Please can I join? I started the Cambridge Diet today. Had a really good meeting yesterday with my consultant and feeling positive. I've done most diets before (WW, SW, low carb) and start well and then lose my motivation so I'm hoping some quick results will help. It also seems like it'll be simple to follow, if a bit boring and difficult at times. I'm growing out of my clothes again and need to take action!

I'm also going to miss eating out and drinking wine but really need to cut that back anyway!

feellikezerobucks · 08/10/2019 12:14

@whatthewhatthewhat how are you doing today??

Think I had a day like you yesterday (inhaled a pack of biscuits) but focussed today.
Come on, we've got this 💪🏼

boredboredboredboredbored · 08/10/2019 16:51

@zobalina77 Well done. Isn't it fab when you wake up the next day feeling strong instead of shit!

@Winecheesesleep Welcome to you. Is Cambridge completely shakes with no food at all?

I've had a good day again today 3 shakes and have chicken kebabs in the oven. Got 6 days off now so it'll be tougher. Going to run as much as I can 👍🏻

Winecheesesleep · 08/10/2019 16:56

@boredboredboredboredbored it's 3 of their products a day plus one 200 calorie meal. Day 1 is going well so far, I've had 2 shakes and a peanut chocolate bar and they were actually quite nice. I reckon I'll be pretty hungry after my 200 calorie dinner though!

zobalina77 · 08/10/2019 17:00

Hi @Winecheesesleep glad your first day is going well

boredboredboredboredbored · 08/10/2019 17:15

@Winecheesesleep Thats the same as Exante then. I am on week 3 and honestly I rarely get hungry. I am not in ketosis though as i do it carbs in my 200kcal. I also havent had a perfect week yet. I am losing though and it makes it a little more manageable to have a meal out at the weekend.

feellikezerobucks · 09/10/2019 10:13

@whatthewhatthewhat how are you getting on??

I stuck to plan yesterday (first day in 3 days!) and feel better for it this morning but I'm hungry....

How is everyone doing?

whatthewhatthewhat · 09/10/2019 10:40

@feellikezerobucks back on it today, but am 6lbs up from lowest weight! Can't believe I put that much of being off plan for the weekend (and then some)

Hoping most of it's water weight and will come off after a day or two...

It's so fucking stupid. All I have to do is stick to it for like x amount of months and it will work... just try telling my brain that!

Well done on getting back on plan

Well done to everyone sticking to it!!

@whatthewhatthewhat you're braver than me as I didn't even dare get on the scales!

I know what you mean....you lose some weight, feel better, eat what you fancy and end up fat again!

My aim of this week is to weigh in the same (or lower) than I did on Saturday!
Like you say, I'm sure those 6lbs will be off by the weekend x

whatthewhatthewhat · 11/10/2019 08:16

Happy Friday! Hope everyone is on track and gets through the weekend...

OP posts:
feellikezerobucks · 11/10/2019 09:07

@whatthewhatthewhat thanks!

How are you getting on?

I was good the/wed but then went out for dinner last night....back on it today though.

Trying not to be too hard on myself and still enjoy life (but not just everyday!)

I feel so much better in my fat fat clothes but tried by fat clothes on and still way to tight, those that I could do up!!

Have a strong weekend all 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

whatthewhatthewhat · 11/10/2019 09:24

@feellikezerobucks it's nice when you are starting to feel it in clothes 😁

I've been on and off it. Managed ok yesterday. Two bars then a low carb meal. Just going to take each day at a time and see how I can get through!

OP posts:
feellikezerobucks · 11/10/2019 09:28

@whatthewhatthewhat I'm doing every meal at a time 🤦🏽‍♀️ it's like when you have a new born and never know how successful a feed is going to be....I'm never sure how successful a meal is going to be 🤷🏼‍♀️

whatthewhatthewhat · 11/10/2019 09:40

@feellikezerobucks lol! So true! Nice analogy... let's just hope we don't end up drinking from a bottle and sitting in our own (psychological/emotional) shit! 🤣🤣🤣

I'm still here, staying strong(ish). Son came home from school really pleased as he had made flapjack at school so of course I had to try some. Omg it was the best thing I've ever eaten seeing as I've not had solid food for almost 2 weeks. I could've fallen on the whole thing but I just had a small piece.

Have been invited out by a lovely lady at work for her birthday drinks a week on Sunday. She has only asked a couple of people so didn't feel I could say no. Will try not to drink much, but gin ...

boredboredboredboredbored · 11/10/2019 13:44

Howdy folks I'm still here too. Very much like you some days fab other days not as good. I'm not weighing very often as I become despondent with my weight which leads to me binging. All I know is my clothes are looser and I feel loads better.

Did a 5 mile run Wednesday and today which I always feel better after. This is a long haul not a race I guess gotta just keeps chipping those pounds away 👍🏻

Sparrowlegs248 · 11/10/2019 14:51

Hello all, I'm still lurking, but still feeling really poorly. I don't work Fridays and have literally spent the day in bed. Saw GP last week who told me to stop the products and supplements for the time being, although I couldn't stomach them anyway. I'm hoping to be back to it once I feel a bit better, not least because of the £££s of products in my cupboard!

whatthewhatthewhat · 11/10/2019 19:52

@Nottalotta that's ages 🙁 what's caused it?

OP posts:
Sparrowlegs248 · 11/10/2019 20:01

@whatthewhatthewhat I'm not sure, I have underactive thyroid and anaemia, had blood tests which showed thyroid levels were not what they should be but only borderline. Maybe a virus, I don't know. I just want to feel better!

whatthewhatthewhat · 11/10/2019 20:27

Thyroid bad - still, look on the bright side - if they give you right meds the weight will drop off!!!

OP posts:
Sparrowlegs248 · 11/10/2019 20:29

@whatthewhatthewhat sadly it doesn't work like that. I wish it did! I've been on meds for 18 months, no difference to weight at all

bigfatfatty19 · 11/10/2019 20:46

Can I join? I need buddies!

Stats Blush
5ft 2
Start weight: 15st 3 (21st September)
Current weight: 14st 6 (this morning)
Goal weight: 8st then see how I feel

No specific diet just very low cals (aiming for 200/300 max a day). I know that's extreme but I'm disabled and can't exercise so something drastic is needed!

I'm weighing daily to record in my fitness pal. Can't deal with the anxiety of waiting a full week then possibly having a big gain!

boredboredboredboredbored · 12/10/2019 07:40

@bigfatfatty19 Welcome on board. Are you sure 200-300kcal a day is safe? I thought 800 was the bare minimum? I know many people don't exercise but still lose...just worth a thought x

whatthewhatthewhat · 12/10/2019 10:03

@Nottalotta sorry, was only trying to be whimsical, hope you're ok! Getting medication doses right can be a bugger :-(

OP posts:
bigfatfatty19 · 12/10/2019 10:48

@boredboredboredboredbored

To be honest, it's probably not the safest! But neither is being the weight I am. I suffer constant joint dislocations due to a connective tissue disorder so being overweight is damaging my body badly. I need to jump start the weight loss so I can slowly start exercising then I can afford to eat more cals but I'm finding that I'm not that hungry anymore and when I do eat I feel pretty sick so it's not as hard now as it was at the beginning.
