Hi all I started today. Have around 2 stone to lose before my wedding in Feb. Have been trying to low kcal but its just not shifting.

Had a shake this morning but HATE the disgusting after taste!! Has anybody noticed this and what's the best way around it? Will I need a ton of chewing gum??! Grin

whatthewhatthewhat · 23/09/2019 10:36

Welcome @boredboredboredboredbored what plan are you on?

OP posts:
feellikezerobucks · 23/09/2019 10:39

@Elzbells and @boredboredboredboredbored welcome and good luck!

@boredboredboredboredbored what shake was it? Tbh I've not noticed an after taste but have been having chewing gum to help my bad breath due to lack of food!

Another random question to all....when I've previously done this plan I've been to the toilet very frequently (I even had some near misses at times! 🤦🏼‍♀️😢) but this time round it seems to be opposite....any suggestions???

Thanks all!

boredboredboredboredbored · 23/09/2019 10:41

Hi and thanks. I'm doing Exante & it was the strawberry milkshake. Taste like sweetener I suspect. I bought a two week trial pack, the peanut butter bar went straight in the bin 🤮 what's your favourites?

whatthewhatthewhat · 23/09/2019 11:11

I like cookies and cream bar, mint choc cookie and the India pot noodle and the porridge's are nice.

Don't bother with the shakes, doesn't feel like I've eaten! Lol

boredboredboredboredbored · 23/09/2019 12:02

Thank you...I've just tried the curry and rice sachet. It went in the bin, rancid!!! Oh dear I reallllly need to find a product I like 😳 I may do x2 exante products a day then a 400kcal high protein meal.

Do any of you mix it up a bit?

feellikezerobucks · 23/09/2019 12:58

@boredboredboredboredbored I like the orange and choc, mint and choc and lemon bars and shakes and the strawberry yogurt and choc caramel bars.

Hope you find something you like soon x

I'm feeling rather tired and emotional today as I'm still not well and could murder and cheesy chip sandwich with mayo 🤦🏼‍♀️

breakfastpizza · 23/09/2019 13:13

Great losses, Team VLCD! And more importantly, well done for getting through week one.

Newbies, welcome! You've got this.

My results so far:

Week 1: 5 lbs
Week 2: 3 lbs

Despite being fairly tall and relatively active, I've always been a slow loser so I'm happy with 3 lbs this week. And yes, the toast was worth every bite!!

whatthewhatthewhat · 23/09/2019 13:37

I've just eaten some cheese... hey, at least it's low carb!

OP posts:
Sparrowlegs248 · 23/09/2019 14:58

Mmm cheese. (There a theme developing here.......)

I've had a shake for breakfast, and a bit of fruit (1/3 banana that my littlest one left, few strawbs) decking an omelette at my mum's as wasn't that hungry. Regretting it now! Will have a shake after school run and my meal later, salmon and veg I think.

Sparrowlegs248 · 23/09/2019 20:32

@whatthewhatthewhat 6lbs off AND you had peanut butter?? That's pretty impressive!!

@feellikezerobucks I've had the toilet issue too but thankfully my plan comes with a daily supplement to keeps things moving!! A sausage and egg mcmuffin always works well too! Grin

@boredboredboredboredbored I'm doing isa genix. I can't say I'm loving the shakes, or the bars tbh, but they cost me a bloody fortune so I'm sticking with it! I have 2 shakes a day and a 4-600 cal meal. I've just had salmon with garlicy spinach and cous cous , it was fricken amazing!!

feellikezerobucks · 23/09/2019 21:06

I've struggled abit today, think it's the change in weather, still feeling off it and being tired....I caved and had a packet of snack a jacks....not the end of the world but trying to stick to it....

Hope everyone's had a great day 🤗

boredboredboredboredbored · 23/09/2019 21:27

Nottalotta does that put you into Ketosis? I must admit the saccharin taste/smell makes me gag. I've got through the day fairly well though, had chicken and broccoli for my 200kcal.

I'm thinking of doing 2 sachets/bars per day rather than the 3 and having a larger meal like you. I just want to get through week 1 and see how my loss is first.

whatthewhatthewhat · 23/09/2019 21:59

@feellikezerobucks I had some chicken as well 🤣 must be week two fatigue setting in! I figure as long as I kinda stick to it and stay under 1200/1000 kcals the weight will still come off (not as fast, but if it gets you through the day without diving into wine and chips, then it's ok?) 🤣🤣🤣

OP posts:
Sparrowlegs248 · 23/09/2019 22:03

@boredboredboredboredbored I'm.not sure tbh, although I wouldn't be surprised. It is high protein. There's no "instructions" on what the meal should contain though I tend to avoid pasta, potatos etc anyway. (Had couscous tonight but that's a rarity for me).

boredboredboredboredbored · 24/09/2019 09:01

How do you all cope with the not eating? I could've easily stuffed down ds left over toast this morning but it went straight in the bin!

Once in ketosis does hunger lessen and you don't miss actually having much of a meal?

whatthewhatthewhat · 24/09/2019 09:06

@boredboredboredboredbored just eat a bit to ease yourself into it (once you're in ketosis you're really not hungry)

Just have 200 kcals or ham or cheese or peanut butter (all low carb) to nibble on when you need it (raw mushrooms sprinkled in salt are good)

OP posts:
Sparrowlegs248 · 24/09/2019 10:07

@boredboredboredboredbored I can't ease into it, if I start having little extra snacks I'll never get to doing it "properly" iyswim. So I just go straight in at the deep end and suffer for a fee days!

It's not even that I feel hungry as such, but that I have an eating habit, so it's breaking that habit. I plan my snacks and drinks so I have something every couple of hours and have a fizzy pop if desperate!

boredboredboredboredbored · 24/09/2019 10:47

@Nottalotta @whatthewhatthewhat Thanks both for the advice. I guess it's what works for you...I just miss stuffing my face but that's how I got fat I guess 😳😆

Had one shake so far this morning, feeling fine no hunger pangs at all yet. It's tricky for me to drink the required amount at work as I'm a Community Nurse and don't like using patients toilets 😳

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/09/2019 12:14

@whatthewhatthewhat
I am struggling today!! Good God. And I've got to have my lunch now so it'll be a long afternoon!

breakfastpizza · 24/09/2019 12:44

@boredboredboredboredbored It does get easier. Some people say once you get past day 4 or 5 - for me it was closer to a full week.

Don't get me wrong, I'd still love to dive headfirst into a pizza (and cheesy bread. And sides). But it isn't that obsessive thinking that you usually have on a diet. It's SO worth it, so hang in there. Smile

whatthewhatthewhat · 24/09/2019 12:51

@Nottalotta it's hard.
If you eat today you'll be back over the stone mark and you'll just feel like shit. It's not worth it. Stay strong. You've got this!

OP posts:
Sparrowlegs248 · 24/09/2019 12:59

@whatthewhatthewhat thanks, I've had my lunch, the actual food meal if the day. I've got an appointment in a minute so hopefully that will keep me occupied!

whatthewhatthewhat · 24/09/2019 13:35

@Nottalotta if all else fails, eat a lump of cheese! Low carb, high protein

OP posts:
whatthewhatthewhat · 24/09/2019 16:55

Anyone else feel a bit hyper and 'on edge'?
