Target: 2kgs per month off by Christmas (any method) - anyone?

Just for some moral support/egging on, anyone else joining me with a steady 2kg per month off until Christmas? By any method we like?!

I am going to start (this week) with generally trying to eat less cals a day, less carbs and also try Intermittent Fasting a couple of times a week. Not going mad with crazy diets, and not going to break my neck doing it but also just trying to eat less/move more, and lose a couple of dress sizes over the next few months.

Would anyone like to join me? :)

@beela would you mind me asking how long it took to shift the three stone? Any wise words for a newbie?

I just really liked the way the No-S man writes and it's fool proof, if it works! I'm going to limit my s day freedoms to give myself a little boost till the end of the month. I need to see some results or I'll get despondent and cave.

Toooldtobearsed2 · 23/08/2019 15:47

Afternoon all 😁 looks like some great success stories!
Just wanted to say though, if anyone has not lost, don't get down about it - just crack on and it will happen.
So, my stats are:
Start Now
11st 1lbs 10st 9lbs
70kg 69kg
156lbs 152lbs

Happy with the loss because it is sensible. I know that next week I will be lucky to 2lbs, but that, or any loss at all will be a bonus - I am at a Blues Festival thus weekend, so not holding out much hope for next week!

Weigh-in day has turned into pig out day and I have eaten 300,000 crisps Confused however there are 6 days to recover the situation

beela · 23/08/2019 21:55

@VeniVidiVoxi it took me 16-18 months. It was a steady 1-2lb per month, with some blips for summer hols and Christmas.

It suits me because you can eat whatever your family are eating, so it is a very subtle diet (I don't want to give my dc food or body issues).
Over time I found that my food choices got healthier because you naturally gravitate towards things that will keep you fuller for longer, rather than empty calories; I can't bear to 'waste' a meal by eating a McDonald's any more!

Happy to answer any other questions you have Smile

RubySlippers77 · 23/08/2019 23:13

@2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin I've definitely been there Grin

Well done @beela on your weight loss. I have three stone to lose and a year to do it in, or at least to reduce my substantial tummy Blush

No progress here, been away for a couple of days, eating out and trying to resist the various crisps/ sweets that the DC want constantly. Only a week and a bit to go until school is back (yippee!), I'll probably start planning for then.....

Toooldtobearsed2 · 24/08/2019 06:03

I think the thing to get into your head is that it does not matter if you don't lose, or even put on weight occasionally, you just keep going.
In the past, I have been far to 'strict' on a diet and when I have fallen off the wagon, just gave in and thought 'sod it'.
Now, I am giving myself time to lose the weight, so if i have a few blips, so what?
@2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin 300000 crisps isn't that bad - only 567 bags??? 🤣

PerfectionistProcrastinator · 24/08/2019 13:36

Hi all, I’d like to join please!

I have done slimming world on and off quite a few times now but the plan has been tweaked a little to allow more dairy since I last did it, which is making it easier for me.

I started around 10 days ago and so far feeling great. For me it’s not only about weight loss but a change of lifestyle as before I was definitely not getting my 5 a day. My problem is planning. I skip meals then stuff myself silly and feel rubbish.

I’m not being too regimented about weighing myself but I’d like to be slimmer by Christmas.

I am 5’6”
Today’s weight: 11 stone 7 3/4

KTD27 · 26/08/2019 09:55

Managed to make some sort of sensible choices yesterday. We had a journey from hell getting back from the north to the south with two hot and bored kids in the back seat I’d have sold my soul for a bag of crisps many times over.
Stuck to the plan though and service station lunch was a subway light sandwich
Dinner husband wanted fish and chips as we couldn’t be arsed to cook but our chippy does amazing grilled sea bass so I had that and made my own roast new potatoes. Actually very lovely and only stole a small handful of his chips. Grin

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 26/08/2019 20:56

well done KT - you probably deserve a large glass of something or other!

I was shocked to step on the scales yesterday morning to see 72.8 but think this was a freak incident and also these are not my scales. Am too scared to get back on again in case they have gone back up!

How's everyone else getting along?

OP posts:
beela · 26/08/2019 21:24

I have had a bit of a snacky weekend and have been out all day today so not eaten brilliantly. Too scared to step on the scales until Friday Blush

HOWEVER - I'm back to work at the end of this week and therefore will be able to reinstate some sort of routine into my life. I'm sat here meal planning for the rest of the week, so will hopefully pull it back before the next weigh in.

RubySlippers77 · 26/08/2019 22:47

I really have done nothing in terms of weight loss yet as I am tired, skint and fed up (and desperately waiting for school to start again!).

Hoping to use this week to plan meals and exercise - including cleaning the house - to be back on it from next Monday Grin

I am exhausted after many loooong weeks of childcare!

Toooldtobearsed2 · 27/08/2019 05:56

Ah RubySlippers77, not long to go now! Get planning 😁

I am over the moon. Expected to have put some weight back on after a boozy, Weatherspoony, hotel cooked breakfast type of weekend at a Blues Festival.
BUT, i weigh exactly the same now as I did before I went.
Very happy!

Toooldtobearsed2 · 27/08/2019 06:00

Oh, and beela - know what you mean about being scared of the scales. I had a wee and held my stomach in when I stepped on them last night. Saved me at least 6lbs 😁

SugarHockeyIcedTea · 27/08/2019 21:22

So glad it's not just me!

Been away for a few days and the eating hasn't been great (code for ate ALL the food on the West of Scotland) and there's been some other stresses going on too (whole other thread though!)

Back today and back on it tomorrow 🤞🏻

RubySlippers77 · 27/08/2019 23:44

Planning has started @Toooldtobearsed2, honest Grin

I'd love to go to more festivals, hoping to get tickets for Bestival and/ or Big Feastival next year, something like that (and of course by next summer I will be svelte and won't lumber around like a beached whale!). I've never aspired to go to Glastonbury or anything like that but something family friendly would be good.

Far far too hot here today though, immensely grumpy DC, it was a relief all round when they had a nap. Hoping tomorrow will be cooler and that they sleep ok.....

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 29/08/2019 11:48

Hello all, hope everyone is fine.
I've had a bit of a blip and have massively overeaten (someone even said to me yesterday that I have put on weight since they last saw me - thanks for that! Confused ) but I am back on it from this weekend.

I think I will skip the weigh in this week as I am sure it is over what I started at, and it will demotivate me!

KTD27 · 29/08/2019 15:05

I’m up 2lbs. Bloody annoying as had been down 5 since start of August. Totally to be expected but why oh why does it take me two days to put on what it takes me a week to lose? And there’s sooooooo many more lbs to go it’s not like I’m close to target. Or, you know, overweight BMI or anything. Still stuck firmly in obese territory.
Still onwards and please god downwards. Shall try get to gym tonight and have meal planned for the week.

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 29/08/2019 15:28

Maybe it's just water KT. 5lbs is amazing! you have still lost 3!

OP posts:
KTD27 · 29/08/2019 18:02

It’s probably mostly water in the form of wine. Grin

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 29/08/2019 20:30
Grin

My stomach is ENORMOUS Confused - definitely no weigh-in tomorrow.

OP posts:
VeniVidiVoxi · 29/08/2019 23:08

Oh god, I'm going to get weighed tomorrow but I'm really not looking forward to it. Been on holidays and I tried not to over eat but I think I failed miserably. Worst is I'm away with work next week as well. There is never a good time to make this work!! Fingers crossed the damage isn't terrible tomorrow but I want a number because I need the pressure.

By my self imposed target I wanted to be 70kg by end of the month. I'm sure that's not possible but revised target is maintain from last weeks 71.4kg. wish me luck!

VeniVidiVoxi · 30/08/2019 07:29

71.5kg! It's ok, I'll take that. Back on it from tomorrow (birthday celebration today!) and hope for the best. Good luck all x

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 30/08/2019 07:38

Happy Birthday Veni!
well done on your maintaining.

Good luck with weigh-ins everyone! I'll be back in the game this week.

Well, dead chuffed tbh. Had a boozy, rubbish eating weekend and expected to stick at best, but managed to lose a couple of pounds. Better still, have lost 2 bloody inches off my waist, so 🤗🤗
10st 7lbs lost 2lbs
68kg lost 1kg

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 30/08/2019 10:02

Amazing Toool!
