VivaFrida · 30/04/2019 15:44

A fresh slate for May!

Carrying over from the April thread but new joiners are welcome.

Please join this thread - all plans are included (calorie counters, weight watchers, citizens of slimming world, intermittent fasters, no-carbers, eating-only-blue-food eaters).

We are here to support each other and aim to lose 7 pounds, or 3 kgs.

Official start: tomorrow, May 1st.

My starting weight for May is 60.0 kgs and getting to 57-ish kg or just under by the end of the month would be great.

Who is in?

1st May 10st 10lbs
8th May 10st 7.0lbs

3 lbs 🤔 I'm dubious about this. Must find time to get to Tesco and check on their scales

Ladyyoyo · 08/05/2019 18:44

Hi all, day 2 today. Nothing lost this morning 😩. But I decided to maintain my effort as it can’t work in 24hours. So this morning I started with the porridge that was good, as a porridge ! I had MRP chicken soup: this one is good, I liked it honestly. This afternoon I had their cookies and it was good, and very welcome 😛! Tonight diner will be later than usual as my husband will come home later, so finger cross I won’t crack on🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞. Will keep you posted tomorrow ! By everyone and thanks for your support.

DeadButDelicious · 08/05/2019 20:12

Evening all!

Ended up being a little bit over today at 1,637 (I don't think 1,500 everyday is doable for me this week so I'm sticking to my original 1,600) but I figure it's better to be a little bit over than be hungry and end up binging on something.

Just about to take the dog out and get an early night.

Wallywobbles · 08/05/2019 21:10

Well a good morning all in all. Down 5kg since 23/04.

My fast 800 and 8 week plan books have arrived. So I've been experimenting with some of the ingredients. Made a black been mush thing. V low cal bolonaise more veg than meat. Kids had it in wraps. I had it on mushrooms.

Made a prawn and veg soup, which I'll have tomorrow for lunch.

Prepared tomorrow night meal - Mediterranean veg with melted feta in, which I'll steam the fish over when I reheat it tomorrow.

Planning scrambled eggs on beef tomatoes for breakfast.

FattySmith · 08/05/2019 22:11

Well done everyone on the impressive losses! Inspiring stuff. 🌟

And thank you for the motivation/encouragement. I’m in the ‘finding it a slog’ camp atm. I’ve lost the grand total of 1/2 Ib since 22nd April Confused

Struggling to stay in my calorie allowance but not going too crazy either. Agree that it’s better to be a bit over than feel really deprived then binge.

My weigh in day is Monday, hopefully next week I’ll see more of a difference 🤞

edwardson · 08/05/2019 22:30

Holy crap @Wallywobbles that's a great loss in such a short time - well done!

@Ladyyoyo this may be a stupid question, but what's MRP?

YahBasic · 08/05/2019 22:35

Just weighed in at 11st 8.5 - I normally weigh first thing in the morning so hoping I’ve lost a little extra overnight Grin

3.5 lbs down so far, 4 weeks to go till hols so would love to be around 11st 4 ish and then only a stone to lose across the rest of this year.

Startoftheyear2019 · 08/05/2019 22:37

Well done everyone. I'm sticking to 1300 calories per day but none of my clothes feel baggier and I'm determined not to weigh myself until Friday. I'm feeling mentally strong though and being on this thread really helps!

Ladyyoyo · 08/05/2019 23:02

Hi Edwardson,
It meal replacement. And there is no stupid question😉

OhTheRoses · 09/05/2019 06:53

Having plateaud since last Friday I think there's been a mini shift. Hopefully my 1lb in May that fluctuated between the low and 2.5lb higher has now slipped off and can be built on (or should that be off). It has been a slog after 7lb in the first two weeks but probably why I have failed so often.

Ah well only 2 to 2.5 stones to go. Oh let's be honest. First goal is to break 13st. Next one will be to break 12.7 (that was my weight 21 years ago, the night before dd was born). I am truly disgusted with myself and it isn't a good feeling - as bad as feeling like a fat blob.

ImpossibleNovelty · 09/05/2019 08:31

Good morning all! Still a bit down about the gain but determined to carry on. So:
B: babybel
L: soup and avocado
D: salmon and green veg
S: dark choc and nuts
I hope everyone has a decent day Smile

Lookingforpizza · 09/05/2019 09:05

Morning all! Scales are steadily going down so I’m feeling pretty good

B: Alpen and yoghurt
L: Sainsbury’s good to yourself tomato and lentil soup
D: Salmon with salad and quinoa and bulgar wheat
Snacks: A few small chocs later tonight, hot chocolate and I’ve had a skinny latte this morning as a treat.

All brings me to about 1350 calories today :) I’ll be going for a walk at lunch time and need to clean the house tonight which is a good calorie burner!

VivaFrida · 09/05/2019 09:06

Hola amigos y amigas! (actually I think it's only amigas on this thread?)

it's...

Star DAY NINE Star

we have almost made it in double digits!

So, after saying I would not weigh every day I have proceeded to... weigh every day! Blush

But, but, but... I could 'feel' lighter this morning and in fact I was, I am 59.3kg, only a loss of 700 gr from the beginning of the month but that loss brings me at a total of 11kg lost since February 27 (when I started looking after myself).

I am now over 75% to my goal: only 3.3kg to go!

I am (mildly) confident I shall hit my target in June or whereabouts. It truly does not matter if now takes me a while to get to goal because the difference in how I feel/look/am is already enormous... I am trying to enjoy the journey! And make sure that what I am eating is sustainable... when I do not lose every week my first thought is to limit my allowance further, and I know I have the willpower to live on air and optimism for a few days... and lose weight quickly.... and then put it back on equally quickly I guess... so I keep on keeping on! (still limiting the choc mini eggs though).

I have "interim targets" and (a big) one of them was to reach 59kg for May 22 when I am presenting at a work thing - and I am nearly there. Grin Grin Grin.

Have a lovely day, all!

Morning all!

Stuck in waiting for a delivery today. It's chucking it down as well so I'm trying to keep busy too avoid snacking. I do feel good today though, for the first time I feel like I've lost weight, things are starting to feel loose. Things are going the right way!

Today's meal plan looks like this:

B: All bran with whole milk and my multivitamin.

L: Chicken Tikka Masala with veg, whole grain rice and malt loaf

D: Veggie burger with veg, half a potato wedged and baked and my last nakd bar.

Bringing me in at 1,586 for today.

Finalised my shopping delivery for tomorrow and it's looking much better. Less sweet treats, lots of veg.

Glad to see everyone doing well! Whether your losing, gaining or maintaining, you're trying and that's brilliant!

snooksmcgee · 09/05/2019 14:01

Starting to get a little disheartened as my weight has stayed the same since the weekend, despite sticking to under 1400 cal (I'm mostly under 1200 each day).

I can't really do much exercise at the minute as i'm in the middle of a house renovation so I have to stay "on-site" all day, I also don't have a working kitchen, so can only eat salads, or things cooked in the microwave or toaster. In a few weeks time I will be able to go out for walks during the day again though, so hopefully that will help.

My typical day at the moment is:
Breakfast: Quaker porridge pot or toasted waffle
Lunch: Chicken salad sandwich on granary
Tea: Jacket potato, ham and salad or chicken salad or low cal ready meal
Snacks: Go ahead bar or fruit or yogurt

shoelace88 · 09/05/2019 14:17

Good morning y'all! I can relate with the food and friends comments. I live in New Orleans and in the south, it is very rude to no eat someone's food. Luckily for me, idgaf and can just say "hey, put that muffaletta back in the tin, I don't want that shit." Jk... I definitely put everything on my plate a spread it around. 🤣
Anywho, I'm still on my period and its making me snacky. So ready for it to be over. I've also noticed weight isn't just melting off of me like it did when I was in my 20s. Oh well

Breakfast: fresh fruit
Lunch: oatmeal
Dinner: veggie kabobs with pork chop
Snack: trying to stick with fruit or vegetables
Workout: fitness blender on YouTube

Y'all have a fantastic day! Congratulations on all the weight loss and extra love to those who are struggling! 🥰

Wellthatwastricky · 09/05/2019 15:47

Great work on all the losses, and breaking the plateau!

I made a calorie boo boo today, it's only trivial but it's annoyed me. Had a lunchtime appointment in town, and was so ravenous afterwards I could've gnawed the leg off a passerby so I popped into Boots. Spent ages checking the calories and bought a graze flapjack thinking it was only 80 calories. Turns out that's the calories for one teeny tiny crumb of flapjack but I ate the whole bloody thing at nearly 300 calories Angry it means I've spunked all my spare calories on a mediocre and not even slightly satisfying snack.

I'm going to have to think about low cal snacks I can take out easily to stop something like this happening again. The silly thing is 99% of the time I'm carrying snacks for the children but never anything for me (usually a good thing!).

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 09/05/2019 16:04

Scales now say I've lost 3 and a half pounds since 1st May. Can this be true?

Lookingforpizza · 09/05/2019 19:39

I’ve been giving my house a clean this evening and spent the entire time thinking about ordering a pizza. Salmon is in the oven and salad is prepped, proud of myself for sticking on track!

Congrats @funkybarnyardbroom that’s fantastic! Grin

Startoftheyear2019 · 09/05/2019 19:52

I'm being extra careful today as I'm planning to weigh myself tomorrow. Very keen to have a glass of wine but resisting hard.

Not done too badly today.
B - banana
L - vegan sausage roll from Greggs Blush
Snack - goji and coconut vegan protein balls
D - baked sweet potato with salad and fat free cottage cheese

1 coffee with almond milk and a G&T!

Still came in under points even with the accidental Greggs visit!

DeadButDelicious · 09/05/2019 20:47

Evening all!

Not a bad day today all told. Had a very nice curry for lunch. The potato I was planning on having with my tea had gone bad when I cut into it so I had to use a larger one which has taken me to 1,673 calories today. But we did get a walk in today despite the rain so I'm at least back in the green on MyFitnessPal.

It's Fuck It Friday tomorrow and I thoroughly intend to enjoy it!

Ladyyoyo · 09/05/2019 21:05

Hi all, this morning I was 1.1lbs less🥳. Very happy to start losing, finger cross I will have fast results.
B: porridge with some strawberries
L: a MRP chicken soup with green bean salad
S: Almond bar
D: chicken curry with eggplant and zucchini !
Tomorrow is Friday and I have dinner with friends, will see how I manage it🤨. Have all a lovely evening. Take care

cricketmum84 · 10/05/2019 07:19
