I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Well done the hounds. Isn't it great when you can get into an item of clothing? Nothing beats that feeling imho.

I'm getting back on top of things and bought a smart watch with step counter for myself for Christmas.

Yesterday was:

salad from Boots plus packet of Sunbites.
small glass wine.
half a tapas slate.
Crunchie. Blush

I cope better on work days.

Wineloffa · 11/01/2020 09:41

Well done Hounds! What brilliant motivation! It’s what makes it all worth it. I plan on buying myself a new pair of jeans when I reach my target weight which will hopefully show off my smaller bum (well I hope it will be smaller!!). Lots of people in my spin class complain about getting a sore bum from the seat of the bike and have bought padded shorts. It doesn’t bother me a jot due having plenty of natural padding Grin

Twixes · 11/01/2020 13:22

Wow Hounds that's great! Well done 👍🏻

I'd a bad night last night with my two year old, the poor little thing had a vomiting bug so I was up until after 3 with her. By the time it got to 1.30am I had to eat more brown bread! I was starving. So between that and the frangiapane I went over and I also missed my spin class because I was too knackered to get up.

But on the upside I'm down another 1/4 of a lb!

So far today I've had a milky coffee, I've now switched to skimmed milk.
Two slices of brown bread with smoked salmon and capers and some comte cheese.

For dinner the plan is homemade pad Thai with loads of Thai carrot salad on the side

Octopus37 · 11/01/2020 14:55

Well done Hounds. Twixes, hope your Son feels better soon. Yesterday had a good day.
Breakfast - Oat cakes and flaked almonds
Lunch - Broccoli and Stilton Soup
Snack = Galaxy bar (standard size)
Dinner - Slimming World Spicy Sausage Pasta ready meal

Today hasn't been as good
Breakfast - Same
Lunch - Small slice of Banoffee pie in a coffee shop when I was shopping
Have also just finished off the rest of a pack of Graze Sea Salt & Pepper nuts etc, was probably about one third of the bag left
Going out for belated drinks tonight. Planning on drinking gin as less calories.
Not doing very well on the weight loss front, but I do feel more in control around food overall.

toasterstrudle · 11/01/2020 20:00

Well done Hounds!! Twixes no sleep is savage, my two are currently going through a sleeping well stage and what a difference it makes! Itll derail again in no time I'm sure..

Today I keep thinking that since I've been dieting 2 weeks I should be supermodel thin by now and am disappointed everytime I catch a glimpse of my stomach. Madness! Need to play the long game. I've lost 6lbs already which is really not bad going, need to remember this!!

B - 2 eggs and an english muffin (no butter/spread)
L- tuna baked potato and salad, no oil or butter and 1 tbsp low fat mayo
T - beans on toast (2 slices toast, can of beans, no butter)
Ex - run on week 3 of couch to 5k

checkedcloth · 11/01/2020 21:03

Well done Hounds.

I’m feeling despondent. I’ve lost 1lb since the 1st of Jan. I’ve cut out all sweets / crisps / snacks / fizzy drinks and booze.

I think it’s because I’m still eating carbs though.

So today I’ve had :

2 wheatabix
Ham salad sandwich
Chicken fajitas

That’s too many carbs isn’t it?

WellErrr · 11/01/2020 21:48

Well done to all the losers!!

I’ve had a good day, 1160cals. It’s easier on long shifts actually as I just don’t have much chance to eat!

B - actimel, an apple and a live yogurt
L - wholewheat pasta with tuna, tomato and veg sauce and salad
D - porridge

S - yakult, one custard cream

checked that is quite a lot of carbs. I’d lose the bread and cereal I think? Otherwise they’re not unhealthy foods at least!

Today I keep thinking that since I've been dieting 2 weeks I should be supermodel thin by now and am disappointed everytime I catch a glimpse of my stomach. Madness!

This is also currently me 😂

@checkedcloth that is quite a lot of carbs. Are you logging your calories on MFP or another calorie counting app? It really helps to keep you on track.

Today I’ve eaten:
B- smoked salmon and scrambled eggs
L- low fat hummus and rice cakes
D- goats cheese, beetroot & walnut salad

S- apple, packet of crisps

Drinks- a coffee, 2 litres water, 2 mint teas

I also had a bottle of non alcoholic beer which brought my calorie total in slightly over but it was better than drinking real beer or wine.

Twixes · 11/01/2020 23:12

Wineloffa i envy your resolve, you're so strict! Your meal plans are very inspiring.

I'm only properly dieting 6 days and also expecting big things, I need a serious reality check! It's a 12 week plan I'm doing so realistically a lb a week would be spot on.

Today I ate as posted below but I caved and ate some dark chocolate ice cream which tipped me over my daily allowance yet again.

Another weekend of dry Jan down, boom!

Patchworksack · 11/01/2020 23:18

Still sticking to the 16:8, still struggling with the evenings! I know I don't need anything to eat at that point having had a good dinner, I just associate relaxing with a glass of wine and crisps/chocolate/ice cream.
L: small amount bacon, beans, tomato, scrambled egg + an apple.
D: homemade chicken bhuna with peppers, tomato, spinach, small portion rice, but resisted the poppadoms and naan.
checkedcloth if you are anything like me, I think the snacking is what makes me gradually gain weight, and cutting it out probably stabilises you but not enough to put you into much of a deficit. I love carbs but I am realising they don't love me and I feel better for eating less beige. Maybe swap the sandwich for a ham salad, you could have loads of salad veg for the same calories as two slices of bread. I'm trying to have the same as my family because I can't be arsed cooking two things, but swap out some carbs for more veg. And 1lb off is in the right direction!
I am definitely also in the 'should be a supermodel by now' camp! I think the truth is that particularly once you hit your 40s you need to be in it for the long haul.

checkedcloth · 12/01/2020 09:19

Thanks all. As I guessed about the carbs.

I’m not tracking anywhere as I just don’t have the time really (NHS nurse - work is all consuming over winter).

So had 2 eggs this morning for breakfast. Having a roast for lunch but I’ll have no spuds.

Happy Sunday all

Wineloffa · 12/01/2020 11:56

@Twixes I am strict but it’s the only thing that works for me - it’s all or nothing! I only have 2 weeks of strictness until my birthday, by which time I hope to have my target weight. Either way I’m taking 3 days off to celebrate, drink champagne and eat nice food. Then I’ll be back on it after that! The thoughts of drinking champagne in my new (smaller) jeans is what’s keeping me going! Smile

checkedcloth · 12/01/2020 13:35

It’s great to have something to aim for isn’t it. We have a few days in Norfolk at half term - I see myself drinking champagne in our cottage, feeling slim Smile

DontFundHate · 12/01/2020 15:15

Hi! Can I be your fwends please?

I'm currently 10st 1, have lost 3lb since new year. Want to be about 9st. I'm also measuring my waist as my BMI is fine at about 22 but my waist was 86cm when I started, down to 82cm now so that's much better already but want to get it safely below the 80 cut off for health reasons.

I seriously need to stay at a healthy weight and waist size for health reasons, at the moment I'm fine but without going into any outing details I really need to look after my body now as I will have some serious, life threatening conditions if I don't. however my main thoughts are always about how I look! Which isn't always super motivating as I don't look awful as I am, however I look much better a stone lighter. I think my health should motivate me more but for whatever reason it doesn't. I think until I started measuring my waist I was very complacent with a fine BMI. Hmm anyway I'm rambling, basically I just wish I cared more about my health Confused

Anyway I promise to be more positive next time! Hello everyone Smile

Octopus37 · 12/01/2020 20:05

Well done on your loss so far. Know what you mean about the health thing, I have got slightly high cholesterol (could be the medication I was on, not sure), but tbh its more about how I look. My BMI is a bit higher than yours I think, 22. something/ I look ok if I'm wearing the right clothes, but think I might be kidding myself. I''m with you though, know it should be more about health. Onwards and downwards.

WellErrr · 12/01/2020 20:53

I’m not tracking anywhere as I just don’t have the time really (NHS nurse - work is all consuming over winter).

I work long NHS shifts but my job is a bit outing for anyone who might know me..!
I’m finding calorie tracking really REALLY helpful via an app and it only takes seconds after each meal. Give it a try!!

OP posts:
WellErrr · 12/01/2020 21:02

I’ve not had a bad day. 1150cals.
I’m finding it actually quite easy now I’m a couple of weeks in..! Not seeing much of a loss but I seem to have quite bad swelling after my op, so hopefully when that goes down the weight loss will be evident.

I’ve gone from around 3500-5000 calories a day to 900-1400 so that’s got to have an impact if I do it for long enough SURELY!? Grin

SURELY!?

Twixes · 12/01/2020 21:26

DontFundHate hello and welcome!

WellErr YES! It will definitely pay off, it just takes a while to see results. You've been so disciplined 💪🏻

Today wasn't amazing for me, I had absolutely no breakfast or lunch but ate out mid afternoon and I had a starter and main course of pizza Blush. The only saving grace is that I only ate 3/4s and I've only eaten a few mouthfuls of Greek yoghurt since. I think I had about 1400 calories?

Weigh in tomorrow, dun dun dun!

Patchworksack · 12/01/2020 22:14

Not a great day today - good on the exercise front, long dog walk so 16k steps - not so good on the food.
L tomato soup + cheese toastie
D should have been great, DH made veggie chilli, however he put so much chipotle in I literally couldn't eat it, and at the end of the week the cupboards are a bit devoid of other options and I sucuumbed to the red velvet cake my son baked today. 😔 Probably not too bad calories wise since I didn't have any dinner but not exactly nutritious.

Wineloffa · 12/01/2020 22:40

@WellErrr keep going! It will be worth it in the end! Welcome @DontFundHate

Today I ate;
B - porridge and blueberries
L- low fat hummus and rice cakes
D - roast chicken dinner (small portion, no potatoes, lots of veg)

Snacks- apple, banana, muller lite

Exercise, yoga, long dog walk, spin class,

Food calories were 1250 today and I resisted eating my exercise calories.

Meet back here tomorrow for our weigh in!

WellErrr · 13/01/2020 06:49

I’ve weighed in! 8st12.3lbs.

So a loss of.......half a pound 🤦🏻‍♀️😂😭

And still a big fat swollen distended tummy which isn’t going anywhere.

But I’ll keep plodding on! Good luck everyone for the weigh in!

OP posts:
Octopus37 · 13/01/2020 07:13

WellEr that's great, that's about my target weight. Weighed in at 9st8.5 this morning, pleased that I have broken into another pound bracket. Think realistically that it might take me until Summer to get into the 8 stones but I've accepted that I loose slowly now. Keeping going

Wineloffa · 13/01/2020 07:19

Well done Octopus and WellErrr on your losses.

I’m now 9st 1, down from 9st 6 on New Years Day so happy with the progress.

Maybe I will see the 8s on the scales for my birthday after all. Fingers crossed.

toasterstrudle · 13/01/2020 07:59

Got my period yesterday so thinking this weight isnt overly accurate but logging in anyway! Today I am 139.8lbs although on Saturday I was 138.1 and have been consistently under calories by a fair amount. Will see what next week brings!

Weight on 28/12 was 145.6lbs
Weight on 6/1 was 139.4lbs
Weight on 13/1 is 139.8lbs

Lowest weight recorded in diet period 138.1.

TheHoundsofLove · 13/01/2020 08:18

Well done everyone - it seems like we're all in the swing of things now!
I had a very lovely, social but food and drink filled weekend, so am kicking off the week with a fast day today. Let's do this!
