A fresh slate for May!

Carrying over from the April thread but new joiners are welcome.

Please join this thread - all plans are included (calorie counters, weight watchers, citizens of slimming world, intermittent fasters, no-carbers, eating-only-blue-food eaters).

We are here to support each other and aim to lose 7 pounds, or 3 kgs.

Official start: tomorrow, May 1st.

My starting weight for May is 60.0 kgs and getting to 57-ish kg or just under by the end of the month would be great.

Who is in?

Hi everyone.
Just posting in with my meals today:
B: Porridge with peanut butter and a tsp of raspberry jam (dd had eaten the last of the fruit!)
L: big salad with puy lentils, avocado, olives and feta.
D: Joe Wicks’ McLeanie burger (wholemeal bun) with corn on the cob.
Only water to drink today and 1 coffee. Am pretty pleased with myself. A bit hungry though, although I know that’ll pass in a couple of days.
Hope everyone else has had a good day.

ImpossibleNovelty · 06/05/2019 19:49

Oh I’m struggling today. I am ravenous, which I know is a result of eating carbs over the weekend. I cracked and had a large chocolate chip cookie which I’m afraid was bloody amazing Blush. Determined to get back on it but damn, carbs are delicious. Shame they make me eat like a machine Sad

DeadButDelicious · 06/05/2019 19:57

Evening all!

Not a bad day today. Little bit headachey. And snacky, actually ravenously hungry would be more accurate. This always happens the last day or so of my period. No matter how much I eat I'm still peckish. I'm trying very hard not to fall off the wagon. I'm going to take the dog out for a stroll hopefully it will take my mind off food.

Total calories today, 1,539.

DeadButDelicious · 06/05/2019 20:55

I fell off the wagon. Bum. Stupid forgotten Easter egg.

Make today's total 1,809. Bum.

MummyBearBoo · 06/05/2019 22:45

Just get back on tomorrow it's fine!! Xx

Mabellavender · 06/05/2019 22:49

Is 1800 calories really that bad? It won’t make you put on weight will it? You could do som exercise to try and burn it off?

Mabellavender · 06/05/2019 22:50

And same here, last day or so of my period too and I’ve wanted to eat all day, resisted so far because it’s only week 1 for me and still a novelty but I do t usually have this willpower.

Chillifordays · 07/05/2019 05:45

Hello!
I've been reading the posts for inspiration and decided to jump in and join you all :)

I'm in Sydney and I'm following a plan by an Australian fitness trainer (kinda celebrity now I guess, I mean she was on dancing with the stars so at least Z-list?). It's called Michelle Bridges 12wbt. You pay a fee for 12 weeks worth of meal plans and exercise plans, community support etc.

This 12 week round started yesterday! So I'm on Day 2. 1200 and a daily work out either at home, at the gym, or a gym class.

I'm trying to lose 9kgs to take me to 60kg. Love reading all your stories and meal plans! My food today is:

B: Muesli with almond milk and an apple grated into it
L: Quinoa and tofu stir fry (left over from last night)
D: Roast veggie salad

I usually save my 'snacks' for coffee. I have one almond flat white a day, and two long blacks with a dash of soy milk.

Look forward to reaching all our weight loss goals together :)

cricketmum84 · 07/05/2019 06:49

Happy Tuesday everyone! My meal plan for today is
B: sliced melon
L: quinoa, beetroot, butternut squash and peppers (leftover from yesterday)
D: quorn chilli with rocket salad and a little dairy free cheese

I'll have 2 or 3 coffees with a dash of almond milk and a gin and slimline tonic tonight.

Hope everyone has a productive day!

MummyBearBoo · 07/05/2019 07:13

I might be out this month I'm not going to the gym today I'm going to go tomorrow but I can't burn as many calories as I normally would as although it's very early days it seems I'm pregnant but only 2-3 weeks so it could all end in a few days coz it's so early but hopefully not it's not that long ago since I last had a chemical pregnancy!!

edwardson · 07/05/2019 07:29

Well done on getting through the long weekend everyone! I'm extra impressed with those of you who've managed losses despite all the temptations :) and @DeadButDelicious 1800ish is still pretty good!

I've managed to stay exactly the same weight I was on the 1st of May, and considering the moments of indulgence I've had, I'm happy with that! Excited to be back in the routine for the rest of the week Smile

DeadButDelicious · 07/05/2019 08:16

Morning all!

Thank you for all the support over night! My willpower totally failed me and I went back and ate the rest of the Easter egg. BUT I'm choosing to put a positive spin on it as that is the last bit of tempting chocolate in the house and whilst it's not ideal that I scarfed the lot like Augustus Gloop, it is gone now and won't be being replaced. Onwards and upwards.

I weighed myself this morning and I came out at 125.3kg so that's a 0.2 loss. Not bad. I suspect I was carrying a bit of bloat from my period yesterday, which is thankfully now over for another month. I've woken up in a much better frame of mind this morning.

Thanks again! You guys are lovely!

Chillifordays · 07/05/2019 08:21

@deadbutdelicious - that Easter egg is gone now, you don't have to worry about it anymore :)

VivaFrida · 07/05/2019 08:23

Hello! Bonjour! Good morning! Welcome all to

Star day SEVEN! Star

Congratulations to all who have lost and ROAR strength and ROAR awesomeness to those who are struggling... show the lard who is the BOSS! YOU are the boss!!

MummyBearBoo wow that's some news! I hope it all goes the way you wish for!

Hiya to Aussie Chillifordays! Welcome! I have been to Australia for my honeymoon a while ago - what a great place!

And Bulgaria cricket, that must be so interesting. I have never been... you must report back on the thread all about it!

Great frame of mind edwardson and I agree 1,800 kcal is not the end of the world in the slightest DeadButDelicious.

Well, first WI of the month for me and I have... maintained... STS!! Still 60 kg. First STS in 11 weeks. It's UNFAIR! I have been staying on plan & exercising too! Jesus, why do you hate me?

But seriously, looking at my graph there has been quite a steep curve down in the past few weeks so I don't mind if now it takes a little longer to get down to the next step.

I know I am doing all the right things, and I have all sorts of other signals telling me that I am going in the right direction, for instance now I am down to my "large size 8" jeans (they used to be roomy fitting and now they are on the fitted side but a few weeks ago I could not even put my hand in them...).

So I keep on keeping on!! Smile Smile Smile

KOKO my friends and have a good day! We can totally do this.

Congrats @MummyBearBoo!!

Love the graph @VivaFrida. I was only looking at my graph on ww app last night, I hadn't realised you could view a 6 monthly one so it was a bit of a revelation.
STS weeks are hard, especially when you have done all the right things. But it's not a gain, and it's probably, at least in part, due to exercise and muscle mass. I'm sure you will see a loss next week to make up for it!

cricketmum84 · 07/05/2019 09:02

Oh yes and Bulgaria! Very interesting indeed. It was DHs suggestion and then I found out a few friends had been and loved it. Looks like we will get a really good mix of things like waterparks and Spanish style resort but there's also some Greek ruins nearby that I really want to see and traditional Bulgarian markets. Nessebar is a beautiful old town and we can take a days boat trip out into the Black Sea. Really looking forward to it - even if I am a bit worried about the plane seatbelts!

cakeaddict · 07/05/2019 09:18

Morning all, weighed in this morning and... maintained. Given that I have not been entirely dedicated to the cause over the weekend, I'm happy with that and all ready to get back on track again today.

MummyBearBoo · 07/05/2019 09:21

I'm also 8st 13lb this morning which is 3lb lost!! So 2 bits of good news finally under 9st!!! Good luck to you all xx

snooksmcgee · 07/05/2019 09:59

My official weigh day was yesterday, and I was 16st 10lbs, so a 4lbs weight loss in my first week. I'm very pleased with that considering I have had a few functions and meals out to go to last week, but I made healthier choices than I normally would have.

My biggest achievement is that I haven't drank any alcohol or coffee at all.

Well done to everyone else on their weightlosses and good luck for the next week.

ImpossibleNovelty · 07/05/2019 10:49

Entirely deservedly I put on a pound since I last weighed in. Disappointing but am hoping some of it is water from the weekend’s carbs. Onwards and downwards. Hope everyone has a good day.

Sourdoughpizza · 07/05/2019 11:15

Hello can I join you?

Started May at 12 stone, 11 stone 9 today so loss of 5lbs.

This is down to cutting out daily desserts (like a whole tub of icecream!), swapped for a chopped apple heated in microwave with sprinkled cinammon and natural yoghurt, replacing toast with avocado, celery or carrots, salad with quinoa and protein for lunch not a sandwich, and making own dinners not ready meals and adding greens. Lots of fluid and vit c while I come off sugar. Taking a daily probiotic to get good bacteria back.

I don't really have a goal for May, if I make goals I get obsessed with reducing calorie intake but maintaining healthy balanced diet overall is my aim. Good luck for May everyone!

RulesForResults · 07/05/2019 11:41

Hi can I join? Just got back from long weekend and my next target date isn't til July so that's a good amount of time to make a dent in my weight loss.

Just need a bit of company along the way as I'm crap on my own!

shoelace88 · 07/05/2019 12:44

Welcome to all the new people! I also want to send some extra positive vibes to those who are struggling. Weight loss is such a difficult journey full of ups and downs. Be kind to yourself, yesterday is a gone pecan, so concentrate on kicking butt today!

I was a little snacky yesterday. I blame it on my period and the fact that I'm super sore still. Today is a brand new day!

Breakfast: Golean cereal
Lunch: parfait and avocado toast
Dinner: shrimp sheet pan and vegetables
Snacks: TBD
Workout: fitness blender on YouTube

Hope everyone takes some time to appreciate themselves today. Everyone here is capable and is doing super hero things! Y'all got this shit‼💪💪
