Strawb it was because people were trying to shorten the name in a friendly fashion, but somehow "Crotch" felt a bit...erm...

Thanks for the warm welcome, my ole carb lovin chums!

I started induction yesterday and have lost 2lbs but know most of this is water. I do think you lose less weight with every attempt at cutting carbs, but it still works better for me than any other way of eating.

Diet yesterday -

no breakfast (naughty)
lunch - tinned salmon with salad

dinner - roast pork
no gravy
a little roasted onion
broccoli - tons
small amount of carrots

Also exercising 3 times a week for just half an hour - but I've been doing this since February - lost a lot of inches but not much weight, and seem to have hit a plataeu

Seems lovely and comforting to see some familiar people on here - and the new!

sally you are giving me lots of ideas for Things That I Could Possibly Eat.

sort of had it in my head to break my diet yesterday, but somehow we had nothing in the house that seemed worthy of it. until i found a rogue bar of green and black's white vanilla chocolate. had three teeny tiny squares. first chocolate for 8 weeks, and this morning 3lbs down! very crazy and confusing, suspect i will pay for the chocolate at a later date.

a bit motivated again now and thinking i might do a couple of weeks back on strict induction - what's everyone's top tips for making it bearable?

oggsfrog · 20/09/2007 10:55

I'm lurking at the moment as I've got an awful cold and chest infection.
Consequently I'm sticking to the old adage of "feed a cold" , and I'm also a shoo in for Gold Medal in the hitherto unknown Extreme Sport of "Speed Carbing". I'm currently working on the world record for dunking and eating a whole packet of hob nobs in under 5 mins
Actually there is no end to my sick bed talents as I'm also doing a very good physical impersonation of the pilsbury dough boy

emotionalwreck · 20/09/2007 21:05

KNow where you're coming from Froggy - we talked about chocolate so much today (at work) that someone asked me if I had been the original cadbury's caramel bunny.....

Mmmmmm

p.s. just having a low carb small glass of wine

Mazzy I find the motivation bit in induction comes from grimly starting it and then after three days thinking well I can't waste all that effort and start cheating. Also you stop feeling hungry and that helps. But by and large it's not a period of gourmet delight...

I'm struggling a bit today and starting to wonder whether my usual low carb wraps that I get for lunch are actually low carb any more - they seem different. Might have to abandon that and get a work canteen (sorry "staff restaurant") omlette instead which is a pain as you have to go to a different building. Ah well...

Or you could try the three day meat thing which Because I'm Worth It talks about on this thread somewhere round the end of August/early Sept. That would be shorter and sharper?

Can someone start a new thread? I'm not ready to take on that responsibility...

Katisha · 20/09/2007 22:33

BTW Frog sorry you are feeling rotten.
