Hi everyone

I have a lot of weight to lose and really really struggling. Have been on so many diets I have lost count and never seem to be able to stick to anything. I have realised that today it is exactly 8 weeks until I go on holiday and I had really wanted to lose weight and feel better about myself before then and suddenly it's coming round so quickly so I'm hoping that will help motivate me. Is anyone else interested in challenging themselves to lose as much as they can in that time??

xx

Down is down Krman

Breakfast was mixed berries. I had half a cup of homemade soup, a small bread roll for lunch and have just had salad with a chicken breast for tea. Did 30 mins on the cross trainer at the gym.

I enjoyed my tea but ate too fast and now also feel a bit sick oyster

bodgersmash · 02/04/2019 21:28

Well done everyone!

Had my first "bad" day today. Gone waaaaay over my calorie allowance with bread, bread and more bread. Will try to stick to below 800 calories tomorrow to balance it out.

Oysterbabe · 03/04/2019 06:46

Good luck Bodger. What's your menu today?

My gain is gone this morning 🙌 Now I have today and tomorrow to try and get a loss. I'm sticking with my one meal a day both days. Tonight is sausage, oven chips and veg, tomorrow spaghetti and meatballs with salad. Already on my first pint of sparkling water :)

Givemestrengthorgin · 03/04/2019 06:50

Can I join please if I'm not too late to the party? Need to lose at least a stone but hopefully around 1.5 stone. Started running again and being much more careful with my diet...hopefully it will pay off.

Oysterbabe · 03/04/2019 06:52

Yes no problem, what's your starting weight?

whothefuckhas5children · 03/04/2019 06:56

Oysterbabe Well done on getting rid of the gain. After staying the same from Thursday through to Sunday I ended up gaining on Monday (due to over indulging on mother’s day Hmm). Am hoping I’ve lost it by tomorrow.

Yesterday
Breakfast: overnight oats with yogurt and grapes
Lunch: pea and parsley soup
Dinner: omelette with onion, tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach
All delicious foods! Topped off with over 20,000 steps Shock!!

whothefuckhas5children · 03/04/2019 07:06

Today’s menu
B: overnight oats with grapes and mandarin
L: the rest of the pea and parsley soup (it’s really simple to make and delicious)
D: I think I’ll do something with fish. Maybe salmon, ginger, red pepper and onions with soy sauce. Always love that dish.

bodgersmash · 03/04/2019 07:45

Well done @Oysterbabe - how are you feeling with only one meal a day?

@whothefuckhas5children keep plugging away - you might all of a sudden get a big loss. I think hormones play a part, so perhaps it's to do with where you are in your cycle. If you're keeping up a calorie deficit it's got to come off sooner or later! Smile

My plan for today is to skip breakfast, overnight oats for lunch, apple for afternoon snack and then some kind of egg and salad dinner. Maybe omelette too actually.

Oysterbabe · 03/04/2019 07:57

Menus sound good.

I actually feel fine, I haven't found it hard at all. Fizzy water genuinely fills me up.

Givemestrengthorgin · 03/04/2019 09:20

14 stone 6 lbs. At my heaviest I was 15 stone 5lbs. But I'm tall so at my very slimmest when I got married I was still over 12 stone. So somewhere around 13 stone is my goal.

Treaclesweet · 03/04/2019 10:47

Weighed in this morning at 14: 7. So I've lost 4 pounds this week! Not as many as I was hoping for but I'm feeling good for it and I think my skin is looking better.

Need to try your fizzy water trick oyster rather than starving and pouting!

PhillipeFellope · 03/04/2019 10:57

Well done treacle that's awesome!

Oysterbabe · 03/04/2019 12:04

Well done Treacle! That's awesome.
I'll update the spreadsheet later.

My body is so fucking annoying. My rings are getting looser. I have enough fat on my stomach to create a whole new person and my body is like 'Hmm. I think I'll take some off the fingers'
Priorities FFS.

bodgersmash · 03/04/2019 15:02

@PhillipeFellope well done!

@Oysterbabe Grin my body seems to like taking it all off my boobs and then when I put it on it all goes on my arse.

3littlerabbits · 03/04/2019 17:33

At least you’re losing it somewhere, Oyster! I’m only a kilo down (not complaining, still a kilo) and no sign of any changes anywhere. My skin looks a bit better though so that’s something. I think my moods better too. My dh would say that wouldn’t be difficult 😁

Oysterbabe · 03/04/2019 19:30

I bought a dress and it arrived today. I absolutely love it but I reckon its a good 10lbs off fitting. I could have got the bigger size but I'm hoping that would be too big soon. So it'll hang in wardrobe taunting me until I can wear it.

BadSpellaSpellaSpella · 03/04/2019 19:44

Can I join? I actually started anyway last Sunday as I want to lose a stone by the summer. Just upping my exercise and staying say from processed foods as they make the difference for me. My husband's under strict instructions not to bring home cake (he does frequently)

Treaclesweet · 03/04/2019 20:50

Hi Badspella! I'm also struggling to reign in my partner, who bought my favourite biscuits today Hmm When I protested he said, "I didn't know you were on a diet, I thought you were fasting!". Angry

I bought a load of fizzy water today and I do think it's helped with the hunger. Have a friend coming to stay at the weekend so I'm going to try and prempt the backslide by doing a longer fast today and tomorrow.

I have a jumpsuit like that Oyster, it's a size too small and I really really want to wear it. I'm going to make it the background on my phone for inspiration.

bodgersmash · 04/04/2019 08:06

Meal plan for today:

Skip breakfast
Berries for mid morning snack
Puy lentil & feta salad for lunch
Scrambled eggs with thin bagel for dinner
Banana and custard for pudding to try to help with my sweet cravings

PhillipeFellope · 04/04/2019 08:17

Everyone's doing so well!!

I'm having mixed berries for breakfast, will have an apple for lunch and then we're going out for afternoon tea, planning on just having a couple of the sandwiches and maybe bringing the cakes home for DH.

I'll do 45 mins cardio rather than 30 to work off the two hours sat down!

And the probably a plain salad after. I went a bit mad last night and had a salad with a chicken breast, and some port salut and some chutney, not forgetting the table spoon of dressing. And I've felt terrible about it since!

bodger if I'm having a sweet craving I've been eating a date. Or having a mint humbug. Limit myself to 3 a day though or I'd fear for my guts Grin

whothefuckhas5children · 04/04/2019 09:07

Looks like everyone is doing well! Feel like I’m doing well too this week.

B: overnight oats with natural yogurt and grapes (love this breakfast!)
L: I think tomato soup today.
D: love the mention of the lentil and feta salad bodgersmash. Think I’ll do it with balsamic vinegar, feta cheese, fresh herbs, wilted spinach and plenty of black pepper.

Might swap dinner for lunch if I’m organized enough.

Tomorrow I’m away all day so will have to pack healthy food. The lentil salad would qualify. If it’s cold will also bring some soup to help keep warm as will be outside all day.

Oysterbabe · 04/04/2019 09:25

Morning! Menus sound good.
Fresh air for me until this evening when I'll have spaghetti, meatballs and salad.

PhillipeFellope · 04/04/2019 18:40

I wasn't too badly behaved this afternoon although I did have a glass of prosecco, a small slice of carrot cake and a trifle in a shot glass. Weirdly I feel bad for eating bread too. I've bloated out though so the dropping of carbs has almost definitely shown me that they do bad things to my innards. I've done a small plain salad for after the gym, will have a small amount of dressing on it and that's it.

Lentil and feta salad sounds delicious!!

whothefuckhas5children · 04/04/2019 19:23

phillipe just tucking into it now! Cooked them with parsley stalks, garlic, shallots and bay leaf (all discarded once the lentils were cooked). Then tossed balsamic vinegar, added feta, parsley, roasted butternut squash and spinach.
Only 326 calories per serving (although it’s so delicious I might end up having more than one serving! Grin)

PhillipeFellope · 04/04/2019 19:27

Mmmmm that's definitely going on my 'to make' list Grin
