Just for some moral support/egging on, anyone else joining me with a steady 2kg per month off until Christmas? By any method we like?!

I am going to start (this week) with generally trying to eat less cals a day, less carbs and also try Intermittent Fasting a couple of times a week. Not going mad with crazy diets, and not going to break my neck doing it but also just trying to eat less/move more, and lose a couple of dress sizes over the next few months.

Would anyone like to join me? :)

@Rezie I'm happy to join too - 3st to lose here!

No-one bought me any alcohol or chocolate for Christmas. Perhaps they're all trying to tell me something?!

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 29/12/2019 11:43

Good first day 2Slices Grin

My first day will be Jan 1st. Sigh. We have a bottle of champagne to get through tomorrow, even though I will be doing zero actual celebrating!

Rezie · 30/12/2019 22:50

I went to all you can eat pizza buffet. So this was great 😅

KTD27 · 31/12/2019 08:46

I’m not starting until next week. Will try ease myself in over the weekend but honestly I’m just going with the flow at the moment. I have found that I’m not particularly very hungry so I’m trying to listen to my body and not force three meals down me. I weighed myself yesterday and had not done too badly so shall keep this strategy up and hitch myself back to the wagon as of next week when DH gets back I to his routine because honesty it’s all his fault Grin

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 31/12/2019 11:52

Yeah actually good plan, no point in starting until next week!
Happy New Year to you all! xx

Well.....did anyone start their new regime today?

I have had a breakthrough with breakfasts as they are my biggest 'problem' area as I usually cave and want toast and honey but I had a green apple with a tablespoon of peanut butter this morning and it was satisfying AND quite filling without being too carby. Think I may do this more often.

Had a salad for lunch, 3 quality streets in the afternoon and now just making a veg burger, potatoes and cabbage. Which is not amazing but overall ok for the day.

How is everyone else doing?

Is anyone else giving up the vino for January - I am just having a small whiskey as I'm coughing but am going to have a bit of a detox re wine I think. for a few weeks at least!

KTD27 · 02/01/2020 20:43

Erm. I want to say yes. But that would be a MASSIVE lie.
It’s DH bday Sunday and honestly it feels like it’s already started. Trying to minimise the damage but on struggle street.
I can’t see me doing anything sensible until Monday BUT I shall be off the booze except for pre arranged nights out of which there are three in January so that should help. I hope!

RubySlippers77 · 02/01/2020 22:36

Ha! No, my good intentions went to the wall when DP moaned and moaned and moaned that I wouldn't look after the DC whilst he got on with painting the bedroom incredibly slowly. Meant I had no time to meal prep/ cook/ do pretty much anything apart from look after two snotty and grumpy preschoolers.

@2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin I fully intended to participate in dry January but a week and a half with DP at home is sending me towards the Gin and no mistake. He's back to work Monday

Rezie · 03/01/2020 09:22

Last week 82.2 kg
This week 81.6 kg

I've decided to let go of the concept of being good. I'll try to make smarter choices but go with the "everything in moderarion" approach. I'll try to motivate myself from the saving point of view and not do take aways or eating out too much etc.

ohnomesandwiches · 05/01/2020 20:23

Hello everyone. Weighing myself tomorrow so I can see the damage done over Christmas 😞

KTD27 · 06/01/2020 21:04

Great start @Rezie! I’m back on the wagon finally. Made some chicken soup and had fish with veggies for dinner. Have points to spare which is definitely not going to make up for two weeks of indulgence but I might mitigate some damage. I weighed this morning and am 7lbs up! Blush but am hoping to get a few off before my official ww weigh in weds eve.
@RubySlippers77 my DH is calling it ‘damo’ January. Not strictly dry but not as wet as december Grin think I can live with that!

KTD27 · 06/01/2020 21:04

Bloody damp! Not damo

RubySlippers77 · 06/01/2020 21:50

@Rezie I am 3.5lb up Blush but back on SW as of today. Step count is a bit poor as the DC didn't want to go out at all - it was freezing cold and their last day off school so I let them off! - but I did a HIIT workout and then kids yoga with the DC (harder than I thought it would be!).

I haven't had a drink yet but DP is out for a belated Xmas do on Friday and I may allow myself a Wine then as consolation for being home with the DC!

KTD27 · 08/01/2020 21:08

I’m 1lb on Smile I can cope with that!! Chicken soups are the way forward

RubySlippers77 · 10/01/2020 23:24

I made a big batch of minestrone soup yesterday and felt very virtuous as I ate it! although missed some crusty bread to go with it

This week has been concentrating on meal planning; been doing plenty of steps but not much 'structured' exercise. Will add that next week once I have (hopefully!) got the hang of this bit.

1lb not bad at all @KTD27!

Rezie · 11/01/2020 07:40

Last week: 81.6kg
Now: 81.2 kg

Minestrone sounds good! I also bought tons of different soup materials. Gonna give those a try. Need to save up a bit of money so gonna make a big pot!

KTD27 · 11/01/2020 10:29

Making french onion today. A low cal version so will likely be Envy (not envy!) but might stop me eating the pan of it so either way works

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 11/01/2020 14:39

Hi everyone, happy weekend. How is everyone.
Had a busy week last week so no chance to update.

On day 2 of low carb -
will have a weigh in tomorrow. I was up at 76kg (gah) so that will be my starting point.

Today I've had:
B: small portion of shakshuka (egg/tomato)
L: aubergine curry pie (almond crust - was so good).
D at 3pm: aubergine curry pie again
S: fruit yoghurt

I'm not sure how many cals the pie will have been - it used quarter of a bag of almond flour. gulp.

Hopefully down a bit tomorrow anyway.
Does anyone have some targets in mind?

I would like:

1 March: 70kg
1 August: 65kg
1 Dec: 60kg

hmm. Ambitious!!!

OP posts:
KTD27 · 11/01/2020 19:32

I’d take your current weight as my goal @2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin!!
I want another 7lbs off by the end of feb. I’m really aiming for 10. But I’ll take 7.
Then I will be a stone heavier than when I got married and 2 stone heavier than the lightest I’ve ever been as an adult. So that’s the ultimate. By the end of August my40th bday.

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 12/01/2020 11:37

That'll be good going KT - a good target.

Today has been a good day:
B: 2 boiled eggs and a babybel
L: minestrone soup, avocado and a babybel
D: quorn burger, broccoli salad, homous
S: 4 finger kit kat (not good but it could be worse!)

All meals finished by 4pm.

OP posts:
KTD27 · 13/01/2020 16:09

Today’s been good for me
Boiled eggs for breakfast
French onion soup (homemade and without cheese and bread)
And dinner is prawns

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 13/01/2020 16:17

well done KT.
i had a pleasant surprise this morning on the scales 74.9 (haven't seen 74 for a long time) but it may be ruined after today, not sure.

B: 4 oatcakes/honey
S: 4 oatcakes/honey
L: quorn burger & broccoli salad
S: lemon drizzle cake slice
D: mushroom, egg and beans.

I think I had way too many treats today. Blush
