Hi everyone

I have a lot of weight to lose and really really struggling. Have been on so many diets I have lost count and never seem to be able to stick to anything. I have realised that today it is exactly 8 weeks until I go on holiday and I had really wanted to lose weight and feel better about myself before then and suddenly it's coming round so quickly so I'm hoping that will help motivate me. Is anyone else interested in challenging themselves to lose as much as they can in that time??

xx

@deadparrot pleased to hear someone else will be up for another 8 weeks.

We'll all be goddesses by the time summer hits Grin

PhillipeFellope · 02/05/2019 09:27

Oysterbabe a very happy four year anniversary to you and dh! My four year wedding anniversary is on the 28th Grin
I should try my wedding dress on cause I'm not actually sure how much I weighed then, could wear it for when DH gets home from work that day Grin he'd be traumatised, the lady time he saw it was our wedding night when I was absolutely shit faced and just got into bed wearing it, he said he tried to get it off me so I didnt ruin it but it was like trying to undress a blancmange so he didn't bother in the end Grin

bodge I'm definitely glad you asked, YES! to another 8 weeks! It's been a real boost having you guys to tell and share with. And well done on your weight loss! That's so brilliant!

Oysterbabe · 04/05/2019 07:12

Glad I'm not the only one who was shit faced at their wedding. I remember the next morning saying goodbye to our guests and being in the verge of throwing up.

11st 2.8 this morning which is a loss for the week of 0.4lbs. Last week of the challenge and I need to lose 0.8lbs to hit my challenge goal. It's going to be tough with the bank holiday but I'll give it a go!

PhillipeFellope · 04/05/2019 07:36

Has anyone tried the halo top ice cream!? My (gym bunny, super slim, bikini fitness competition) sister introduced me to it! It's expensive but AMAZING!! 80 calories for a quarter of a tub! Of ice cream! I can recommend peanut butter cup Grin

You can do it oyster but even if not, we've got another 8 weeks!

I'm feeling slimmer slightly, my clothes are getting looser and I have something resembling a waist, sort of! I'm going to take DS down to my mother's shortly and weigh myself there.

Oysterbabe · 04/05/2019 07:53

I haven't tried it but I've heard good things!

Another 8 week challenge will take us to when I go on holiday. I want to be at goal by then, 10st 6. I think 10lbs is a bit of a big ask as it gets tough towards the end but I'm going to try. I might need to make some changes and be more strict.

bodgersmash · 04/05/2019 08:58

Little tip for anyone missing ice cream. Freeze a banana, then blend it with some Greek yogurt, a bit of honey and some cinnamon. Hits the spot for me.

Managed to buy something in a size 10 yesterday! Woohoo 🙌🏻

Currently 2lbs away from my goal for this challenge. And also, thank you @Oysterbabe as your post about running at the weekend has inspired me to get back out and I've done week one of couch to 5k this week. Small steps Smile

deadparrot · 04/05/2019 09:10

Great ice cream tips! My ice cream preference is carte dor light 35 cals per scoop with a big bowl of defrosted berries.
Down to 11’3 this morning Smile

Greenyogagirl · 04/05/2019 13:36

Can I join please, I’m late to the party but have 5 stone to lose

Oysterbabe · 04/05/2019 14:13

We'll be starting a new 8 week challenge next week yogagirl and you're welcome to join.

Greenyogagirl · 04/05/2019 14:25

Thank you

Oysterbabe · 05/05/2019 10:05

Ran 5k this morning, pace was a little faster than last week. I feel great! My plan is to gradually build up to 10 miles for my long run then stick at that and do it every week so that I feel super comfortable doing it and also do a couple of 5ks in the week. Running in the week will be the challenge, I'll have to try and drag myself out once the kids are in bed.

deadparrot · 05/05/2019 10:31

Well done Oyster - btw I have only just got your name Grin I’ve done my gym class this am, some gentle stretches with a bit of hardcore ashtanga. My sat night splurge consisted of 1 glass of wine and 2 balls of ice cream - still on track! Keep it up everyone! And welcome greenyogagirl

PhillipeFellope · 08/05/2019 09:54

How's everyone doing!? I'm down to 10,3. Had a couple of glasses of prosecco over the weekend and then had a load of cheese and some ice cream. Yesterday was a bad day because with one thing and another I ended up not having anything to eat till 7pm and then eating 1000 calories in the space of an hour.

Back on it today! I'm thinking poached eggs and avocado for lunch on a wrap and then salad for tea with chicken.

deadparrot · 08/05/2019 10:19

1000 cals in an hour! PhillipeFellope! I can relate! I didn't have lunch till 4.00 yesterday and then somehow managed to cram in my whole day's calories and then some between then and bedtime. Plus went for a drink, managed to eke out a pint over the whole evening but it's not in the rules. So today I'm back into planning a bit. Your lunch sounds lovely. I'm getting sick to death of skinless cold chicken but it does the job. I've started roasting veg whenever I have a spare minute and making lovely big salads with goodies like puy lentils that I'd never have bothered putting in before. It is lovely but sometimes I just fancy a cheese sarnie... or a doughnut!

PhillipeFellope · 08/05/2019 12:28

Preach deadparrot I've discovered roasted pepper and onion in Bulgar wheat (with chicken stick cube) and its delicious! I've been putting smoked paprika and herbs on my chicken too. It adds about 24 calories but it's so worth it Grin

The faff of weighing and chopping salad is getting on my nerves top but that's only because I've not been to the gym (sister is injuso we can't go) and I'm feeling fluffy. I'm just in one of those moods where I want to make a nest in the couch, binge watch kardashians and eat shite Grin

deadparrot · 08/05/2019 17:18

Phillippe need to find a new activity to replace eating shite I suppose... any ideas anyone? Just had to share that having thought I'd plateau'd I just found that I've lost another 2lb. But then I celebrated by eating a flapjack. Doh.

VivaFrida · 08/05/2019 18:02

Hi there gang! My weight is still going down but painfully slow this week - 59.8kg - my target for May 22 (end of the 8 week challenge for me) was 59kg - to get things moving I have decided to cut on the sugarfree chocolate, which, together with the fact I have started running again, should hopefully help.

Come on everyone, last push of the challenge!! Smile

bodgersmash · 08/05/2019 22:56

Hi all 👋🏻

Well done everyone, let's keep on keeping on! I managed to buy jeans today in a size 10! I've not been a size 10 in YEARS. Could well be vanity sizing but I'm taking the little victory.

Weight is static but I wasn't great over the three day weekend. Will update weight chart on Friday after four days of being good again.

How long do we have left - 10 days? I've got 3 pounds to shift to reach target I think.

VivaFrida · 09/05/2019 09:18

59.3kg this morning - 300 gr to achieving the weight loss I planned at the start of the 8 weeks challenge and 3.3kg to go to my final goal (56kg)!
So so close...

VivaFrida · 09/05/2019 09:20

bodgersmash another good fake ice cream is frozen strawberries blended with fat free sugarfree vanilla yogurt (or greek yogurt and honey if you prefer) - not that with this FREEZING weather we are eating ice cream...

PhillipeFellope · 09/05/2019 10:11

bodge that's BRILLIANT! what an achievement! And Viva too!! Well done! I'm so pleased for us all! It's been such a bonus having you guys to share with! Looking forward to the next 8 weeks with you all too!

I'd sort of lost my diet mojo at the beginning of the week, culmination of a really stressful event which has meant my sister and I have had to change gyms and my sister being injured. But we've joined a different gym, I'm back on it today. Had weetabix and an apple for breakfast. I'm trying to have more (low GI) carbs earlier on in the day to see if it does anything for my energy levels.

Let's keep going guys! We can do it!

VivaFrida · 09/05/2019 10:31

Thank you PhillipeFellope - I absolutely second that, this thread and the monthly one have been absolutely vital to keeping in track, seeing how we are all doing our best to find a healthy, sustainable way to lose weight and keep it off!!

Oysterbabe · 09/05/2019 13:00

Well done on the successes! It's great that we're all inching closer to where we want to be.

It's my last weigh in tomorrow and I'm optimistic that I've lost the 0.8lbs I need to hit my challenge target. I'm feeling great about OMAD, how well it's working and how easy I find it. I wish I'd started a year ago.

VivaFrida · 10/05/2019 07:35

What is OMAD please oyster?

Oysterbabe · 10/05/2019 08:50

One meal a day :) I do it Monday - Thursday then 3 meals with no snacks Friday - Sunday.

1.8lbs off this week making me 11st 1. So I've exceeded my challenge target by 1lb and lost 10.6lbs in total :)
I'm really pleased, I've lost 34lbs since having my youngest, 20 since starting OMAD at the start of March and have 9lbs to go until I'm healthy weight.
