Target: 2kgs per month off by Christmas (any method) - anyone?

Just for some moral support/egging on, anyone else joining me with a steady 2kg per month off until Christmas? By any method we like?!

I am going to start (this week) with generally trying to eat less cals a day, less carbs and also try Intermittent Fasting a couple of times a week. Not going mad with crazy diets, and not going to break my neck doing it but also just trying to eat less/move more, and lose a couple of dress sizes over the next few months.

Would anyone like to join me? :)

Is it ok if I start posting my food too?im recording it on MFP but feel like I need more accountability!

B- scrambled eggs and smoked salmon

L- crispbreads, cheese

T- soup

S- GF muffin

Works out at around 1200 on the app.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

KTD27 · 19/08/2019 17:16

@SugarHockeyIcedTea that’s why I’m doing it too!
We didn’t end up at pizza express in the end we found a cafe and I opted for broccoli and leek soup. Delicious but I fear it was ‘cream of’ so no idea on calories!
Ah well. Can’t do much about it other than stay on plan the rest of the day and work hard in my pump class tonighy

Rezie · 19/08/2019 18:16

I don't want to count calories so I haven't logged today's food. But I did have some leftover choco from the weekend. Need to get rid of those types of snacks. Once they've been eaten I'll try not to buy new ones. But I had banana for breakfast today and I'm glad do didn't feel too hungry!

Slowslowlavaflow · 19/08/2019 18:44

Ladies. Is it too late to join?

RubySlippers77 · 19/08/2019 23:27

@Slowslowlavaflow some of us aren't starting properly till September (new school term) so I'm sure you will be fine!

Well done to everyone who's had a good day. I did great prepping for the day but massive, ongoing fights between the DC sent me diving into a pain au chocolat at the Lidl bakery counter. Roll on September and some free time!!

Slowslowlavaflow · 20/08/2019 06:38

Thanks @RubySlippers77 .. Much appreciated. Also, I hope that pain au chocolate was glorious and worth it lol.

I also reckon starting in September is best for me as I have an end of holiday trip ending on the 5th Sept. But, we can never choose when the motivation takes hold, so I will have to start if it takes me before September and deal with the lure of temptation with an iron fist whilst on holiday. Rarrrrrrr!

About me:
I had lost 7kg 2 months ago on Keto and Insanity over 1.5 months. They worked really well and I felt amazing. Then I fell off the wagon so to speak after a weekend away supporting a friend with a relationship issue, and put 5kg back on. I really want to go back to my university weight of around 60kg for my son and my overall health and wellbeing. I have PCOS which means I really should slim down and lower blood sugar to avoid diabetes. The time is now. I plan on restarting Keto and T25 initially, then Insanity, and try again to reach the goal. Restarting as soon as the strength flows through me; asap I hope.

Current weight - 87kg
Christmas target weight - 75kg
Overall target weight - 60kg

I know 4kg per month is possible for me because I've done it before. Healthily And safely. And knowing that, motivates me even more. Stay strong ladies. We can do it!

Grooviegazelloo · 20/08/2019 06:57

I'd like to join please.Another 5:2er here. I'm just back from holiday and not been on the scales yet. I'll need to work up to getting on course and will start next week. Plus, I'll do the C25K too. Any tips re apps for that would be welcome. Smile

KTD27 · 20/08/2019 10:07

@Grooviegazelloo I’m literally using an app called c25k it’s orange... it allows me to listen to my own music and the very kind sounding lady comes along and tells me when to run and walk etc so I don’t have to watch the clock. It has also reminded me to ‘dust off my shoe and go running’ this week as I hadn’t managed to get the 3 sessions in so it’s worth a try! Free too.

VeniVidiVoxi · 21/08/2019 07:33

Hello all, do you mind if I poke my head around the door to say hi and maybe join the group?

I don't see anyone doing the diet I'm trying - the "no S" so so snacks, sweets or seconds (I might have changed sugar to sweets, can't remember but basically if it's sweet I won't have it, just not ruling out any sugar at all). I've tried calorie counting before and it's too faffy for me and I get portions wrong so my totals are way off and I get depressed when I don't lose anything. I dog walk daily and begrudgingly run maybe once a week. I want to start swimming again but it always makes be hungry! Going to cycle to the train station to get the heart going first thing.

I'm 40 in one year's time and I want to be in good shape for my LO who is almost 2. If I'm going to be mistaken for granny I want to be fit as f* granny. I was 72kg at end o last week, want to be 65kg by Christmas and 62kg by May when other big events are coming up. I'd love your company to keep me motivated x

alwaysonadiet1 · 21/08/2019 11:46

Just started 16 8 and want to lose about 2 stone/12 kg. Making no other changes to keep it sustainable so let's see if it works!

KTD27 · 21/08/2019 15:01

Just been for my weigh in. Half a pound off this week. Sounds measly but I AM thrilled after my crazy weekend of all the Prosecco and gin in the world.
Another shed load of birthday celebrations on the way over the next week but it will be super strict September for me so trying not to stress too much...

Crayolaaa · 21/08/2019 15:43

I'm in as I'm ballooning by the week due to no willpower to exercise and mainlining carbs.

I'm going to up the exercise to begin with as then I'll also feel better and not want all the crap!

Need to find somewhere consistent to weigh myself as my scales give different results depending which room I'm in!

kitkat6 · 21/08/2019 17:27

Hi just popping in to say hi very quickly before I head off to see a client 1700kcals this week and so far it is going fairly well.

Although how the hell is their 212kcals in 4 maryland cookies!!!!!!

RubySlippers77 · 22/08/2019 00:15

Well done to everyone with willpower who is doing well already!! Unfortunately I am with @Crayolaaa and shovelling in carbs to try to find some energy. The school hols have been loooooong and relentless.....

BlackCatSleeping · 22/08/2019 05:23

I'm doing ok. I'm eating between 1500-1700 kcals per day. My kids go back to school tomorrow (Friday), so will start the gym next week which will hopefully up my game a bit.

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 22/08/2019 08:05

Hi all,
I'm AFS (Away From Scales) until Wednesday next week. Have no idea how I am doing but am trying to be good. Last night I had no dinner but half a bottle of wine, this is not an ideal diet!

Yesterday:
B: 3 oatcakes/peanut butter/marmalade
L: greek salad
S: half a cupcake
D: none/wine

Hi, can I join you please? I want to lose my summer holiday weight gain before the Christmas craziness starts.

@VeniVidiVoxi I'm a no-ser too. I know that it works for me, I lost 3 stone on it a couple of years ago, and have been maintaining but a few lb have crept on over the school hols with lack of exercise and more ice creams Blush

My plan is to be as moderate as possible for the next couple of weeks, then super strict from September once the dc are back at school and we have routine in our lives again.

Current weight: 63kg
Weight before summer holidays: 60kg
Target weight: 59kg

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 22/08/2019 20:18

B: 3 oatcakes peanut butter/marmalade & 2 boiled eggs (300)
L: Nachos/cheese (500?)
S: chocolate wafer (200)
D: greek salad & potato/cheese omlette (400)

1400 cals

Evening all
I’ve had a good few days after a not great weekend when I had a lot of wine and crisps. My step count has been good and I’m really hoping I’ll still have 1lb off, but it’s not a cert.

Bank holidays always throw me off balance as well, what with bbqs and pimms etc, but I’m pleased to have the extra day off work

Good luck for your weigh-ins, everyone!

BlackCatSleeping · 23/08/2019 00:35

Week 1:

Starting weight - 63kg
Current weight - 62kg

Also 1kg down! That's given me the motivation I needed not to spend the bank holiday weekend eating cake and drinking wine. Well, not all of it anyway.

VeniVidiVoxi · 23/08/2019 08:42

Morning, good news!

72kg last Friday, started no-S on Monday, had a few mis-steps forgetting that fruit is still a snack but..... 71.4kg today. 0.6kg might not seem like much but slow and steady is good for me. Got a very busy weekend ahead so hopefully will burn through a few calories.
