I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

@Twixes how many calories are you aiming for a day?

PlanetoftheWood · 14/01/2020 20:43

@jelly79 thanks that's really speeded things up. You can only add recipes from certain websites is that right?

Patchworksack · 14/01/2020 21:04

@jelly79 - yes I think so. We eat dinner quite early with the children - 6pm ish. My downfall has been eating a "third meal" consisting of Pringles and ice cream in the evening! By the time I've wrangled everyone into bed it's 8pm and 16:8 gives me no further chance to scoff. I'm not really hungry if I've had a decent evening meal - it is just habit and feeling like I should 'reward' myself with food.

DontFundHate · 14/01/2020 21:21

@WellErrr the food medic on Instagram does a lunch club thing on Sundays where she videos and preps her lunch for the week, ive made lots of her recipes and all very nice

I agree a food window is very helpful, if you know you don't eat past say 7pm then there's much less temptation. I usually do about a 14:10 and have done for a long time, purely because I go to bed early but can't eat as soon as I wake!

jelly79 · 14/01/2020 21:25

@Suzie567 yeah it's so easy to use up left over roast chicken and does a few lunches. Really filling too!

@Patchworksack mindless TV grazing has always been a battle for me. May try a 8:30 curfew (some night I have tea late because of work and baby bedtime)

@PlanetoftheWood I don't import really just enter manually which is so easy. I'll have a play round with it though

This thread is great!

marking place

Canklesforankles · 14/01/2020 21:51

Wellerr I really struggle with my work canteen too.

I try to go for an egg salad or the soup (no bread) which is homemade and the bowls are quite small and a muller corner fruit yoghurt. I can usually manage if I plan a snack like an apple in the afternoon about 4.

If I decide to go for a small portion of the hot food the canteen staff always give a massive portion which is big enough for two people.

Same!! It was cottage pie and I stressed a VERY SMALL portion with extra veg. What I got would have fed my whole family almost! I had to just tip all the mash and half the mince off as soon as I was out of sight.
It’s absolutely gorgeous food too which doesn’t help.

Going to take porridge in tomorrow and leave my money behind!

@WellErrr I usually have soup for lunch when I'm at work. Homemade if I've been organised, or the sort from the chiller at the supermarket if I haven't. Reheat in the microwave.

Even if you are greedy like me eat the whole pot, lots of them come in at under 400 calories and are really filling.

beela · 14/01/2020 22:09

I wish we had a canteen, we just have a Starbucks Sad

jelly79 · 14/01/2020 23:30

@WellErrr sounds the same as my canteen! I do a lot of batch cooking, freeze them in portions and take one out in the morning for work!

Veg / lentil bake is my favourite at the moment
Chicken fajitas with a salad
Chorizo and bean stew
Pea and ham soup
Chicken and barley soup
Frittatas

Or I enjoy ryvitas with ham, salad and coleslaw. Or tuna, sweetcorn and mayo

Getting in to the habit of batch cooking has been good for me x

WellErrr · 15/01/2020 06:15

I think I need to do that jelly! What do you freeze them in?

jelly79 · 15/01/2020 06:40

@WellErrr the little tin (like take away) tubs with the cardboard lid! Just pop them out in to a plastic tub to warm. Probably better in plastic Tupperware but they are a good size so have always used them :)

Twixes · 15/01/2020 07:09

@Suzie567 yesterday wasn't a great day for me so don't take it as indicative of a normal day! I think I had about 1600 yesterday but I did a 400 calorie spin class and a weights session. I normally aim for 1300 on exercise days and 1100-1200 on non exercise days Smile I'm 5'0

joggingon · 15/01/2020 07:17

I'm late but hope I can join? 63.6kg. Want to be 59kg. (A smidgen over 19 stone - a bit under 9 1/2).

joggingon · 15/01/2020 07:22

Typo. Just over 10 stone.
Calorie counting. MFP. 1600. Aim for minimum of 140g of protein. Weight lifting 5 X week.

WellErrr · 15/01/2020 07:28

Welcome jogging!

@Patchworksack excellent work lovely!!!

Welcome @joggingon 👊

TheHoundsofLove · 15/01/2020 17:49

Well done Patchwork !
And welcome jogging . I'm a bit jealous of your weightlifting as am currently having to take a break due to a really stiff neck and shoulders. I have started doing some yoga instead though.
Non fast day for me today, so nothing very inspiring to report. I did go for a 12km run though.

Bobbi73 · 15/01/2020 18:08

I just threw the kids leftover pizza in the bin instead of eating it!
I'm down 5lbs since the 1st of Jan.
I'm doing slimming world which really helps as I work well with accountability. I haven't been hungry since I started (back in October) and some of the food is great. Many of the recipes will be part of my normal diet.
Today
B. Fat free yoghurt with blueberries
L. Lentil soup with one slice of toast
D. Oven baked Salmon with stir fry vegetables. Muller light yoghurt.
Snacks. Tea with 2 biscuits, Apple, satsuma, carrot sticks and houmous.

Although I'm doing Slimming world, I'm kind of sticking to the NHS diet which is about 1400-1500 calories a day with exercise and I'm steadily losing 1-2 pounds a week. I'm hoping to get to 9.4 but anything under 10 stone will be great.
We'll done everyone. It's hard work but it will be worth it in the end 😀
