Just for some moral support/egging on, anyone else joining me with a steady 2kg per month off until Christmas? By any method we like?!

I am going to start (this week) with generally trying to eat less cals a day, less carbs and also try Intermittent Fasting a couple of times a week. Not going mad with crazy diets, and not going to break my neck doing it but also just trying to eat less/move more, and lose a couple of dress sizes over the next few months.

Would anyone like to join me? :)

@ohnomesandwiches I wish I did! You could try fruit for breakfast and having a brunch style lunch to save you some calories if you are hitting the booze later. I stick to eggs and fish in order to balance it out. I’d probably donPoverty calories until the weekend and then forget about it. It’s all about balance over the week so don’t worry too much but have a plan for Monday when you’re back.
I weighed in today another 2.5 off 1 and a half stone in total since August 1st! Flipping thrilled.
I have a way to go yet but that was my goal for our holiday next week so I’m buzzing. Would love to lose another 7 lbs before Xmas but don’t think that’s happening we have so much on!!

RubySlippers77 · 21/11/2019 23:20

@ohnomesandwiches could you order a few sides instead of main dishes? I sometimes find that main meals can be quite stodgy but if you have a side salad, maybe a garlic bread and some cooked meats (for example) it's less stodge but still feels filling.

I lost 2lb this week - yay! But poor little DTS1 is still suffering after having his tonsils out and craved pizza this evening, so I gave in and ordered him some Blush however it's given me really bad joint pain, which I think has confirmed my (self) diagnosis of wheat intolerance. Maybe this will help with my weight loss, as it means cutting out Cake?!

Rezie · 22/11/2019 11:59

Last week: 81.1kg
This week: 81.4kg
Sigh.

I think the best way to handle weekend happenings is to eat normally but avoid the extras. No need for dessert. No need for the 3am kebab, no need for the cake at the coffee place (if hungry then sandwich instead). So not actively cutting out but just not taking the extras.

Mahdia · 22/11/2019 16:55

Thank you ohnomesandwiches !!

Yep! I have seen any type of regular eating habit or diet is hard when you get out of your home whether it’s your family’s house a friend or even a restaurant you kind of wanna “cheat” or give yourself an excuse to not stick to the plan. I think also what helps is to drink two cups of water when you feel peckish trust me it’s been tried and tested and all the naughty cravings will slowly disappear!

Hope it becomes easy for you and all the best!!!

My friends took me to Jimmys as a surprise when I first started the dieting and I swore I wouldn’t have any carbs or dessert then something told me come on it’s only for two hours plus you paid so you might as well! But I stopped dieting for a while after that coz I lost motivation plus I kind of thought that little bit set me back so hope you keep it up and well done as well! You’re all an inspiration for me!!!!
💪

Hello everyone and welcome Mahida!
Sorry for the absence, I lost the thread for a while! I have reordered the month worth of food again for December and am going to try to stick to it this month! I had lost 1.5kg but it may be back on after the last few days, but anyway I feel less podgy and am going to stick at it.

How is everyone else doing?

@2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin this thread regularly drops off my 'threads I'm on' list, no idea why!!

What was the food like by the way? Actually tasty and filling or more just bearable?!

I'm looking for an advent fitness challenge to boost my weight loss efforts. I'm also feeling utterly rubbish at the moment; neither DC is sleeping well and I look like Confused every morning when they wake me up far too early

KTD27 · 24/11/2019 20:02

@RubySlippers77 an advent calendar fitness challenge is a great idea. I keep this thread in my watchlist or else I lose it too!
Little gremlin is sick here we had a tough night last night. Just a really rubbish virus with a cold and a cough but it’s made sleeping tricky and she’s pretty miserable. Poor chick. Hoping for a good night tonight. I’ve eaten a lot of sugar and carbs to keep me going today.

I basically ate London at the weekend so I'm not going to weigh myself until Friday and see if I can undo some of the damage.

:(

KTD27 · 27/11/2019 13:27

@ohnomesandwiches Grin good luck.
1.5 lb off for me this week. On a roll. Which is about to stop as I’m hopefully getting on a plane for our well deserved kid free weekend tomorrow. Both small people are sick so feeling extraordinarily guilty. Hoping they bounce back by the morning.

RubySlippers77 · 30/11/2019 23:47

Well done on the weight loss @KTD27! How are your DC? Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend away Grin

Did you manage to redeem the week @ohnomesandwiches?

I'm going to weigh in on Monday, ate shedloads of some chocolate the week before (AF!) but last week was very restrained, mainly due to an enormous row with DP and not wanting to eat with him. It's actually worked much better for me eating a main meal at lunch and then maybe just a snack in the evening, let's hope it's reflected on the scales!

Still no ideas for the advent challenge though.....

KTD27 · 01/12/2019 03:52

Well I am sat on the plane about to fly back home. Amazing weekend but I can feel I’ve literally piled on the weight. Eugh. Back on the plan today. Dread stepping on the scales but face up to it I must. Confused

RubySlippers77 · 01/12/2019 22:09

Glad you had a great time @KTD27! I take it you enjoyed some fab meals out?!

KTD27 · 02/12/2019 06:49

@RubySlippers77 it was amazing. Amazing. Such good food. All of the wine. The cocktails. Just every single thing. And worth it

RubySlippers77 · 02/12/2019 21:26

Sounds wonderful @KTD27! I have had no amazing wine and cocktails and still only lost 0.5lb Sad might as well have drunk all the gin and Baileys we have in the fridge.....

KTD27 · 07/12/2019 07:55

Put on a half pound this week. I don’t quite believe it think my body takes a while to catch on but I took it and ran away from the scales.
Another celebration this weekend and a wedding next. Firmly into Christmas danger season I’m barely hanging on to the wagon with my fingertips...

RubySlippers77 · 10/12/2019 22:26

@KTD27 I fell off the wagon into a tub of Pringles Blush been feeling so utterly rubbish this past week or so. Maybe if I saved up my ££ rather than buying more Pringles, I could afford a holiday in the sun to cheer myself up?!

KTD27 · 12/12/2019 14:13

Another pound and a half on it’s all gone wrong!

KTD27 · 12/12/2019 14:13

@RubySlippers77 god I love Pringles

RubySlippers77 · 13/12/2019 10:04

@KTD27 I was never that bothered about them. This week, however.....!

Christmas is a lovely time of year in many ways - the DC are very excited about it - but my goodness the amount of crap food that's always around, and very cheap Sad

Plus, I have even less time than usual as I spend ages writing cards and wrapping presents. Bah humbug.

I'd love to make an appointment with a dietitian, try to work out whether I do have a wheat intolerance or am just eating too many Pringles, but will have to wait and see if I get any Christmas money first as am far too skint otherwise! Xmas Smile

KTD27 · 22/12/2019 17:14

Happy Christmas everyone. I know lots of us dropped off the thread as we battled through the festive season but it was super helpful for me anyway! Flowers and because we are nearly there Cake

RubySlippers77 · 23/12/2019 22:04

Happy Christmas @KTD27 (and everyone else!) - hopefully lots of people will be back in the New Year! I know I will be getting my fat arse into gear in preparation for a family wedding!!

Rezie · 26/12/2019 15:55

Okay, safe to say that I completely failed at my goal and at my re-defined goal. So maybe 1-2kg per month by june?

KTD27 · 27/12/2019 09:11

Grin @Rezie
I’m up for that. Up for anything which keeps me accountable really. Have another 4 stone to lose Blush probably more after Xmas. I’d be happy with 3 - actually I’d be bloody thrilled with a further 2 tbh but I’m aiming high - or low as the case may be

Rezie · 27/12/2019 17:00

@KTD27 I somehow managed to eat ok at Christmas but I drank so much that it's where all the calories came! Need to also save a bit of money so proper diet will work with that as well!

New plan
Current weight: 82.2
Target at the end of may: 77 kg
