Carrying on from the March thread (but all new joiners welcome), a fresh slate for April!

Please join me - all plans welcome (calorie counters, weight watchers, citizens of slimming world, intermittent fasters, eating-only-blue-food eaters). Here to support each other and aim to lose 7 pounds, or 3 kgs.

My starting weight for April is 65.1 pounds and getting to 62-ish or just under by the end of the month would be great.

Who is in?

Day 3 today and pleased to report that I'm a tiny bit my calorie goal of 1324. Yay! But I'm angry as hell 🙈
Breakfast was 2 scrambled eggs with tomato, chilli and kale
Snack before gym - 2 oatcakes with tuna
Lunch - turkey stuffed half a pepper with green veg
Snack - 40 cal Options hot choc (😬)
Dinner - 1 and a 1/2 Chicken breast with veg.
I also did 45mins in the gym, rowing and c25k.
Very happy I've stuck to it and I've lost 3lbs already but I keep thinking of white carbs and chocolate and sweets..... 😍

Nicecupofcoco · 03/04/2019 21:43

Hi can I join too? Hope its not too late, I've been trying for a while but only lost a pound!
I like the idea of setting a month to loose the weight, having a deadline might help keep me more motivated!
Good luck guys

Chocolatepeanuts · 03/04/2019 22:33

Well day 1 and 2 went great for me. Today was a right off starting with a chocolate biscuit at wkrk which turned into 5.5! Then some apple tart and some crisps before dinner. This is my downfall . I cant stop one biscuit. One biscuit ruins ny entire day. I did make it to the gym though! Anyone any tips or ideas on how to overcome this guilty binging?

didireallysaythat · 03/04/2019 22:43

Late to the party but my I join you? I want to weight 10 stone something this year, not 11 stone something. I'm not sure I want it enough but I've started writing everything down. As bad an idea as it maybe, I think I need to weigh every day to understand what normal fluctuations are and to spot when I'm starting to lose the plot.

So I'm following a loose version of SW. Exercise is my downfall - today I managed 3500 steps as I drive to work (no options), and had meetings 10-5 including salad for lunch during a mtg. Crap really!

Mamimawr · 04/04/2019 07:07

Chocolatepeanuts You sound very similar to me!! I was so pleased that the biscuits in work finished yesterday. Just knowing that they were in the kitchen was driving me crazy!

I had an ok day yesterday (only because someone else ate the biscuits!). I had a SW soup for lunch and an omlette for tea with the last bit of a chocolate orange for syns.

Good luck with day 4 everyone!

HouseHelp2019 · 04/04/2019 07:26

Just checking in. I only managed one gym session yesterday but I hope to get there again today.

Eating wise, I had some chocolate orange but stayed nice under my calorie target.

GottaGetUp · 04/04/2019 09:11

Thanks for all the birthday wishes 😊

Right, I’ve weighed this morning and I’m 70.3kg, which is the heaviest I’ve been in about 3 years ☹️ I’ve trying to do something about it for the last six months, but not very sensibly, and it’s always just lead to binging and further weight gain. So I’m not going to do anything drastic, just cut out the cakes and biscuits. Which starts with resisting left over birthday cake! Eesh.

aweedropofsancerre · 04/04/2019 09:13

I don’t feel I have fully committed yet.... did watch what I ate yesterday and stopped drinking wine. But I know to really start making a difference I need to change diet and exercise at the same time. So need to refocus my mind!

VivaFrida · 04/04/2019 10:02

Welcome to all new joiners! Well done to those who are doing well and encouragement to those who are still finding their feet!

GottaGetUp that was exactly my weight on 27 February and on 31 March I was 65.1kg after keeping on keeping on with the March thread crowd. Don't get sad, it can be done and it's amazing the difference a few weeks make.

didireallysaythat do you have small children or could you do some workouts at home to up your exercise? I have been stuck in a hotel room for work in the past few days (going home today!) and youtube has been lifesaver. There is everything there, from Leslie Sansone's walk one mile, to full one hour+ to consume 1,000 calories. Also, could you exercise at weekends?

I am doing reasonably well considering that I am away from home. I get up early and try to do 1 hour workout before i start working, have brunch at the hotel and then a light dinner. Before going to bed I do a lighter low impact workout or yoga and so far I have managed to clock 12-16,000 steps per day. But I have to guesstimate quantities of food so basically fuck knows if I am going well, just managing or, in fact, overeating.

It does not help that my period is late so I do not know what the situation with my hormones is. Anyway, totally first world problems and I'll be home soon enough to measure my efforts in this week. I have really done my best, kept up exercise, drinking water and not eaten rubbish so the rest is in the hands of the gods, really.

Have a lovely DAY 4 everyone. First week nearly over. Just a small push and it's the weekend!

Thanks Viva, that’s just what I need to hear 🙂. Well done on your loss last month, very inspiring.

Unfortunately I have injured my Achilles tendon so can’t run at the moment, but I’m going to try and do some yoga daily.

DelphiMum · 04/04/2019 12:31

Well done @vivafrida. Being away from home is hard.

I’ve got some lurgy and it’s very rainy out so seems unlikely I’ll get out for my run today. Means watching my food intake is even more important...

whatthefoxsaid · 04/04/2019 13:45

Positive start to the month on here! It's not going so well for me, over the last 6 weeks I seem to keep losing and gaining 3lbs exactly, regardless of if I've been angelic or fallen off the wagon. I sometimes wonder if this is just the weight I'm supposed to be?! But I'm sure if I really really put my mind to it I could get lower. Currently lost in a box of maltesers sorry I'm stressed

GottaGetUp · 04/04/2019 16:07

A pp mentioned the evening danger zone, but mine is the 3-4pm slump. I am getting a serious low blood sugar wobble and I’m not sure what to do about it. Carrot sticks? Suck an almond or something? 😄

VivaFrida · 04/04/2019 17:07

GottaGetUp dust, anyone, dust?

What’s for dinner team?

ZsaZsaMc · 04/04/2019 18:10

I’m having a bad week this week! After 5 weeks of dieting I just wanted to lie on the sofa with some giant buttons - so I did! It’s a big family birthday at the weekend so I know I’ll be bad (and then have the wrong attitude.. hung for a sheep as well as a lamb etc etc)

Trying to keep it together tonight with some salmon fish cakes and vegetables. Smile

HouseHelp2019 · 04/04/2019 18:22

I’m not particularly hungry so I think I will just have a bag of wotsits and some wine. 😂

I’m determined tomorrow will be better than today.

Nicecupofcoco · 04/04/2019 18:36

Scrambled egg on toast! I'm calorie counting and I'm aiming for 1400 calories, on target today, but it is only day one! Grin

caruti33 · 04/04/2019 18:39

I'm having lamb steak with egg noodles and half a plate of veg. That should get me to just under my 1300 calorie goal for today.

Also managed 20mins Core class in the gym followed by 20mins on the cross trainer.

All I want to do is eat carbs, chocolate and drink gin but no - that's what got me here in the first place 🙈😂

harper30 · 04/04/2019 19:00

Going to a friends tonight for dinner who is doing keto so I think we're having lamb and cauliflower rice.
I'm under for calories again today but feel a bit light headed every now and then, think my body is freaking the fuck out about this change of circumstance 😂 no cake?? Where's the daily cake??

Slightly worried it's affecting my milk supply a bit but I think I'm hoping to stop breastfeeding by sort of May time anyway when she's nearly one and I can have my boobs back (so can DH)

GottaGetUp · 04/04/2019 19:34

Homemade chicken korma here, not the best, but I have resisted the birthday cake so I’m taking the day as a win. Just got to get DH to eat all the leftover cake so I am not tested again tomorrow 😄

didireallysaythat · 04/04/2019 21:35

@VivaFrida - alas I have no good excuses - they're 8 and 12. By the time I get home (6:15) and I've cooked etc it's 7:30 and I don't fancy driving 30+ minutes to a gym... Honestly I could talk myself out of most things. To lose weight it's mainly diet with me, and once I'm lighter I know I'll want to exercise... Managed 5500 steps today but only because I had to move buildings twice for meetings... I'm writing down what I'm eating but it's not exactly calorie controlled!

Mamimawr · 04/04/2019 22:19

Today went well. I had pasta for lunch and homemade vegtable soup for tea. Used about 10 syns.

Sarahlou63 · 04/04/2019 22:19

German volunteer made a lovely dinner - fried potatoes, bacon, eggs and onions with a side of spinach. Only had a fried egg* sandwich for the rest of the day and spent nearly two hours dragging rubbish onto a bonfire earlier so hopefully calorie deficit!

  • 8 chickens - we eat a LOT of eggs!
Rubusfruticosus · 04/04/2019 22:36

Today I've had a rasher of bacon, two eggs, homemade vegetable and lentil soup with two slices of bread, and some stewed Bramley apple and blackberries. Blackberries from last year are now finally all gone!
