Carrying on from the March thread (but all new joiners welcome), a fresh slate for April!

Please join me - all plans welcome (calorie counters, weight watchers, citizens of slimming world, intermittent fasters, eating-only-blue-food eaters). Here to support each other and aim to lose 7 pounds, or 3 kgs.

My starting weight for April is 65.1 pounds and getting to 62-ish or just under by the end of the month would be great.

Who is in?

So 2nd SW weigh in tonight and I lost 2.5 pounds. I had a few slip ups during the week so Im determined to start using my food journal properly and try to lose 3 this coming week. Im also looking at joining a 10 week beginners running course. Im not sure if I will be any good but I guess you don't know until you try.

DelphiMum · 05/04/2019 05:31

@mercuryrising BBC Couch to 5k running app is a great way to get in to running.

HouseHelp2019 · 05/04/2019 06:21

Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a good night. I have done a quick weigh in this morning and I’m down 1.6kgs to 107.3.

I’ve got a lot to lose and it’s all probably water weight but I’m taking it! Grin

VivaFrida · 05/04/2019 07:05

Good morning fellow lard destroyers!

Flash communication: in the four days I was away I lost 1.2kg (2.6 pounds). It's the first time I go away from home for work and I lose weight instead of putting it on. 😳🤩😎

weight lost since the start (27/2): 6.40kg. One stone and a tiny bit. Nearly half way for me. 💪🏽

I am staring to see and feel the difference in my body. The difference in my happiness, energy level and outlook is already enormous.

Will read back and comment later, it's school prep time now. Groan.

VivaFrida that’s brilliant!

Whilst I haven’t fully started on my exercise regime which I am today, stopping the daily wine tipple has already made a difference just to well being never mind weight loss which I haven’t checked and won’t until next week. Good Luck everyone

aweedropofsancerre · 05/04/2019 07:11

And wells don’t to you too HouseHelp2019 d

HouseHelp2019 · 05/04/2019 08:16

Well done as well Viva!

HouseHelp2019 · 05/04/2019 08:17

Thanks both!

AdventureTravelDreamer · 05/04/2019 08:20

Well done Viva that's fantastic! And everyone else on their losses Smile

Whatthefox try not to get disheartened. I am so similar to you, and if I remember correctly from the March thread I think we are very similar in weight and both have healthy BMI, which I am sure makes the weight loss much slower. I weigh daily and have been within calories (under 1200) every day except Weds when I shared a bottle of wine with DH. I have also done a Body Attack class, swam 1km and walked the dog every day. This morning I am 0.2lbs lighter than I was on 1st April, and on the 1st April I was 2lbs heavier than 31st March!! So I have essentially put weight on in the last week despite tracking everything. Last night I even weighed the sugar snaps, mange tout and asparagus I had with dinner. One day I weighed spinach leaves!!

To be fair the weighing of vegetables, salad etc at the moment is more because I want to track my fibre intake so need accurate veg intake figures. I ate 42g fibre yesterday which I am very chuffed with (aiming to hit the recommended 30g per day)

Anyway I am still going to keep on keeping on. Going to the gym this evening instead of the pub Halo and hope that I will see a sudden whoosh for my efforts, but not holding my breath!

My top tip for those starting out is to take measurements as well. At times when the weight isn't shifting it's always nice to see that sometimes the tape measure still is. I wish I had done it at the start!

snooze27 · 05/04/2019 09:02

Well done Viva!

Due to a slip up last week in weigh days, I'm going to migrate it across to Saturdays...

Had a very apathetic evening Wednesday resulting in papa johns finest (oh my goodness those marmite and cheese scrolls...)
BUT I ended up paying for it all night and most of yesterday feeling horribly sick and nauseous and a mouth drier than the Sahara desert...

Stayed on plan yesterday - mostly due to the nausea - well below my target, in fact I had to have some toast at midnight whilst writing a uni essay/case study otherwise myfitnesspal wouldn't let me complete my diary!

Did a cheeky interim weigh in today and not impressed with the numbers I saw..
A small contributing factor to the change to a Saturday weigh in!

Onwards and upwards - need to train my brain and remember how rough I felt after eating the pizza; pizza is NOT my friend..ConfusedBlush

Dhalandchips · 05/04/2019 09:42

Determined not to weigh myself more than once a week. 79.9kg on Wednesday...

Crazzzycat · 05/04/2019 11:55

Well done on that loss “VivaFrida”. It’s encouraging to see what’s possible when we put our minds to it!

I’ve been finding the past two days really hard going. I’ve been so close to blowing the diet multiple times on both days. only coming to my senses when the biscuits/ crisps etc were seconds away from entering my face 😬

Not sure what’s going on, probably stress, but really hope this constant thinking about food does not continue

glenthebattleostrich · 05/04/2019 13:04

Hello, I'm following the thread but need to post more!

I didn't do my food prep this week so feel like I'm on catch-up all the time with meals.

Did my measurements today, lost 3 inches. Weighed in at 13 stone 10 lb, so 2 off so far this month. Very pleased.

I'm off work for 2 weeks, on holiday for 1 of those so going to try to exercise daily and get another 3lb off before I go. Super strict week for me.

harper30 · 05/04/2019 13:44

Really can't resist weighing myself, I'm weak in all ways!!! Although having actually stuck to 5 days of not overeating and 1700 cal or less, I've gone from 84.2 to 81.9 so super happy even if half of that is water weight or whatever.
Well done others for losses!

DelphiMum · 05/04/2019 16:53

I went for a run!! And then ate 400cals if biscuits.. Hmm

NobodysDogsbody · 05/04/2019 18:16

Hello, 'weighing in' to join you!

Ok we are all different heights so weights are irrelevant but what the heck. I just weighed in at 11st7. Actually slightly relieved that I am now officially overweight as it will motivate me to do something about it. I have to lose 8lb. I would like to lose 28lb (is that 2 stone?) as that is what I weighed three years ago and works for my frame. It started with a carb heavy holiday I went on just under a year ago. I've had a male house guest for over a month and have been not thinking about food but have now just kicked them out, under fairly stressful circumstances. What I am looking forward to is planning some super delish meals and the feeling of having some energy again. I saw my hospital consultant in Jan and he said I need to lose weight too - its an annual thing and I really want to impress him! I also have to exercise more, I was diagnosed with a lung disease three years ago and have been happily making excuses since then - no more excuses time! Goals for April then...I think losing 4lb is realistic to start with. Do we get medals?GrinStar

NobodysDogsbody · 05/04/2019 18:22

Oh I've just seen this is a 7lb thread Smile. Ok I am upping the ante.

Dhalandchips · 05/04/2019 18:33

I had a seriously MASSIVE prawn salad for lunch, it was lush!

GottaGetUp · 05/04/2019 19:07

I have been slightly weak today as a friend brought in a final-day-at-uni carrot cake, but it was only a small slice and no icing and it was all wholesome looking so it can’t have been too bad 😄

But, importantly, it hasn’t led to further biscuits and giving up and ‘starting again tomorrow’, which I think is a result of this thread 😊

DH is making a veggie curry tonight, but I have turned down the usual Friday evening g&t...

sazzle27 · 06/04/2019 07:50

Bearing in mind this week has consisted of both a chinese and pizza takeaway.. I should be thankful this week has resulted in a loss, albeit a small one..

Am back to work this week rather than on placement, and although it's tiring shift work, it does bring some structure to my eating... as long as i take enough to keep me full!

Start weight: 94.2kg
Current weight: 92.1kg
Total loss in March: 1.7kg

Total loss in April: 0.4kg

sazzle27 · 06/04/2019 07:54

I've just found on myfitnesspal theres a weekly view for nutrients/macros...
So despite those two awful meals/days (I did my best to be honest and find the right items to calculate..even though i was disgusted with myself seeing it all written down)..

Over the course of the week the only nutrient I have gone over the recommended amount is protein! Under on sugar, and carbs, and 1g below average on the fat!

Perhaps not all is lost as i thought it was...
Although a quick scroll and i need to amend my statement - I am well over on the amount of salt allowed....

Steala · 06/04/2019 08:43

My week has been reasonable so far. Not perfect but less snacking and no bingeing. Inspired by PP, I'm going to try not to weigh until the end of the month to emphasise that this is a WOE, rather than constantly being on or off a diet. I usually weigh daily so it's a big change for me but I'm going to try to resist and see what the month brings.

Mamimawr · 06/04/2019 09:32

I weigh daily, I probably should try to only weigh once a week. This first week has gone quite well. I've been snacking on fruit and the biggest change I've made is I've changed were I park for work. I was parking near a shop - very tempting to buy snacks!!

Good luck for the weekend everyone!

VivaFrida · 06/04/2019 09:35

Thank you aweedropofsancerre , crazzycat, snooze27 , adventure & HouseHelp2019, for your kind words, congrats on your losses harper30 and glenthebattleostrich - both huge results, well done! - G'day to all and big WELCOME to the newbies!! You can do it!! Smile Smile Smile

Well done for upping the ante NobodysDogsbody and GottaGetUp for not losing the plot! Thought to AdventureTravelDreamer and Whatthefox - hopefully the weekend will give oyu a good whoosh and push in your desired direction... how much do you both still have to lose?

Prawns are my favourites Dhalandchips, what was in your salad?

Crazzzycat sorry to hear you are struggling - do you do exercise? Vigorous movement is a great stress buster and helps me forget about the food. I hope it passes soon , it is difficult when you leave 'the zone'.

Speaking of vigorous exercise... Does anybody exercises from vids from youtube? What are your favourites?

Mine are the circuit from Fitness Blender () and the jump workout from Lumowell () - the first one is about 32 mins without stretching and the second 28 including stretching and when I do both (which I aim to do when I have time) you can certainly feel I have worked hard.

Have a wonderful weekend, all Flowers Flowers Flowers
