I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Everyone seems to be doing so well! I think I'm sticking to my 1200 calories and I haven't felt hungry, though today I've felt so tearful and unhappy. I looked at my tummy and felt sick with myself! I really hope I have some kind of change on the scale on Monday to make me feel a bit better!

So far today I've had a brunch of tomatoes, mushrooms, a poached egg, 2 bacon medallions and 2 heck chicken sausages. So lots of food for relatively few calories. Not feeling hungry as yet so probably only a small portion of the mixed chicken and beef fajitas I'm making for my lot this evening

Patchworksack · 09/01/2020 17:16

Your brunch sounds yummy, restless
I am looking forward to my dinner, I'm making Thai green salmon from the Good Food magazine and prepping everything is making my mouth water!

Wineloffa · 09/01/2020 20:14

Today I ate;

B- 2 boiled eggs
L- salmon sushi
D- Homemade Italian vegetable cottage pie

Snacks - banana, pineapple sticks, 2 squares dark choc

Drinks - 2 coffees, 2 litres water, a mint tea

I must admit today was a bit of a struggle! My period is due and I was feeling hungry and grumpy. I would have killed for a large glass of wine but took it out on my spin bike at the gym instead!

Twixes · 09/01/2020 20:49

Argh, food revision for me today! Turned out to be:

B: milky coffee
Mid morning: 2 boiled eggs
Lunch: homemade soup
And then things went downhill...
A friend called in with muffins she'd baked so I had to eat one or else I would've been rude. Then for dinner I ended up eating an enormous plate of carbonara which tipped me over my daily allowance.

I did however manage a spin class so all is not lost. Fingers crossed I'm still on track 🤞🏻

TheHoundsofLove · 09/01/2020 20:56

It would have definitely been rude Twixes ! You did the right thing! Wink
I’ve done my second fast day today - was a bit of a struggle and I was in such a bad mood this afternoon. I really enjoyed my dinner though - a feta cheese and chive omelette. I hope that everyone else has had a decent day.

jelly79 · 09/01/2020 21:50

B - 2 weetabix and milk, seeded toast and PB
L - tomato pasta, 1/2 avocado, boiled egg
T - roast chicken, salad, cous cous
Snacks - 5 chocolates

Ex - 10k run

100 calories over but burnt 760 running 👊

OverByYer · 09/01/2020 22:17

Still nothing shifting so getting despondent now

B - granola and Skyr
L - leftover risotto
D salmon, JP and stir fry

Snack 3 digestives

Ex ran 6 miles which brought me well under my calorie intake for today

HippoHips · 09/01/2020 23:09

If it helps OverByYer I’m in exactly the same boat. Desperately trying to stick to my calorie limit, keeping food diary, no booze, decent exercise... yet haven’t shifted a flipping ounce!! My metabolism is clearly in a food deprived sulk and can’t be arsed to do anything x

Twixes · 09/01/2020 23:19

Very little happening with me too, a quarter pound FFS! Must persevere. Must persevere. Calories in, calories out.

jelly79 · 10/01/2020 06:39

@Restlessinthenorth sending you some love! Be kind to yourself too 😊

@WellErrrthe adding in home cooked recipes on my fitness pal is so easy - you can type in manually or add from the web and then portion it up. They are saved there then to use again. I find this really useful

Weekends are difficult to stay on track as I eat out a lot (not drinking) so go a couple of classes and a run planned...will make the better choices from the menu too!!!

toasterstrudle · 10/01/2020 07:03

@Twixes dont feel bad, you def had to have one, so would I! I went hugely off plan on Tues when I was round at a friend's for dinner too, just had to get back on it the next day.

Yesterday -

B - 2 eggs and slice of dry toast (fun!)
L - tuna mayo sandwich with salad
T - chicken sausages and broccoli mash
Ex - none (rest day) but did 10k steps

Restlessinthenorth · 10/01/2020 07:09

Thanks for the support guys! Ruined things a bit by eating 2 Oreos last night, but today's a new day and all that.

I'm expecting the weekend to be challenging as there are always treats around for the kids, but the thought of getting on those scales on Monday is helping to focus me

beela · 10/01/2020 07:20

Went for a mid-week weigh and the scales haven't moved here either Sad so I'm feeling a bit despondent about that.

Still, hopefully that will spur me on to have a good weekend ready for Monday weigh in.

Octopus37 · 10/01/2020 08:20

Morning, well done to everyone and I sympathies to those others who aren't loosing. I ate quite a bit of chocolate yesterday and then went out for a carvery in the evening and had a pint of cider. I feel ok though and I am back on plan today. Will weigh in again on Monday. Hope everyone has a good day

TheHoundsofLove · 10/01/2020 08:43

Keep going everyone! It's hard when you're slogging away and the scales aren't moving. I also find weekends tricky and try to deal with it by keeping to 16:8 and doing my long run on a Sunday morning.
I'm out for lunch today, so glad that I did my fast yesterday. I expected to be starving this morning, but am weirdly not really hungry...

footchewer · 10/01/2020 10:41

Good to keep up with everyone's story; hope @Octopus37 's birthday was good and you managed to get a nice meal out with a recovered DC!

I seem to be one of the lucky ones as I've shifted 3.5lbs this week (one of the sharpest drops I've had for a year and I've been watching my weight like a hawk except for over Xmas obvs. It means I've dropped below the magic BMI 24.9 number which makes me officially healthy again my story and I'm sticking to it.

Not sure how the weekend is going to go though. We're invited to a big meal at my DP's boss's place tomorrow. I think they're not big drinkers and I'm going to get grilled on every subject under the sun so at least it'll mean I don't lay into the wine until we get home.

I know 3.5lbs isn't sustainable so I'm expecting a (much) less impressive week next week for me.

Hope others start seeing the results they're hoping for too, it always comes when you're just about to give up hope!

Twixes · 10/01/2020 11:31

I think I might be down another 1/4 lb, despite the 1000 calorie dinner last night!

Plan for today:

B: milky coffee
Mid morning: I ate a Bakewell 😣
L: homemade soup
D: lamb and small portion of potatoes

Official weigh in on Monday which will keep me on the track over the weekend 💪🏻

Restlessinthenorth · 10/01/2020 15:51

Keep plugging away everyone!

I met a friend for breakfast at Frankie and Bennies....had a muffin with avo and 2 poached eggs. The menu says it's an under 500cal option. Dinner is chicken casserole and veg. I've promised the kids a movie night after a brilliant week at school. We've bought loads of sweets on the way home. I'm going to have a handful as I'd be kidding myself to say I would have none, so hopefully portion control is key! Planning on a big walk in the morning if the weather is ok to offset it a bit

I hope everyone is looking forwards to a lovely weekend

Designerenvy · 10/01/2020 21:25

Not too bad diet wise today but I'm now on my 2nd glass of wine Wine, it is Friday after all Wink. Probably not my best idea cos I need to weigh myself in the morning . ..

Wineloffa · 10/01/2020 21:56

My day was ok. Managed to keep my calories on target and did a spin class this evening which brought me in under. Friday night without wine is always tough so consoled myself with a non-alcoholic beer which was passable.

Today I ate:
B- boiled egg and wheaten bread
L- small portion of veggie cottage pie (left over from last night)
D- veggie/bean fajita wrap

Snack - apple

Patchworksack · 10/01/2020 22:52

Well done everyone! I had an ok day today - was starving by lunchtime and had rocket/watercress, spelt and tuna and an orange. DH cooking again tonight - big heap chilli and rice but I just had the chilli. Still finding evenings difficult even though I've just had a decent meal. I need to break the association between relaxing and guzzling. Rubbish step count as I've been at work which only nets about 5k steps, I easily do 15k when I'm not working.

jelly79 · 10/01/2020 23:02

I calorie budgeted today in prep for eating out tonight. There was no healthy option and I just went all in! I'm 800 calories over. 2 classes tomorrow and damage limitation for the rest of the weekend.

To be fair I normally wouldn't of tracked that and pressed the 'fuck it switch' all weekend

This thread is helping x

WellErrr · 10/01/2020 23:09

Just checking in, just got off a manic shift. Only 900cals today as just too busy! Will catch up properly tomorrow.

Bit of a foodie day today...period stated.
B: apricot wheats
L: Cream of Celery soup & Walnuts & rye bread
D: Chicken, feta, walnut, couscous salad
Snacks: an Orange, jelly beans, crisps & snickers Blush

Very tired due to not getting to sleep and period, so only exercise was walking the dog x 2.

TheHoundsofLove · 11/01/2020 08:58

Well done for keeping going everyone!
I thought I’d blown it yesterday as had 2 meals out, one of which included pizza, wine and chocolate brownies, but am amazed to have weighed myself this morning and I’ve lost 5lbs this week! And I’m just about to go out wearing a size 10 leather jacket, that hasn’t fit for about a decade...and it does up! Grin
