As our old thread was almost full, here's a shiny new thread.
If there are any lurkers about, please do come and join us - we are a friendly, relaxed bunch. Although, hopefully not too relaxed as we need to see results
Summer is just around the corner, so let's do this...!

CatLady glad to see you back. You're quite similar to me. In theory I use mfp but I haven't updated it for a few days because I'm living off bloody salad and I just know when I've gone under my calorie target! Except today I had chicken for lunch and I've just some pitta bread, hummus and veg sticks for tea.

I have cheated and bought a bag of stir fry mix from marks with sauce. That'll be dinner for Monday and Tuesday.

hounds well done. That loss of inches is amazing.

Aurorie STS is a good result if you haven't been eating well. Hope your cold gets better soon.

StealthNinjaMum · 16/03/2019 18:32

whencanIsleepagain I agree that wellness and energy. Yesterday I dropped dd2s swimming kit at school as I'd left it at home in the morning. I realised as I'd got to the car afterwards that I had run from the school reception down the path to the car park. Only about 200 feet but I wasn't out of breath and I hadn't even realised I was doing it. I think I was just in such a good mood I sprinted without even thinking about it. The weight loss has contributed to a positive mood and exercise is just easier when you weigh less.

I find it interesting to think about why we put on weight and I think our lifestyles are just making it practically impossible to not be overweight. There are a few very lucky people who just know when they're hungry and when to stop eating and the rest of us are just lucky or very mindful to not put weight on.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 16/03/2019 19:36

When - that all sounds fab about your other goals and the big picture more generally. I’m so pleased you’re feeling positive. The Guardian article sounds really interesting. If it’s not behind a paywall I’ll try and dig it out and give the article a read! I also agree that so much unhealthy cr*p is marketed at us. It can also be really hard sometimes to get healthy food even if you want to (e.g. service stations if you travel a lot, or the canteen in my office literally does no healthy food...no salad, fruit or fresh vegetables. I take my own food in, or walk into town, but most people just eat the canteen food...).

SNM - that’s a great story! It must be so nice to suddenly be in a fit, healthy place and be able to do things like that when you couldn’t before Smile.

Well I haven’t been great on the food front as I have had horrendous nausea. I’ve tried to make as many good choices as possible though. I also forced myself to run 5k today. It took me AGES and I felt so sick, but at least I did it Smile.

Elmashbu · 17/03/2019 12:54

Well I have a few weeks now until our family holiday. Will be in the water with my toddler most of the time so have bought a few lovely bodysculpt cossies from the Asda. Do I treat myself to a spray tan before we go tho that is the question?

Well done to all keeping on. X

WhenCanISleepAgain · 17/03/2019 15:13

Thanks Stealth and Gruffalos. Wonderful to hear you’re enjoying more energy and I’m looking forward to that being me more and more. I think what I recognised is that this is about more than the number on the scale for me and I feel better all round when I’m healthier.

I’m feeling great today because a friend commented that I’m looking well and that she can see I’ve lost weight! No one else has commented and my weight loss has been stalled or s-l-o-w this past months so it’s a real boost!

I’s say treat yourself Elmashbu if it’ll help you enjoy the holiday and the pool/sea more.

Well done on the run gruffalos and especially when struggling with nausea.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 17/03/2019 20:54

Definitely treat yourself Elmashbu!

That’s brilliant When. What a boost! I think people noticing has to be the biggest motivator Smile. Hope you’re feeling good now Smile.

StealthNinjaMum · 17/03/2019 23:09

Elmashbu yes to a spray tan. I was thinking of getting one in case any man ever sees me naked again (to improve my flabby stomach) but then I'd have to maintain it so maybe I'll just keep the light off.

Gruffalos I couldn't run 5K and I'm at my fittest! That's such an achievement.

WhenCan that's so lovely that your friend noticed. As Gruffalos says it is a big motivator.

Fiontar649 · 18/03/2019 11:52

Lazy bank holiday here today. DH is still away so I am pottering around, watching crap TV, doing laundry. I have tried on my clothes, have a massive pile for the charity shop. I need new gear. I used to work in high street retail in my 20s and I loved clothes. I had no money to spend on them, but I had an eye for what suited me, unusual prints and style. I still have a few "funky" bits but most of it is frump. So my summer goal is to love my clothes again. Which is an extension of caring about myself enough to want to wear nice things.

Cat - you are in the zone... once you get into the right headspace, it really makes a difference.

Hounds - you are shrinking - that's an amazing difference.

Aurorie - hope you are feeling better. A STS is a great result when you're not on form.

When - thanks for sharing that info, I am getting more interested in overall well-being. It's all related, I don't think I eat well while I am not happy generally, but eating better improves my mood.... it's a cycle I need to acknowledge and work on.

Also a big woooooo-hoooooo to your friend noticing your new slimness

SNM - I love that you were able to run without realising - that's going on my goal list! Similarly, Gruffalo I am genuinely so impressed by you running when you feel ill. Honestly - I wouldn't even attempt it.

Elmashbu - get the spray, paint your nails, work your new swimsuits! You'll be fab!

I hope I included everyone 🤗
Have a good day!

wizzler · 19/03/2019 06:15

Half a pound off.. so quite pleased ... am back where I was before my bingeing on lurpak ( other brands are available) and cake

Fiontar649 · 19/03/2019 08:01

Well done Wizzler
I lost a pound. Happy enough with that.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 19/03/2019 08:16

Well done wizzler and fiontar! I lost 0.8 lbs this week.

TheHoundsofLove · 19/03/2019 09:16

Well done Fiontar , wizzler and When .
I've been a bit half hearted the last few days... I think it's because we've still got several 'treats' lying around. In future, I'm going to ask my MIL not to send so much back as it's really not helpful for any of us. I can sometimes resist temptation, but definitely not when it's right under my nose day and night. It really affects DS too as he ends up eating too much rubbish and then picking at his dinners.

OP posts:
StealthNinjaMum · 19/03/2019 09:34

Good results wizzler, fiontar and whencan.

I lost 0.9lbs. I'm happy with that.

Hounds I can't have any treats in the house, I have no willpower. When I started dieting years ago I actually threw a few unopened boxes of chocolate that people gave me in the bin. It is so wasteful but it was what I needed to do.Now I take them to foodbanks.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 19/03/2019 10:02

Well done stealth and I also find treats very hard to resist hounds.

TheHoundsofLove · 19/03/2019 10:18

I would have happily thrown away / got rid of it all Stealth , but couldn't as Ds knew about it all! I might ask Dh to take what's left to work with him tomorrow, though.

OP posts:
Aurorie11 · 19/03/2019 16:20

I've gone completely off plan and eaten everything in sight for last 4 days, put it down to being under the weather.
Trying to get back on it and get head in the right place

TheHoundsofLove · 20/03/2019 06:56

Aurorie Hope you managed to get back on track.
I have sent the rest of the goodies to work with Dh, so I'm back on it! I'm going for a run this morning - it's a beautiful blue sky here, so a perfect day for it. Then, I'm out for dinner with some friends this evening, so planning to have spinach soup for lunch.

OP posts:
Fiontar649 · 20/03/2019 08:03

That sounds like a good plan Hounds
We also send unwanted goodies to DH's work. They are like locusts in there.

Aurorie11 - you will get back on track, you just need to get 1 full day under your belt. That's the hardest part!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 20/03/2019 08:43

Well done Hounds! I’m celebrating another 0.8lbs lost which takes me to bang on BMI 30! I’m about the cross the line back into overweight!
You can get back on track aurorie as Fiontar says.
Early start for me and I’ve now arrived at my destination and am sat in a cafe ignoring all the treats that I find hard to resist, eating Bircher muesli for breakfast Halo

StealthNinjaMum · 20/03/2019 12:00

Aurorie we all have bad days weeks. As Fiontar said get one day done and it'll get easier.

WhencanIsleepagain that's amazing. So good to know that ultimately your health will be better (and you'll look good too).

WhenCanISleepAgain · 20/03/2019 13:57

Thanks Stealth! Hope you’re having a good day.

mrbob · 20/03/2019 21:19

aurorie go for a good day :) I think just draw a line and back to it is the key. I went to a wedding and was not great but decided as soon as I stepped back on the plane home that was that and it seemed to work.

Ps I am now Grenada :) 10kg to go!

WhenCanISleepAgain · 21/03/2019 06:27

Well done Bob! I’m now Jamaica! Lost another 0.6lbs this morning.

StealthNinjaMum · 21/03/2019 13:58

Well done whencan. Sorry I can't remember from the other thread but does this bring you into another stone or milestone? I had a feeling it was a significant weightloss.

I have lost .2lbs since Tuesday. Go me!

Lunch was a tuna sandwich at the gym after my session.

I am North Korea but think I was last week.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 21/03/2019 16:07

Thanks Stealth! It takes me to a BMI of 29.8 and so out of obese and in to overweight! It also means I’m about to cross in to 13 stone something (currently 14 st 0.4 lbs). I’ve not had such a good day food wise today though.
Well done to you too!
