Carrying on from the March thread (but all new joiners welcome), a fresh slate for April!

Please join me - all plans welcome (calorie counters, weight watchers, citizens of slimming world, intermittent fasters, eating-only-blue-food eaters). Here to support each other and aim to lose 7 pounds, or 3 kgs.

My starting weight for April is 65.1 pounds and getting to 62-ish or just under by the end of the month would be great.

Who is in?

I'll join please.
Between March 2017 and October 2018 I lost 5.5 stone, I put half a stone on over the Christmas holidays and have struggled to get it off again. I've lost a couple of pounds here and there then put them on again. I'm 9 stone 7lb this morning and I want to get back to 9 stone.

Rubusfruticosus · 02/04/2019 10:50

I'm currently 57kg, hoping to get down to 54kg this month or thereabouts.

spinningpenguin · 02/04/2019 10:52

Can I join? Currently 68kg, want to get to 58kg in next 6 months or so. I'm planning to cut the sugar out and eat less with upping my excersize (which is currently non existent...) My downfall are cakes, cheese and wine Blush

shakeapoo · 02/04/2019 11:09

I've had an exhausting few days with lots of tea and toast but going to start tracking properly tomorrow. Although had a great exercise class this morning so that has lessened the guilt a bit! I didn't weigh throughout March so I'm going to do the same this time and weigh on 1st May. I went from 10st 1lb to 9st 9lb in March and if I can do the same again and get down to 9st 3lb I would be so happy!! Good luck everyone 🙂

behindlocknumbernine You are of goddess proportion ShockShockShock I am in awe of you! You must be magnificent!! (I am 1.64 so on the other side of the spectrum).

Mamimawr don't blush about your weight, you are doing something about it, making positive changes and that's the most important thing. You have come to the right place. Welcome!

And welcome to all, newbies and oldies I wish I could reply to everyone, I am reading and enjoying all posts, but I am writing this from work so must be brief.

keenwasalad - I am also staying in a hotel at the moment! A lovely place but no gym! The way I am getting around this is by having a late, healthy but abundant breakfast (we start working at 11 on this job - like the POTUS!), the breakfast is a brunch, really, and it lasts me until the evening when I have instant porridge (made by moi, although I have read a thread about hotel kettles yesterday which makes me doubtful of my choices...) with a small banana and some berries. Before going to bed I'll do some exercise in my room, relaxing stuff, yoga type things.

Then in the morning I get up early to do one hour cardio workout on youtube, faff about and around 9.30 I have my brunch. This has worked for the first 2 days and I have 2 days to go and if I manage to finish this it would be the first time ever I have cracked going away without putting weight on - inshallah!!

Yesterday was good! Trying to walk for half an hour on my lunch break and I run 4x40 mins a week.

Keeping my food to 1,500 during the week with some wiggle room at weekends Grin

harper30 · 02/04/2019 12:00

Good day yesterday, actually managed to come in under my calorie goal for the first time in a million years!
Everyone else's calories seem much lower than my 1700 but because of the breastfeeding I think that's as low as I'm going to go for now.
How do people avoid compulsively weighing themselves every day??
It's so dangerous, this morning I was 83 on the nose (84.2 yesterday) but that could mean nothing. Must get away from the scales!
How often do you all tend to weigh in? Weekly?

spugzbunny · 02/04/2019 12:52

Hi, I would like to join please!

I have 4st to lose in total but would like to have lost 2 stone by end of July as I have a wedding. I've got no will power and lost 1lb in March. Sad

I have yoyo dieted all my life and have a terrible relationship with food. Ultimately I want to be healthy both physically and mentally for my daughter.

For this reason, I won't be following any particular plan as I want to learn to eat well and move more rather than follow a diet. I know it's cliche but this really needs to be a lifestyle change for me.

Checking in today at 14stone and 5ft2 Blush

DelphiMum · 02/04/2019 13:01

Can I join please?

I’m 166lbs and looking to reach 120lbs by the end of the year. DS 3years and DD 3months. I’m breastfeeding but it’s no match for my appetite!

I’m not having any more kids so I’m desperate to finally get to my goal weight and enjoy it. I’m running (nearly finished Couch 2 5k) and usually cycle commute but currently on mat leave.

My downfall is food, snacks, food and food.

spugzbunny · 02/04/2019 13:06

@sar302

Same! Same weight as well! I'm 13 months post baby and I can't kid myself any longer!

ZsaZsaMc · 02/04/2019 13:15

I’m so impressed with all of you doing something about it so soon after having a baby and when you are still breastfeeding. Round of applause!

StrugglingOn13 · 02/04/2019 13:17

@harper30 I got rid of the scales at my house and I now just weigh myself on a Saturday at the gym. Found myself getting a bit obsessed.

sar302 · 02/04/2019 13:20

@spugzbunny Sucks doesn't it! I keep referring to him as my "baby", except my "baby" is now running around shouting "DOG!!" at every one that passes.

Feels like if I don't sort it now, he'll be driving and off to uni, and I'll still be claiming it's "baby weight" Grin

DelphiMum · 02/04/2019 13:23

@zsazsamc

I couldn’t do anything after DC1 as I’d had a very physically traumatic birth. I think that’s made me so insistent on getting on with it since DC2.

MegBusset · 02/04/2019 13:27

Hello all! I posted a couple of times on the March thread - lost 3lbs and would like to lose the same in April which would put me at around 9st 4lb.

I'm not calorie counting but having a very light breakfast (porridge) and lunch (soup) with minimal snacks and a healthy dinner. Booze is my absolute downfall but hopefully I can drink a glass or two of wine a couple of times a week without doing too much damage.

Have been going swimming two or three times a week - I know not hugely impactful in terms of weight loss but the only form of exercise I really enjoy!

Started the month badly with a work night out yesterday - lots of fun but also lots of wine and food. No regrets though - got to be ok every once in a while!

chillychicken · 02/04/2019 13:44

Can I join please? I'm currently 59.5kg, down from 63kg in January. I'd like to be 58kg by the end of the month (actually, I'd like to be 56kg but I'm being realistic going on losses so far!)

I'm calorie counting, trying to find the ££ to sign up to James Smith Academy, but it's an expensive month for me so that might have to wait until next month!

I go to the gym 3 times a week but have a shoulder injury (and have just got over a knee injury) so progress there isn't really happening. I'm going to reduce my PT sessions down to twice a month whilst I recover as there isn't much I can do at the moment.

Nutrition wise, I'm trying to stick to 3 decent meals a day but if I want chocolate I'm going to have it. I don't drink 5 days a week and at the weekend I limit it. I'm away this weekend and I'm going to enjoy it!

My main goal is to have more energy and feel better when I look in the mirror. I feel bloated so often, that's what I want rid of. I hate my stomach but I know you can't spot reduce.

Oh and my baby is now 4 Grin. By the end of this year, I want to be happy with what faces me when I look in the mirror.

Crazzzycat · 02/04/2019 13:57

So many new people! I have a feeling it’s going to be a good month for all of us Smile

harper30, I weigh daily at the moment. I agree that it’s easy to become a bit obsessive with daily weighing, but my weight loss is a little erratic, so I feel I need it to stay focussed.

shakeapoo · 02/04/2019 14:21

@harper30 I got so sick of the scales and going up and down by a pound here and there I weighed myself on 1st March then put them away until 1st April. I'm sure it helped me not weighing all the time! Jan & Feb I lost 1lb and in March I lost 6lb. Now I'm not going to weigh until 1st May so we'll see if it works this month!

harper30 · 02/04/2019 16:21

@shakeapoo I like that idea, might try to do the same and not weigh again until the 1st of May. It will be hard though!

DelphiMum · 02/04/2019 19:49

I’m obsessed with the scales but it seems to motivate me I think

shakeapoo · 02/04/2019 19:50

@harper30 you can do it! I think we all have a good enough idea of whether we're doing well or not anyway. I knew I'd lost a bit but was pleasantly surprised by the 6lb - much more satisfying to see than 1lb lost!

HouseHelp2019 · 02/04/2019 20:30

Hello, I’d love to join please.

Currently at 108.9. I would love to be 105.9 by the end of the month!

GottaGetUp · 02/04/2019 20:33

Hello, I’d like to join please. I think I’m about 70kg but I’ll weigh tomorrow.

caruti33 · 02/04/2019 20:51

I'd also like to join too please!
I'm 5"2 and was 12 stone 7 yesterday. Heaviest I've ever been. 🙈 Currently using MFP and have a set goal of 1300 calories per day. Also going to the gym 4 times a week to do a combination of cardio and weights. Really need to keep at this and drop a few dress sizes by July 😬

50shadesofbeige · 02/04/2019 21:03

Hi all can I join please? This my millionth fifth weight loss thread but I need to stick to it this time! I’m starting at 11st 8lbs wanting to get to 8st 8lbs 🤞🏼 I have a gluten allergy anyway and v recently diagnosed dairy and egg allergy so I am hoping the fact I can’t eat creme eggs for lunch anymore will help... I’ve just bought a Fitbit and am going to stick to 3 meals a day and try and eat more intuitively. It’s my crazy yo yo binge mentality that has brought me here, I was 10st last May 😫
