I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

I'm now wasting time going down a Jordan Syett rabbit hole! Grin

everycowandagain · 27/01/2020 15:37

Yeah I have watched quite a few of his vids today instead of doing all the things I was supposed to be doing! I also liked the one about working out your calories. It reminded me of the importance of consistency.

MyuMe · 27/01/2020 16:02

My hips hurt, my groin hurts, my back hurts. My knee hurts. Am I just talking myself out of the gym...

Heygirlheyboy · 27/01/2020 16:58

Great video! Thank you. Definitely worth counting and weighing out twixes.

toasterstrudle · 27/01/2020 18:24

Going to watch the video when kids are in bed, thanks! A good day today,

B-2 eggs, english muffin, 10g butter
L- Pita bread, smoked salmon, lettuce and cucumber
T- thai green curry and rice (homemade so pretty low cal and heavy on the veg)
Ex - 10k steps and weight training at the gym

Heygirlheyboy · 27/01/2020 18:44

Toaster if you like smoked salmon, I saw a lovely recipe - 1 egg omelette as wrap around smoked salmon and cream cheese. Yum!

Wineloffa · 27/01/2020 18:48

Hello everyone, I’m back from my birthday weekend 2lbs heavier so back on it today!!! Currently 9st 2

Today I ate:
B- porridge
L- smoked salmon & wheaten bread
D- chicken curry + small portion rice

Snacks- Apple

Also did a spin class this evening. Hopefully this weight gain is mostly beer bloat and I’ll be back to my previous weight by the weekend!

toasterstrudle · 27/01/2020 18:49

@Heygirlheyboy that sounds delicious!

toasterstrudle · 27/01/2020 18:50

Also well done @Wineloffa, got to cut loose from the diet strings for birthdays definitely! 2lbs is nothing!

Wineloffa · 27/01/2020 19:08

@toasterstrudel I didn’t count calories for the 3 days we were away but I did try and make good food choices at the hotel breakfast buffet and when we went out for dinner, etc. I drank like a sailor though!! But I’m glad I let it all go for the weekend as we had an amazing time so it was all worth it (even my 2lb gain). Smile

Patchworksack · 27/01/2020 19:39

Happy birthday wineloffa
I now have a mental picture of heygirl weighing a pile of Twix bars - will have to watch the vid so I know what you are all on about. Intruiging Harry Potter references too!

Heygirlheyboy · 27/01/2020 19:45

Ha ha sorry Patch I was talking about twixes the poster!!! She should really rename herself LettuceLeaf! 😜

DontFundHate · 27/01/2020 19:57

Happy birthday! @Wineloffa

A good day today. I realised part way through the day that I'm not meeting my 5 a day which was another resolution of mine, so I will try to make sure to do this from now on

B - 2 slices fruit toast with butter
L - wrap pizza with tomatoes and ham
S - pear
D - chinese chicken veg and rice

And managed a short run this eve, am lacking a bit of energy though as quite a low cal day.

Also planned out tomorrow with my 5 a day and well within calories, still planning to save them up for a takeaway on Friday Wink

TheHoundsofLove · 27/01/2020 19:59

Glad you had fun Wine !
I really fancy a Twix now! 😂

WellErrr · 27/01/2020 20:48

Happy birthday Wine!!

DontFund I’m very intrigued about your pizza wraps!? They sound lovely!

MyuMe don’t gym if you’re in pain Flowers or have a gentle swim maybe?

It’s been my day off today. I’ve still counted calories and weighed, but I’ve got out whatever I want and THEN weighed it IYSWIM. Had just over 2000 calories, which would have been a normal day for me before, but which seems ridiculous now!

Back on it tomorrow. I’m on a long shift, 1050cal day planned.

Oh dear god

I've just realised I have 3 months until a holiday I plan on wearing a bikini on.

Shock

Oh crap.

Right start again. I have 3 months

Any ideas for 1200 calls a day that wont leave me starving ?

Heygirlheyboy · 27/01/2020 21:02

Well done. I have 119 days to go to target weight. Bleurgh.

Porridge, bananas, eggs, salads with something tasty and leaves piled high. Ratatouille with halloumi and salad mountain. Soda bread and butter. Lots of water. Decent hot dinners. Nuts.

WellErrr · 27/01/2020 21:14

You can do it MyuMe 💪

You might be hungry at first but you’ll get used to it. You need to be a bit hungry so you know it’s working 😂

I can tell you what I do but everyone’s different :)

Breakfast - no more than 150cals. I find a big breakfast or eating as soon as I get up starts my metabolism wanting food, so I usually have a fat free Actimel (27cals) 45 mins or so after I get up, then a banana (80cals) sometime later.

Lunch - I have my main meal at lunchtime as I don’t like eating a heavy meal in the evenings. So I’ll have something around 5-600cals. This might be a jacket potato with chilli or tuna, or homemade chicken fajita with peppers and onions, or veg curry. You can have a good portion for 600cals.

Dinner - I might have small weighed portion of whatever the children are having, or more often something like porridge, or granola with fat free natural yogurt. Both around 250cals.

So that would be around 900-1000. Leaving 200-300 contingency for snacks through the day. That might be a large banana and two apples, or a galaxy hot chocolate (100cals), a banana and a digestive, or a piece of cheese or a nice yogurt.

It’s really doable as long as you choose the right things. If you’re throwing away calories on 100cal bags of air filled diet crisps etc then you really will be starving and faint.

The diet above left me ravenous for the first few days but I’m genuinely fine now, and at this point rarely get starving hungry, or get cravings. If you’d told me that a month ago I’d have said you were mad!

I find that day one is awful. Day two is worse. Day three is difficult. But then after that it gets so much easier. If you can stick to the calories, really stick to them, weigh foods out etc then you have to start seeing results - it’s science!

Really wishing you the very best of luck MyuMe Flowers

When during the day are you finding you feel starving myume?
Are you eating enough protein? If you eat lots of high GI foods/simple carbs you tend to get the blood sugar spike and crash that then makes you hungry again and sluggish. If your meals are mainly protein and veg then they are more filling and plenty of fibre/vitamins/5-a-day. I'm doing 16:8 which means I skip breakfast and I honestly have not struggled with that at all - then I have plenty of scope for 400 cals at lunch, 600 at dinner and a couple of snacks. The bit I have found difficult is the evenings but the 8pm cutoff has made me at least question my habitual snacking - which I think is when I would eat a lot of 'empty' calories otherwise.
Have you ever tried protein shakes? They are probably not a good idea every day, but you could replace the odd meal with one - they are 150-200 calories and they do fill you up for several hours.

MyuMe · 27/01/2020 21:24

Early morning. I get up very early

Also when I get home. I start picking on bread and crackers even after dinner

WellErrr · 27/01/2020 21:27

In that case, remove bread and crackers from the house. I had to get rid of everything snackable at first.
I’m ok now as I’ve broken the habit, but I think you just need to get rid at first.

I work very long shifts, I’ve found that having porridge and a yogurt around 6pm and an apple on the way home is enough, and then I don’t eat once I’m home.

Patchworksack · 27/01/2020 21:39

So you need to plan some healthy filling breakfasts to eat before you leave the house - porridge, overnight oats, scrambled eggs? Do you tend to not eat much them go for the coffee and croussants option on your journey?

Patchworksack · 27/01/2020 21:41

The eating after dinner is just a bad habit (which I totally share) you can't be truly hungry if you've just eaten a decent meal.

Patchworksack · 27/01/2020 21:42

WTF are croussants?? Croissants!

toasterstrudle · 27/01/2020 21:42

My worst habit is toast after dinner. In total contrast to @Wellerr (just shows how different we all are!) I have a bigger breakfast every day with toast. So I know I can last out the hunger in the evening with the thought I can have toast and soon as I get up if I want. I have 2 medium size boiled eggs and a toasted english muffin every day. I hard boil the eggs the day before if I need to get out jn a rush. The trick is to have barely any butter. I have 10g which is 75 calories. My breakfast is 350 cals with butter, 285 without.

My downfall is snacking, so I dont snack. Leaves me more calories for meals. Just a different approach!
