:00

Just weighed myself and im 9st10 from 10st bang on.. So buzzing even after my awful day yesterday

Wineloffa · 06/01/2020 09:03

Well done Wellerr and Patchwork!

I just weighed myself and I’m now 9st 4 so down 2lbs from NY Day. Pleased with that!

Bluewavescrashing · 06/01/2020 09:45

Great work going on here! Keep it up!

I'm finding that, like others, if I plan my meals it really helps me stay on track. Today I'm aiming for

Breakfast - peanut butter on one slice of toast, apple, coffee
Lunch- couscous with chargrilled veg, yoghurt
Dinner- sausage and mash with veg

Already I'm finding chocolate less appealing and there's loads in the house. 🙂 Getting off the sugar roller-coaster is good.

zzzzzzzx · 06/01/2020 10:04

I’ve taken all our left over chocolates and mince pies in to work today to remove temptation!

zzzzzzzx · 06/01/2020 10:07

Does anyone have any recommendations for treadmills?

TheHoundsofLove · 06/01/2020 12:05

Well done to those of you who have seen a loss! And keep on everyone who hasn’t...yet! 💪
I weighed in at 10st1 this morning - a 2.5lb gain over the Christmas period. Trying to remind myself that I’m still over 2 stones lighter than last January. I feel pretty back on track now though - went for a 12km run this morning and have done 20minutes on my weights. Then I think I’m going to do a fast day tomorrow. We can definitely do this!

Bobbi73 · 06/01/2020 12:13

Down from 10.7 on the 1st to 10.4. I suspect that just not eating crap constantly is helping. Last night my husband brought out the last of the cheese and biscuits so I ate some of that but otherwise I've been eating healthily. Good work everyone x

MeanwhileAtNumber98 · 06/01/2020 12:32

@jelly79
I was 15st this time 3 years ago so I'm desperate to get back down to 9st as that was my target weight. It can creep back so easily 😩

TheHoundsofLove · 06/01/2020 12:57

Meanwhile That’s a massive achievement- well done. It certainly can creep back on though, can’t it? I think it’s quite scary how easily and quickly it is to get out of good habits. It’s one of the reasons that I might give 5:2 another go as I do think it could be a good way for me to maintain over the long term.

footchewer · 06/01/2020 13:14

Another one here; I've gone and put on 1/2 a stone in 2 1/2 weeks! I'm pleased I didn't know that when I went swimming yesterday!

It's 1/2 a stone I spent most of autumn losing as well. I blame being the only one in the family who likes blue cheese and christmas pudding (not at the same time obvs). Oh well, I suppose at least I did lose it last year, I'd be in a much worse place now if I hadn't.

Looks like this year is going to be one long diet. God job I like soup. Best of luck everyone, will keep following this thread!

beela · 06/01/2020 14:41

@footchewer blue cheese and Christmas cake at the same time though.... so good!

Twixes · 06/01/2020 14:45

Well done to everyone and staying focused 💪🏻

I had my first official weigh in this morning. I'm not going to post my weight cos I'm a shortie but I have a bmi of 24.5. Only just about in the healthy range...

Today I've had:

Coffee
A boiled egg
Stupidly delicious fangiapane
Tiniest bit of quiche
More coffee
Tonight for dinner it's homemade sweet and our chicken with rice

MeanwhileAtNumber98 · 06/01/2020 14:47

@TheHoundsofLove
It really is scary...I'm destined to a life of calorie counting! I got to my goal weight after 18 months but have put half a stone back on, lost it again, back on...you get the picture! I know how much better I feel back at 9stone so I'm back on the wagon today.
My friend does 5.2 and maintains fairly well..better than me anyway!

Musicalstatues · 06/01/2020 15:12

Hi, could I join too please!

I turned 40 at the end of last year. Before kids I was naturally slim with no effort at all. Ate junk, hardly exercised, spent years at about 8.5st (I’m 5ft2)
I’m currently 9st 12lb and just feel so yucky. It’s nearly all on my tummy and I only have small boobs so can’t carry it off at all! I’ve been ‘trying’ to lose weight for a couple of years now but in fact my weight has been creeping up because I haven’t really been trying at all! Dh and I are both awful for stuffing our faces in the evening, chocolates, biscuits etc etc. And I’m a sahm so just nibble all day.

I don’t want to be a fat 40 year old though and I know it’s only going to get harder so this is the year I really need to shift those extra lbs. I would ideally like to get to about 8st 12lb but I’d be happy with being back to 9st!

Kids go back to school tomorrow so that is my start date.....

Wineloffa · 06/01/2020 15:46

Welcome Musicalstatues! I’m also short and have nowhere to carry weight so I know the feeling! My goal weight is the same as yours, we can do this!

Just popping in to post today’s food diary;

B - porridge with blueberries and cinnamon
L - pot LF hummus and rice cakes
Snacks - banana, handful of nuts and apple
D - will be a spicy red lentil dal with sweet potato and spinach

I have also had 2 coffees and 2 litres of water.

Exercise:
30 mins yoga
3k dog walk
Heading to a spin class later

Back to work tomorrow so hoping it doesn’t all fall asunder then!

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 06/01/2020 16:11

I weighed in today at 11.4 lbs which was an inexplicable gain of 2lb since Saturday! However I still have lost 3.9lb since the 27th Jan. I'm on my period so maybe that explains the weird gain, as I've stuck to the WW points rigidly! I do get demoralised on diets when they don't seem to.work for me...

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 06/01/2020 16:11

27th Dec not Jan!

Bobbi73 · 06/01/2020 16:48

I always gain about 2 pounds when I get my period. I'm not sure if it's water weight or genuine because of the chocolate cravings. 😀

Cazmo2312 · 06/01/2020 17:18

That’s brilliant. I weighed myself this morning on my Fitbit scales and it said 13.13.8. So today I cycled to work and back (2 x 8 miles 40 mins each) I also did a weight training class - 30 mins p, hill walking for 15 mins and walking the dog 35 mins. At time of writing I have burnt off 3500 calories. Hopefully show a difference by end of week. Target weight 11 stone 🙈

checkedcloth · 06/01/2020 17:32

Can I join in too?

Am weighing in at 11.5 and need to loose at least 8 pounds.

My turning point has come in that at 43 I am peri-menopausal and I’m really struggling with the symptoms. My GP has advised me to loose weight, exercise, reduce the booze and eat far more cleanly in the hope I can minimise the symptoms somewhat before going straight for HRT.

Equally I’ve just found out I have high blood pressure too.

So I want to loose weight from both health and imagine perspective. Haven’t had any booze since NYE and no sweets / chocolate/ crisps since the 2nd.

Still weight 11.5 but hoping it’s just a slow start...

Restlessinthenorth · 06/01/2020 17:42

So today....

B 2 homemade egg and veggie muffin things
L sweet potato with low fat cottage cheese and salad
D roast chicken with veggies and a couple of roasties

Just got on scales and shocked at 10'5! Absolutely focused now on shifting a stone

fastliving · 06/01/2020 17:57

Can I join?
Somehow I've managed to put on over 11lbs in six weeks - I did go abroad to one of my favourite foodie destinations & another long weekend abroad, and obviously Christmas, but I am truly shocked how much I've put on, especially as I haven't really drunk alcohol much during the period.
Was under 9st and now am 9st 10.
Might not be able to keep up with this thread as it's so fast moving!
Hoping to lose everything in a couple of months max as I am not happy on a diet!

B: Museli
D: Veg soup, 2 pieces of sourdough, some leftover roast chicken, 1 small biscuit.
Lots of sweet tea through the day (busy at work so no lunch)

I'm not the healthiest eater in the winter!

Will go out for a short walk/run with the dog in a bit even though it's really miserable here.

JonesyK · 06/01/2020 18:14

Breakfast
Overnight oats
Lunch. Steak with vegetables
Dinner fish with salad and new potatoes
Snacks apple and satsuma

Octopus37 · 06/01/2020 18:38

Today I have had the following:
Breakfast - 2 oatcakes, a few flaked almonds
Lunch - About 2/3 bag of Graze nut protein
Snacks - 1 chocolate, 2 mini Babybel lights
Dinner - Slimming World Roast Sausage bake recipe, including Slimming World sausages (I ate 4), baby new potatos, fennel and onions.
TBH have probably eaten a bit too much today, but actually haven't been starving which is good
