I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Tell me about it @Patchworksack! I'm also doing Dry Jan and I'm enjoying the clearheadedness. My kids are brutal sleepers at the moment so the thought of adding even the old glass of wine to the mix is horrendous. I've been up since 5am all this week with our 4yo and our 2yo also wakes in the night. I was so cranky with them both this morning!!

We've a night booked for the 1st Feb so I'll definitely have a drink then but my plan is to try to limit it to nights out after that.

everycowandagain · 23/01/2020 11:54

@toasterstrudel I do try to keep my protein up, although I also need to keep the carbs at a reasonable level to get through my workouts so I probably should keep a closer eye on my macros all round.

Had porridge with chocolate protein powder for breakfast this morning and I am feeling a bit less sluggish. Decided to take today as a rest day so I will get back in the gym tomorrow. Feel like I could sleep 10 hours night at the moment!!

Octopus37 · 23/01/2020 12:38

Don'tFund hope you are ok. Well done everyone.

Yesterday - 2 oat cakes, 7 almonds (what a surprise
Lunch - Crust of bread with 1 babybel light
Dinner - Asda Jamaican Jerk Soup (was delicious)
Fruit crumble = did eat a bit too much
Today - Usual breakfast
Tuscan chicken, tomato and grain Glorious soup (wasn't that glorious tbh but only 222 calories)
A large apple
Have another BOL ready meal which I will have for dinner and will probably have some chocolate later. Think perod is due, a bit of a difficult week, work worries kids ill. Haven't done much exercise so aiming to step that up next week.

Patchwork and Twixes I did Dry January last year and it did really reset my relationship with alcohol. So much so, that I haven't felt any need to do it this year. I enjoy sharing a bottle of wine with my husband on a Saturday and Sunday night, but don't even really think about it the rest of the time.
I feel like I'm in quite a good routine now - still tweaking how best to fit my runs in with fasting, but feel like I'm getting there.

WellErrr · 23/01/2020 15:14

Can I join the tired crew today??? Just no energy at all! I felt amazing first 2-3 weeks, but since nearing target I’ve had a few treats (sugar!) and now feeling knackered and sluggish.

I wonder if it’s all related!?

AF just arrived early which might explain why I am so tired. Had a reasonable food day, protein porridge for breakfast, fat free skyr as a snack, chicken, green bean salad and a banana for lunch, snack of cucumber/carrot/cherry tomatoes and another snack of a corn cake with protein choc spread and later have left over quorn chilli with veg. Planning an early night too.

toasterstrudle · 23/01/2020 19:31

Good effort today everyone! Another thought to those who are tired - are you taking a multivitamin and minerals? I dip noticeably on days I'm not having them, esp iron makes a difference to me. I have multivit daily and aim to hit protein target then work in rest of my calories around that based on how I'm feeling (generally prefer carbs 😆)

toasterstrudle · 23/01/2020 19:42

(I appreciate this is coming from the woman who had a family bag of crisps for tea the other night so clearly in need of a supplement 😆)

TODAY-
B - English muffin, 2 eggs, 10g butter
L- small jacket potato, tin of tuna, salad (no butter or oil)
T - homemade chicken curry made without oils and using 0% yoghurt as thickener. Half cup of rice.

Will prob have a square of dark chocolate and 10 calorie jelly to end the day!

DontFundHate · 23/01/2020 19:42

Well done everyone.

I've banked 400 calories so far this week, so having a guilt free Chinese tomorrow eve

Tomorrow's plan (no more nakd bars for takeaway days!!)
B - skyr yog
L - leftovereek and barley 'risotto'
D - Chinese!

DontFundHate · 23/01/2020 19:43

And managed a half arsed run today

DontFundHate · 23/01/2020 19:45

I have also been feeling totally exhausted this whole week, I think I'm coming down with a cold. But this group will keep my motivation going I think

Heygirlheyboy · 23/01/2020 19:54

Ive had a good day too and just made a lovely winter veg soup for lunch tomorrow. I have a strange Friday as I don't get home until later than usual so I'll have scrambled eggs mid morning, no toast and the soup in the afternoon. I actually can't believe how downing the portion size has not increased hunger, I was clearly eating way over average portion. Only had a few spoons of rice with chilli tonight and didn't notice any loss. Here's to a good few days ahead for weigh in Mon!! Love the idea of banking the calories for a takeaway night! I have a lot in work wise next week so having that next fri would be great!

DontFundHate · 23/01/2020 20:06

We have takeaway every week here! But at least if im mindful of it during the week then it shouldn't do too much damage.

Yes I totally agree with the portion sizes. I followed a recipe for my gnocchi a few days ago, it was lovely and very filling, but all the reviews were complaining that they needed double the portion! I think society in general just serve up huge portions now so that we've lost sight of what's "normal"

DontFundHate · 23/01/2020 20:07

Although knowing that in theory is different to in practice! I definitely would have eaten double the portion too not so long ago! But I would have felt very full and sluggish afterwards

WellErrr · 23/01/2020 20:27

Ive had another average day. 1419 calories which isn’t great, my maximum is 1400. I’ve started snacking again..!

Really need to focus. I cannot put this weight back on!!

OP posts:
WellErrr · 23/01/2020 20:28

Having biscuits in the house again hasn’t helped. 300ish calories on snacks today!!

OP posts:
TheHoundsofLove · 23/01/2020 20:32

Yes, I also agree about smaller portion sizes now being quite enough. I really don’t like the feeling of being too full and sluggish any more.
I’m going to do a fast tomorrow as am finding that it helps to balance out a few treats over the weekend. Especially as my husband likes to do some cooking at the weekend and it means he can have free reign. Then I’ll do a fast day on Monday too.

TheHoundsofLove · 23/01/2020 20:36

Well I wouldn’t worry about 19 calories - it’s such a negligible amount!

MyuMe · 23/01/2020 21:13

I haven't made any progress ...lots of work events and late nights.

I wouldn't stress about 19 calories ... that is worrying if you are. Run to the end of the road and back. That's the excess 19 calories gone. Wink

Heygirlheyboy · 23/01/2020 21:13

Exactly. I just walked very briskly for 10 minutes and apparently burned 50!

WellErrr · 23/01/2020 22:19

I’m not too bothered about 19 calories - but ideally I try to come in around 1000-1200 and I’m just creeping up...!

Well done to everyone who’s had a rest day today - we need it sometimes!!

OP posts:
Suzie2021 · 24/01/2020 08:21

@toasterstrudle your breakfast sounds lovely

@WellErrr don’t worry about 19 cals

It’s my day 5 of diet today! I always break it around this time cos of weekend. Meeting my friend for coffee today at a cake shop. I’m really worried I’m going to break it and have a cake (or 2!)

Heygirlheyboy · 24/01/2020 08:39

I'm doing the same Suzie and we usually have Friday cake but last few weeks I've noticed the treat is the meet up and I havehave a skinny latte that I look forward to. Little habits will all add up! Nearing the four weeks now and starting to get to that feeling it stage!! Have a good day all.

Also, if anyone likes overnight oats, I ran out of greek yogurt last night and made it on milk, just as nice and lower cals I think (I use all full fat).

joggingon · 24/01/2020 08:42

Had 1 cheat day. Have been bang on plan other than that 1lb up so back where I started.

TheHoundsofLove · 24/01/2020 08:58

Do your clothes feel any looser jogging ?
