I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

@Octopus37 I dont know about you but I try to give myself a 'new day fresh start' mentality if I've got a bit detailed the day before. So I wouldnt skip a meal as that sets me off into a binge-restrict cycle (you may be different!). This is different to when I've consciously planned a treat and budgeted my calories accordingly in the lead up. Sustainable lifestyle and all that!

toasterstrudle · 26/01/2020 11:36

*detailed was supposed to read derailed

Octopus37 · 26/01/2020 12:13

You're right Toaster, I didn't miss breakfast in the end. Still really hungry today though

TheHoundsofLove · 26/01/2020 12:40

Heygirl Are you having no processed sugar at all?
toaster Sounds sensible - we all need a day off sometimes.
Octopus I think there are genuinely days when we need to eat more - could you maybe allow yourself some extra calories to get you over this hungry phase?
I'm enjoying today being an 'eating' day! Grin I went for my long run this morning and managed 20km but then got home and promptly devoured 2 homemade waffles with chocolate spread.

Heygirlheyboy · 26/01/2020 13:17

TheHoundsOfLove I am off processed sugar I suppose yes as my meals have also been healthy, like octopus, but maybe not enough protein ad veg up to this, but I slip so quickly into a binge. I've heard that best for me to stay away atogether for a month or so to strengthen the good habits before allowing small amounts... it's a bit scary really feeling like that about chocolate particularly. It's easuer now having none rather than some.

Heygirlheyboy · 26/01/2020 13:18

PS 20k is amazing. 5 is good for me!

Twixes · 26/01/2020 14:00

Well done @Octopus37!

It so heartening to hear people's targets. I'm a very slight 5'0 and would love to be 8stone. That would put me at a bmi of 21.48. Currently 8 stone 10 lbs which I know is near some people's target but it shows on me and none of my clothes fit! I think I was 7stone 8lbs when I got married 5 years ago! Shock

While 8 stone is currently my target, I'm certainly not losing weight in any way quickly. Zero discipline at the moment and wavered badly over the weekend. 3 weeks in and I think I might be 2lbs down. Sigh.

Twixes · 26/01/2020 14:01

20km?! Wow that's good, well done @TheHoundsofLove

TheHoundsofLove · 26/01/2020 14:23

Thanks Hey and Twixes .
Twixes I'm of a very slight build too. When I was 7st12 I looked slender but not in any way too thin - I looked in proportion for my bone structure. At least it's 2lbs in the right direction!

everycowandagain · 26/01/2020 14:47

I have been doing OK, didn't go crazy at pizza hut on Friday and managed to avoid the chicken nuggets at a kids party yesterday (took an apple and fat free yogurt with me!) so I am hoping to see some progress on the scales tomorrow once AF is gone.

I feel like I have about 5 pounds of body fat to lose so still some work to do.

DontFundHate · 26/01/2020 15:06

Not well today. Probably just a 24hr thing that dp had a few days ago. Trying to keep to my limit though as will kick myself tomorrow if not.

Today's menu
B - muffins
L - tom kerridge corn tortilla pizza
D - as above x 2
S - 2 biscuits probably

Fingers crossed for tomorrow everyone! This hasn't been my best week but I'm still hoping for a bit of a loss, might have a look at my target then

Heygirlheyboy · 26/01/2020 15:18

Who knew roast beef, steamed potatoes, turnip and gravy was so low cal?! Pleasantly surprised. Will be on track for morning weigh'

everycowandagain · 26/01/2020 15:42

I am thinking about trying low carb except for before and after exercise, similar to one of the phases of the Joe Wicks plans. It might help move that last 5 pounds or so.

Need to be careful though, I do get low blood sugar if I train hard and don't eat enough. I may give it a go in a week or so, see if it is manageable or not.

Maybe I just need to stick to what I am doing, it is working, but I am just getting a bit impatient I think.

Twixes · 26/01/2020 18:16

It's good to have someone not completely freak out at the thought of someone being under 8 stone @TheHoundsofLove! To most people it sounds as if I'd look like i was sick at that weight but I swear i just look athletic, no bones showing or anything

Twixes · 26/01/2020 18:24

I found this online and thought it was interesting.

Anyone want to be weight loss fwends? 10lbs to lose..!
Twixes · 26/01/2020 18:27

My current bmi is the same as the 5'8 girl...goal weight but probably unattainable is far right Smile

wastingtimeworrying · 26/01/2020 18:41

Hi all. I am 5ft 1 and aiming for 8st7lb but i find maintaining impossible. If i am super strict I can drop 2lb but few bad days it very quickly goes back on. Am attempting low carb (ditching all the bread) and have just re-started zumba, aiming for twice a week. Fingers crossed

toasterstrudle · 26/01/2020 19:54

I think people forget to factor bone/frame and muscle mass in - that picture is really interesting @twixes! I'm 5'7 and currently 9st8 which on some people would no doubt be tiny but it's not on me, I'm a size 10-12 with a muffin top over my size 10 jeans. I can feel the extra body fat I'm carrying and I want that gone, regardless of whatever the scales say!

Suzie2021 · 26/01/2020 20:14

How was everyone’s diet over weekend? I was good Friday but spoilt it Saturday n Sunday. Just had dominoes pizza with wedges and half a bottle of wine! I’m not being too hard on myself as I have managed to stay healthy all week. I’ll just be more organised next Friday and have meals n snacks prepped for weekend.

Patchworksack · 26/01/2020 22:06

Weekends are difficult here too. Did ok yesterday, but we had people round for lunch today and did jacket spuds so I had mine with tuna and salad, but they brought crumble and ice cream and it would have been rude not to! I will weigh tomorrow anyway but I think I will have a couple of stricter days and go for my weigh-in Wednesday if I don't like what the scales say!

Heygirlheyboy · 26/01/2020 22:12

Look in reality longterm we're going to have those days, hopefully it's the little things we're doing consistently that will help us get there!

WellErrr · 26/01/2020 22:38

Just checking in quickly as I’m knackered after a very long shift. 1318cals today, was only 900 till about an hour ago but I got in exhausted and hungry and had some leftovers and a digestive. Wish I hadn’t now but hey ho.

Well done to all the disciplined ones! And those that have slipped slightly this week, remember tomorrow is a new day and a new week! I am telling myself this regularly...!

See you all back here for weigh in tomorrow! I’ll be pleased if I’ve just maintained at 8st10lbs as I’d put 2lbs on in my midweek weigh in..! 🙄 Good luck everyone!
