Carrying on from the March thread (but all new joiners welcome), a fresh slate for April!

Please join me - all plans welcome (calorie counters, weight watchers, citizens of slimming world, intermittent fasters, eating-only-blue-food eaters). Here to support each other and aim to lose 7 pounds, or 3 kgs.

My starting weight for April is 65.1 pounds and getting to 62-ish or just under by the end of the month would be great.

Who is in?

AdventureTravelDreamer · 22/04/2019 22:11

Viva your posts are always so positive and motivational, they are lovely to read. I totally agree that eating healthy is a choice and not a chore and should be looked at in the same way as other self care activities.

I am pretty chuffed at getting straight back into it today. Had a veg omelette and salad for lunch, courgetti with quorn mince and veg bolognese plus a banana and a protein bar so about 850 calories. I have also drunk quite a lot of water (was feeling quite dehydrated after a combination of sunshine, travel and a week of too much alcohol!!!) Exercise wise it has been a lovely active and social day as I cycled to the gym with my DSis then swam 40 lengths in an outside pool, cycled home then met a friend to walk the dog for a lovely 5km walk along the river.

Back to work tomorrow so won't be enjoying the sunshine so was trying to make the most of the last day off work. Did do a quick shop too so that I know I have healthy food for work tomorrow!!

For those who have gained a little over the holiday weekend don't stress about it. I really think for healthy eating to be sustainable in the long term there has to be balance between looking after ourselves but also allowing ourselves occasions / days when we enjoy food without considering the calories!

AdventureTravelDreamer · 22/04/2019 22:15

gottagetup I feel for you with the injury. A lot of 2018 I was limited with activity as I had a frozen shoulder followed by gynae issues and I found it so frustrating! Hope it heals quickly and that you find something that you can do in the meantime!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 23/04/2019 08:19

Ok I need to be more on the ball. I am 74 days in.

I'm stuck at 10st 12lbs. I've been LAX on counting calories so really must step up my game. 8th may my target was to be 10st 8lbs

I must check in more regularly you guys really helped me before x

VivaFrida · 23/04/2019 08:58

GottaGetUp: new kitchen: ma-gni-fi-cent!! We truly need a new bathroom but we decided we are going to spend our (meagre) disposable income on going on holiday instead and we spent the Easter break repainting, fixing and changing the floor of our old and tired bathroom! It's not going to win any design awards but it's clean and functional ... and with the $$$ saved we are going away instead!

shoelace88 congrats for your loss!! A pound lost on holiday is a golden pound!!

AdventureTravelDreamer thank you for your kind words Smile! I feel so happy and calm at the moment. Fingers crossed it will last. And "I really think for healthy eating to be sustainable in the long term there has to be balance between looking after ourselves but also allowing ourselves occasions / days when we enjoy food without considering the calories!" total amen to that!!

funky you can do it! Totally!! We are here for you and your 8th May target is not impossible.

Ah, gosh, it's Tuesday. I have a crazy week. Full of deadlines. Thankfully except tomorrow when i am away (but not too far) working from home the test of the week chipping away at my to do list. I guess we are all on the same boat, buddies! Being working mums is an endurance sport!!

Anyway, just finished working out and now getting ready to start work at 9.30. But I'll try to check in daily this week, as funky says, it really helps.

I just wanted to take a second and thank y'all! Seriously, I've been trying to get back into my healthy lifestyle for a year in a half and I just couldn't. Now I know it was because I had no support. When you're on a transformation on your own it's easy to feel all alone and say f it. Now that I have a place where REAL people are going through similar things and can understand the struggle, I've been able to achieve my goal. Not just the weight loss, ive literally haven't even lost 5lbs, but working out again and loving my body enough to eat what it needs. Anywho, thank y'all! Y'all are awesome, everyone here is capable and is currently doing superhuman things!

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs
Lunch: almonds, fruits, & veggies
Dinner: salad
Workout: fitness blender on YouTube

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 23/04/2019 16:16

Morning all!

Nothing to report here. But hoping everyone has a good day!

GottaGetUp · 24/04/2019 10:02

Morning Frida and Funky Smile

67.9kg this morning. I know it’s only been a couple of days but wanted to check things were going in the right direction again, and they are, so phew 😄

67.3kg (3kg off in total) feels achievable by the end of the month, so just got to stick to it.

VivaFrida · 24/04/2019 18:11

GottaGetUp 0.6 kg in six days is very doable!! Sending you badass vibes!!

I did a stoopid thing today... I was coming back home after work, I had a healthy lunch and had many points left but wasn't hungry. I was thirsty. So I thought to use some of my points in a nice drink and found in the local supermarket a fresh orange juice machine, you know the one where the real oranges get squeezed and you get juice. Result! Or so I thought... when I pointed it... it was 6 points!! I'll eat an orange next time, cheaper and healthier and nil points!

Good afternoon everyone. I'm super busy with school work today so quick check in.

Workout: fitness blender = done
Breakfast: oatmeal with a banana & almond butter
Lunch: salad
Dinner: ground Turkey & sweet potatoes

I think I'm going to start measuring myself along with weighting in. I feel like I'm thinning out but the scale isn't showing it.

cricketmum84 · 24/04/2019 19:09

Evening all! Finished my second day in the new job and really enjoying it! The routine is helping me drink loads more water and we also have a free daily fruit delivery!

My new office is inside a city centre shopping centre which is lovely Cos I can pop to the shops on my lunch but also rather tempting with a Greggs right next to the door!

I've taken salads with gosh falafals the last couple of days and then a very healthy veggie tea, tonight's is baked squash with jerk seasoning and a green salad. Really hoping to see a decent loss this week!

AdventureTravelDreamer · 24/04/2019 19:26

Hello everyone, just popping by to keep me accountable! Have not had the most nutritious day today (3 mini malteser bunnies Blush) but I have managed to pull it back and have just done a calorie count and it is 1253 for the day so I am pleased with that. Just need to make sure there is no snacking now this evening!!

Shoelace what a lovely post and I totally agree the support definitely helps and makes it easier to keep my head in the right place!

cricketmum glad to hear the new job is going well. Just need to resist the call of the vegan sausage roll! In my head the fact they are vegan makes me think they are healthy which is obviously not the case!!!

cricketmum84 · 24/04/2019 20:15

Oh I flipping love those Malteser bunnies!

I might try one of the vegan rolls as a treat if I'm having a zero point tea one day. Know what you mean about thinking they are healthy but they are higher in ww points than the original sausage rolls!!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 25/04/2019 10:28

That's great cricket mum!

I have my second interview this afternoon..... I'm a bag of nerves

VivaFrida · 25/04/2019 11:03

funky best of luck - here is a comet full of chutzpa and motivation for you!! Star! The thread believes in you: if you get it HOORAY and if you don't get it it's their loss!! And keep believing that everything happens for a reason: I was interviewed for my dream job in August - let's call it organisation A, I got to second interview stage (2 people interviewed) and did not get it! As soon as I sat down to the second interview I felt they had decided already Sad - anyway I got a job with the organisation for which I am working for, let's call it organisation B, a job that is slightly less 'wow factor when you tell people' (don't give a monkey's about that, though) and paid less well (or marginally less shit, I work in the arts) and it was such a great thing happened to me as in organisation A they are restructuring and revolutionising the place, it would have involved a harsh daily commute, whereas in organisation B I get to travel according to my schedule, I work a lot from him and I feel I am really valued... it was very difficult at the time not getting the job (and it contributed to me putting weight on - I am such a stupid emotional eater) but now I am convinced it was truly for the best.

shoelace - yes, absolutely, I had this a while ago - scales were not budging but I could fit again into my old jeans - I hate taking measurements so I use old clothes as litmus test.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 25/04/2019 11:12

Thanks Viva that was super inspiring 😁

I shall try to be calm

VivaFrida · 25/04/2019 11:20

Right, what's happening in FridaLand I hear you ask. Not much except I have a writing deadline tomorrow so I am on here procrastinating ... this AM I did a monster workout: 1 hour hill programme on the x-trainer and a spin session (30 minutes) on the exercise bike from Youtube. Gosh, I melted on that one. I was 'glowing' buckets!!!

[ I did this class if you are interested to try: ]

Food today so far: porridge, yogurt and fruit (mini banana and blueberries). Not sure what I will have for lunch or dinner, I will conjure up something low in calories/points probably involving vegetables and tuna.

Ok, no more procrastinating!! Have a wonderful day, all.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 25/04/2019 17:32

I'm home!

Went well I think she showed me the office. Let me input an invoice to the bespoke programme

It's between me and one other I forgot to ask when she hope to have a decision.

Is it ok to email about an hour after leaving to ask the question??

VivaFrida · 25/04/2019 18:47

Of course it is Funky!!! Looks like you did well! Well done xxx

Sounds positive @FunkyBarnYardBroom!! Keeping everything crossed for you! Sorry I didn't get on in time to wish you good luck. Been a busy old day! Chilling out now with my quorn curry simmering away and a nice glass of red for a treat!
