I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Hang on in there MyuMe, you can do it, so hard isn't it. Well done WellEr.
Quite a good day so far for me.
Uusal breakfast
2 slices of toasted seeded bread, one of which was a very small crust, with 2 mini Babybels.
1 small Wispa bar (1670 calories.
Having slow cooker Hawai Chicke with rice

Twixes · 16/01/2020 16:05

@WellErr i hope you don't have something coming on, but if you do get sick maybe it'll help shed a few more lbs?! Every cloud and all that Grin

A reasonable (calorie-wise) but weird food day for me so far:

B: skimmed milk coffee, small glass prune juice
11am small homemade smoothie
L: 4 pepperoni slices and loads of watermelon
Afternoon: sampled tiny bits of dinner
Plan for dinner: small plate of spaghetti Bolognese that's loaded with veg

Exercise: spinning - 45 min

I was heavier on the scales this morning which was very disheartening 😢

Patchworksack · 16/01/2020 16:34

I have the same problem @Myume. Work constantly has cake, chocolates, doughnuts etc. I go home for lunch and am making sure I have a filling lunch and take some fruit for afternoon teabreak. I am on a course tomorrow and I know the food will be beige, with cookies and biscuits at every lecture break.

MyuMe · 16/01/2020 18:51

Does anyone else find they can't lose weight unless they eat next to nothing. Meaning 1000 calories a day or so.

joggingon · 16/01/2020 19:43

I'm not losing. :(. I'm being sooo good. Do normally lose on 1600 calories. Going to grit my teeth and change nothing for a week if not then need to re assess. Am 64kg. And really wanted to hit 61.6kg 1st feb because that's what I weighed last year. Grrrr. 🤬

WellErrr · 16/01/2020 19:45

Well done Well - I'm fully expecting being below 9st to be a truly wondrous thing. Please tell me that it is!

Well I am feeling loads better about myself now! 8lbs down since Boxing Day which isn’t loads but I’m only small so it’s really made a difference. I’ve got a little further to go, but it’s definitely been worth every missed temptation or bit of hunger! Cake is nothing compared to not being self conscious about your muffin top 😂

DontFund yes I agree about measuring! Wish I’d done it but I haven’t got a tape measure!

Twixes don’t be disheartened! I get inexplicable scale readings sometimes too, but if you stick to the calories it will come off!!

Patchwork I work in that sort of job too, people are forever bringing us cakes and biscuits! I’ve had to completely abstain, just one is never an option for me :(

Does anyone else find they can't lose weight unless they eat next to nothing. Meaning 1000 calories a day or so.

Only if I’m expecting instant results, or not measuring properly.

This is the first time I’ve actually stuck to a diet to the letter. I haven’t cheated or had any days off - and it’s worked! Periods where I’ve stayed static despite constant hunger, but it’s come off in the end. I’ve been on 1400 calories a day but average about 1200. If I’ve had a ‘treat’ (today I had a mini brownie) I’ll make up for it with other things (I had 100g chicken curry for dinner).

Personally, I’ve found that I have to stick to it absolutely. For me, once I start on ‘oh I’ll start again tomorrow’ or ‘oh it’s only 100 cals extra’ or eating exercise calories, I’ve lost it.

That’s just me though, I know days off work for some people :)

How long have you been doing it jogging? What have you had today?

OP posts:
DontFundHate · 16/01/2020 20:05

Right so here's my plan for tomorrow

Quick run in the morning

Then a very strict day ahead of DP cooking a lovely meal in the eve - he won't spare the oil so I'll be very strict beforehand!

B - I like the nakd bars, like a mixture of dates and nuts etc, there are some lovely flavours, about 130kcal
L - 2 x nakd bars, 260 kcal
D - something nice made by DP. Will try to exercise portion control! But also will.enjoy it :)

TheHoundsofLove · 16/01/2020 20:20

Dont I don’t live in the UK anymore and I actually really miss Nakd bars!

WellErrr · 16/01/2020 20:34

Dont is 3 Nakd bars not going to be shedloads of sugar? Could you swap one for a banana and an apple or something?

me too @WellErr I'm pretty much an all or nothing kind of person! If you lose 10lbs will you leave the thread?! Sad

Well I stood on the scale after my class and I'm back to where I was! That's promising for me too because I'm always heavier in the evening than in the morning. Hopefully it'll be down a little more in the morning. I know better than to weigh myself obsessively but it's so hard not to have a sneaky peak...

MissEliza · 16/01/2020 21:51

I'm glad I found this thread. I'm currently 56.5 kg and want to drop to 52. It's so interesting to read about all your daily 'challenges'. Everyone around me is either not bothered about weight loss or doing something like SW which I can't fathom.

Octopus37 · 17/01/2020 07:45

Still 9st9.5 here, so up a pound from the beginning of the week after one evening off. Did ok yesterday, feel that my self-control has been quite good overall (for me) and I'm not totally struggling. Wondering if that's why I'm not getting anywhere fast cause I'm not absolutely starving every minute of the day, but not a good thought path to go down. Will try and be good over the weekend and weigh in again on Monday. Big well done to everyone else.

MyuMe · 17/01/2020 09:07

Some Nakd bars have more sugar than a bag of Maltesers.

They are about 15-20g of sugar a piece. 2 of them 30-40g of sugar.

Sorry to be bossy too but this is why I dont eat cereal bars however healthy they claim to be.

That much sugar I'd rather have chocolate GrinWink

TheHoundsofLove · 17/01/2020 09:58

It's really interesting seeing how everyone tackles weight loss differently. I think the key is just finding what works for your own body and mindset. It's really struck me when talking about 'off' days as I'm the total opposite to a lot of you - I need some days where I can relax the rules a little and I find it good practise for maintenance. After all this slogging away, there's absolutely no bloody way I'm putting any of this weight back on! Grin

Wineloffa · 17/01/2020 13:15

Hi everyone, I’m still slogging away here too, being so strict I’m boring myself to tears!!! Only one week until my birthday!! Eeek!

I’ve got a horrible cold and can hardly breathe so haven’t been spinning this week (darn!) but I’m sticking rigidly to my diet. Scared to weigh myself in case I’ve gone backwards, will save it for Monday’s weigh in.

Wineloffa · 17/01/2020 13:16

Forgot to add yesterday’s eating;

B- porridge
L- small sushi pack
D- skinny pizza from PE + salad

S- banana

beela · 17/01/2020 16:39

I did a Friday weigh in (it helps me to be sensible over the weekend Halo) and I'm down another 0.5lb, and almost back to where I was before Christmas. It feels much easier now I am in the swing of things and starting to see a difference. Looking forward to a glass of wine tonight though! Wine

toasterstrudle · 17/01/2020 17:51

Full of the cold here and feeling yuck!

Yesterday I went to the gym and food was: B- 2 eggs and english muffin (no butter/oil)
L- tuna baked potato, salad (1tbsp mayo, no oil/butter)
T- chicken curry with broccoli instead of rice
Snacks - 2 sq dark chocolate, one 10cal jelly

Today
B- 2 eggs and english muffin (no butter/oil)
L- chicken curry with 1 cup rice
T - chicken sausages and broccoli mash (no butter etc)
Snacks prob same as yesterday
Exercise - bodycombat

Patchworksack · 17/01/2020 17:56

I was proud of myself today for rising to the beige-food-conference-day challenge. I ignored the bacon sandwiches on arrival, the cookies at break, the bread and butter pudding at lunch, the afternoon muffins and the biscuits on the tables. I chose a small serving of moussaka with salad for lunch which seemed to be the healthiest option, and fruit for pudding. Still probably not great energy-balance wise given I have sat on my arse all day, but we'll call it damage limitation.

WellErrr · 17/01/2020 18:54

Well done Patchwork, that must have been so hard!!

My day has been like this:

B - actimel (27) apple (40)
L - porridge pot (177) muller corner (176)
D - Weighed out homemade chilli with loads of veg, a jacket potato and a bit of grated cheese (498)

S - Milky Way crispy rolls (128) cup of tea (20) yakult light (27)

Still got 300 left but I’m feeling full. Really hope my body doesn’t go into starvation mode, I’m terrified of putting it all back on as soon as I have a normal 2000cal day!

toaster hope you’re feeling better soon!

Uh oh you're all very right about the nakd bars, I'd never thought of the sugar in them as there's no "added sugar"... It's certainly made me think twice about them

Patchworksack · 17/01/2020 19:07

Making up for my restraint earlier by having steak for dinner! Will skip the chips though and have veg instead.

Octopus37 · 17/01/2020 19:08

Wow Patchwork, well done, sounds like you fought a lot of temptation.
Today -
Breakfast - Usual oatckakes plus almonds
Lunch - 2 slices of seeded bread with 2 ,mini babybels
Dinner - Asda Chinese Chicken Noodle soup
Some left over fruit crumble
