I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Well done @Patchworksack!

Hope the sick is over soon! @WellErrr

Hope your Daughter being sick was a one off WellErr. Well done everyone.
I'm planning to weigh in next on Monday, have been getting a bit obsessed with daily fluctuations
Yesterday had
Breakfast - Usual oat cakes and almonds
Lunch - Sandwich with 1 Babybel light, 2 slices of seeded bread
2 chocolate biscuits
Dinner - A Falafel wrap from the Kebaby shop comprising falafel, humus, salad ad chilli sauce. It was divine.

Today so far have had my usual breakfast and the same lunch just with one slice of toast cause it was a crust. Does anyone else find toast loads more satisfying that normal bread
Planning on Asda Jamaican Jerk soup and some crumble for dinner. Will have an apple this afternoon if I need a snack.

Heygirlheyboy · 22/01/2020 12:55

Octopus I envy you your ability to eat biscuits etc in moderation. One day I hope I can do that. Pigging out such a huge habit for me. Overnight oats and ratatouille with halloumi plus granny smith so far for me.

WellErrr · 22/01/2020 13:12

Thanks for the well wishes! So far so good but I’ve just given her lunch.....🤞🤞

I’m aiming for under 1000 today after the last couple of days. So far/plan:

B - actimel (27) large banana (91)
L - jacket potato with chilli and a bit of grated cheese (634!!!)
D - Lidl porridge pot (177) with raspberries (33)

So that’s 943. If I need it to keep me going mid afternoon after being up most of the night, I’ll have half a can of coke (68) which will take me up to 1011.

Back on the wagon (I hope...!)

Stuck to plan but had some bad news today so feeling very much like emotional eating. Will try not to.

Sorry to hear you've had bad news @dontfundhate

Heygirlheyboy · 22/01/2020 22:24

That's really hard. Hope you're OK.

toasterstrudle · 22/01/2020 22:36

Sorry to hear that @DontFundHate, hope you're ok.

A more nutritionally sound day from me today with L - tuna baguette (455), chicken pita bread (320) and chicken sausages with broccoli mash (359) and a few squares dark choc. An hour of yoga and a long walk with 15k steps all in. Avoided crisps for dinner so theres the main win!

Heygirlheyboy · 22/01/2020 22:41

Wow toasters!! I went 14 cals over today, first time :( My small (140g) slice of quiche was over 450 cals! Shocking! I'd usually have eaten twice that but it's amazing how I feel totally full since, definitely changing my thinking around eating.

Suzie2021 · 22/01/2020 22:42

Hope everything okay @DontFundHate.

@Patchworksack well done! That’s amazing!

Well done everyone else too x

I’m not going to weigh myself yet I just can’t. I’ve been relatively healthy and managed to do a bit of exercise today. If I can get past the dreaded day 5 I will weigh myself. Day 3 today! Goodluck everyone, hope we all reach our goals soon.

Patchworksack · 22/01/2020 22:44

14 cals is nothing - just think about your average across a week. I agree it really changes how you think about some foods when you realise how many calories is in your little snack Confused

Patchworksack · 22/01/2020 22:45

Well done suzie on 3 days done!

everycowandagain · 23/01/2020 07:04

The scales finally dropped a bit for me today, I am 9 stone 8 1/2, the lightest I have been since Christmas!! Must not celebrate too soon though, I need to stay focused.

My immediate goal is to get under 9 1/2, then before I go away at the beginning of March I want to be 9 1/2. Such a slog, but I need to stick with it.

Toying with cancelling my gym HIIT class today, I am so tired and sore from training hard and eating a deficit so I feel like I need some recovery time. Will see how the day goes.

everycowandagain · 23/01/2020 07:33

That had paragraphs when I wrote it! And I meant 9 1/4 beginning of March.

Twixes · 23/01/2020 07:53

Hello everyone! Woohoo @everycowandagain and @WellErr! I was avoiding the thread but I'm back on it now.

Things are RIDICULOUSLY slow for me. I know I'm only at it 2.5 weeks but I think I've lost 2lbs tops, despite working my arse off with spinning classes and good calorie control. The scales seems to go up and down every couple of days!

Yesterday morning I stood on the scales with no contact lenses in and when my husband told me what the reading was, I was so annoyed by what he told me I had a little rant and even stamped my foot like a toddler Blush

But I've started taking my measurements now, I use my upper arm as a gauge.

Yesterday wasn't a great one for me:

B: two bowls of Tesco protein granola. 630 cals Blush
D: fish pie and peas: 620
Snack: cocoa made with bournville, artificial sweetener and skimmed milk 155 cals

1400 calories. Not the most balanced but at least the granola filled me up for the day!

I need to keep reminding myself of treacle's mantra. In 12 weeks I should have a stone off if I keep at it, I'd be delighted if I had a stone off, that would bring me to my ideal weight 🤞🏻

Twixes · 23/01/2020 08:03

@everycowandagain I'm trying ease off a bit on the exercise as well to let my body recover.

My knee has a bit of a twinge that I don't want to get any worse, plus the muscles all down the inside thigh above that knee are insanely tight and sore that I'm sure that has something to do with it. I'm trying to massage it out but I can barely even press into the skin it's so sore!

everycowandagain · 23/01/2020 08:27

@Twixes it feels ridiculously slow here too, and such hard work, but I know I can't low carb or cut calories more so I just have to keep myself in the zone.

Sounds like we both might be in danger of over training. It's a fine line between pushing yourself and ending up in a heap!

toasterstrudle · 23/01/2020 09:20

@everycowandagain and @Twixes are you hitting your protein goal? I used the James Smith PT macro calculator and aim to eat about 92g protein a day (5'7, 138lbs and gym 3/4 times a week). I've also railed back my cardio in favour of increased steps/walks while I'm eating low cal as I dont have the energy!

DontFundHate · 23/01/2020 11:02

Thank you all x

Well done @everycowandagain I think the hardest part is when you get to / get close to target, for me anyway, keep at it and you can do it!

Well done @Twixes too, every pound is a step in the right direction, glad you've come back and started measurements, we'll all get there :) like I said one week I lost nothing at all on the scales but my measurements were much better, im sure you'll see similar with all the exercise.

Going to try to go for a run today, haven't felt like it at all this week but I factored in exercise into my daily calories so I really need to go! And I'm hoping it'll help me de-stress a bit

Today's menu
B - 2 slices small fruit loaf with small amount butter
L - leek and barley "risotto" with small amount parmesan
D - chickpea curry, 125g brown and wild rice mix

Patchworksack · 23/01/2020 11:23

How's everyone doing? I feel good the last few days - I've hit the '4 weeks and you can feel it' phase. I'm hopeful I might have dropped half a stone by next week, which is pretty good in a month. I think the not drinking is helping too - I am sleeping better and not waking up fuzzy headed. DH is finding dry January tough going - he's having a day off this weekend as he has a gin tasting booked. I need to think about renegotiating a relationship with alcohol once February hits. I do love a glass of red at the weekend, but need to find a way that it stays as one glass and not half a bottle, and doesn't have a tube of Pringles alongside it! Maybe the calories will put me off - a bottle of wine and a tube of Pringles is 1600 calories - so probably was adding 800 cals without even thinking about it Shock
