I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

I have just realised I havent been logging my daily cod liver oil and it's over 100 cals a day! :(

Patchworksack · 25/01/2020 09:20

I would never have thought about that @heygirl. I just checked and my 1000mg omega capsules are 9 calories, so if it bothers you then you could swap.
I didn't enjoy my Chinese meal as much as I thought because DH ate with the kids and went out as soon as I got back from work, so it was a plate of reheated stuff eaten on my own. I probably ate much less that way though.

Heygirlheyboy · 25/01/2020 09:30

Thanks patch, apparently the pure oil is better... will see. It might just be worth factoring it in. I also had a curry last night,my take away does a half portion and of I left a lot of the rice. It was lovely. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll have to add 700+ cals to my last week 😕

Octopus37 · 25/01/2020 10:45

Wasn't going to weigh in until Monday but was dead om 9st7 this morning, so pretty pleased with that. Would still like to lose at least another 9 pounds though, will set a proper target when I get nearer to it. Just want to be properly under 9st. Fantasise about 8st7 or even 8 (was that a few years ago when the kids were little) but don't know if I will be able to maintain it and might end up looking too thin in the face and older, would also lose my boobs. I'm 45 and 5ft5 tall (not that tall I know) but trying to be realistic

Patchworksack · 25/01/2020 10:58

Well done Octopus! Your final target sounds, um, ambitious?? I'm 5'3 and I'm aiming for 9 stone which is middle of BMI. 8 stone would surely be a very low BMI for your height - 18ish?

TheHoundsofLove · 25/01/2020 11:27

Well done Octopus - you’re doing fabulously! It’s hard deciding on a target isn’t it?
I’m aiming for 8st7 (less than a stone to go now 💪) mostly because most of my old clothes will comfortably fit me then I think. I’m slightly obsessed with getting back in my leather leggings! I was 7st12 in my twenties (5’3”) but not sure that would be achievable now...

DontFundHate · 25/01/2020 11:32

Oh no reheated Chinese isn't such a treat is it! We've had half portions for a year or two now, still lots of lovely food but no uncomfortably stuffed after which is nice. We do share a starter too though.

I think 8st is a fine target, I was 8 stone when I was 18 and looked amazing! And still a healthy BMI. I guess everyone's body shape is different. For me I carry all of my weight on my thighs (not bothered) and tummy (very bothered!) so even just a bit of extra weight is noticeable to me as it's not really spread out much! I'm not planning to ever get there again though, for me it was too difficult to maintain

toasterstrudle · 25/01/2020 12:17

Well done @Octopus37!! I'm similar, not sure what my goal weight actually is. I'm 5'7 but lost loads of muscle mass in my last pregnancies and have a small bone frame so I'm basically trying to lose fat until I'm satisfied my fat percentage is lower, then going to set about building some muscle back. Had 4 pregnancies in the last 3 years (2 babies) and 3 surgeries (emcs, d&c and elcs) so probably no surprise my body has changed so much! I feel like I'm just getting to know it again, bit weird but I'm definitely finished having children so now setting about building and maintaining a body I want for the rest of my life (perhaps a bit ambitious but a girl can dream!)

toasterstrudle · 25/01/2020 12:17

*last 4 years, I forgot we're in 2020 now!

MyuMe · 25/01/2020 12:27

I would've happy at 9st 7lbs it just under. I got there last year and regained some of it.

I don't want to look old or age my face so I wont be aspiring to be the weight I was in my teens

Did body pump this morning

Heygirlheyboy · 25/01/2020 12:40

Ideally 8.5 for me but will be thrilled once under nine and the habit of gorging and relying on sugar for a pick me up is gone. A veg filled pizza wrap and salad for lunch here :)

jelly79 · 25/01/2020 15:58

Hey all!! I have been off radar a bit this week with work, job interview and a toddler who doesn't want to go to bed!
I have been hit and miss really - made good food choices, not tracked and grazed on chocolate of a night when I'm tired (and feel deserved of a treat!)

Ran 5k Monday and was crap, didn't run for the rest of the week (find it hard getting out regularly being a single parent)
Have ran 11 miles today and feel chuffed! Weighed in too

9st 8.5 - that's 5lb down this year 🙂

jelly79 · 25/01/2020 16:01

@Heygirlheyboy that sounds so yummy!!

Patchworksack · 25/01/2020 19:00

well done jelly!

DontFundHate · 25/01/2020 19:30

Good luck and well done jelly!

Weekends are always hard for me! I hope tomorrow will be easier as I know I'll weigh in on Mon!

B - tom kerridge pancakes
L - Small chip bitty
D - home made curry

Also did my PB run time this morning so very pleased!

WellErrr · 25/01/2020 20:14

Hi jelly! Well done on your run!

DontFund this made me think of Little Britain 😂😂

L - Small chip bitty

Re convo about target weights - I’m happy at 8st10 (or I was 🤔😂 - I’ll be back there next week! 🤞) but 8st7 would be amazing! Going to try my best!

So after a week of cheats and treats I’ve had a funny day today - 933cals but I haven’t been hungry all day which I find a bit disconcerting...!

B - Actimel (76 - forgot to buy no added sugar!)
L - weighed out veg and tuna wholewheat pasta with salad (272cals)
D - Lidl porridge pot with raspberries (185cals)

S - galaxy hot chocolate (100cals) handful of crisps (73cals) apple (51cals) one slice of buttered toast (176)

400cals on snacks. Need to watch that, better to have them with meals surely?

DontFundHate · 25/01/2020 20:30

Oh no I didn't spot that!! Hahaha it was very tasty anyway Grin

Yes I totally agree about snacks. I've always eaten pretty healthily but portions a bit too big for lunch and snacks definitely my downfall, they add up so quickly! At the moment I'm trying to stick to none or one snack at the most, or a glass of wine which is what I had this eve

I'm aiming to be a tiny bit below target as a bit of a buffer!

DontFundHate · 25/01/2020 20:31

I don't think I've been posting my snacks on here! Because usually they are later on in the eve, but about half the time I have nothing and other nights I'll have maybe a biscuit or a small glass of wine

Octopus37 · 25/01/2020 20:32

O dear, have eaten about 10 chocolate biscuits (not all in one go) and had a can of Strongbow Dark Fruit. Totally back on track tomorrow, just felt really tired, under the weather and had the munchies, felt like I needed the energy. Need to draw a line under it and carry on as normal tomorrow, although I am going out for a drink tomorrow night with one of my friends. Might skip breakfast to try and make it ok. Live and learn. Re m my target, going to go for 8st12 and then take it from there, not sure I can get much lower than that anyway and still have 9 pound (excluding whatever weight gain today has caused) to go. Would be pleased if I reach target by the beginning of May

DontFundHate · 25/01/2020 20:32

Oh and always eaten healthily as in healthy meals BUT used to have plenty of cake and chocolate too!

DontFundHate · 25/01/2020 20:34

Sounds very sensible @Octopus37 I think it'll take me a while to each target too, may sounds so far away! But I can notice the difference already, I had bought some jeans which did fit but left me with a huge muffin top. I didn't return them as I knew I'd be losing weight so I've kept them and they already look so so much better. Another month or two and they should look really nice Smile

toasterstrudle · 25/01/2020 21:34

Well done Jelly on the run! And well done Octopus on the jeans progress! I also have a couple of pairs that do up but muffin top - hoping to wear them sometime soon.

Today's fare:
B- usual 😆 (english muffin/2 eggs/10g butter)
L-baked potato, tin of tuna, tbsp mayo, salad
T-Elly Pear's puy lentils with panko breadcrumbs, veg and 2 fried eggs, yum!
Snacks - flatbread with 10g peanut butter and half an apple
Around 1300cals all in ✅ Monday weigh in looming on the horizon is keeping me on track!

Patchworksack · 25/01/2020 22:23

I had avocado and bacon on ryvita for lunch, then finishing DH's overcatering on Chinese food for tea - we had a small piece of lemon chicken each and noodle/veg stir fry. I was starving afterwards - prob as too carby and too little protein (?) and I had a protein shake an hour later as I was still hungry and figured that was better at 150 cals than going snack happy. It's definitely making me think about the composition of meals - I would normally have been full but I would have had spring rolls, prawn crackers, rice etc.

Octopus37 · 26/01/2020 09:16

Didn't skip breakfast, eaten my usual oatcakes and nuts. But tbh on ,y period, low on energy and today's a new day. Up 0.75 pounds, thought it would be loads worse. Onwards and downwards

Heygirlheyboy · 26/01/2020 09:43

I think gain of up to 3lbs normal during your period octopus.

TMI but I've noticed with no sugar I'm not as regular as used toto 'be.. I'm eating lots of veg and a piece if fruit or two each day. I feel it's going to slow the weight loss. I weigh in tomorrow first thing. I'll be like you next week.octopus so hope have another pound off tomorrow. Will walk later.
