As our old thread was almost full, here's a shiny new thread.
If there are any lurkers about, please do come and join us - we are a friendly, relaxed bunch. Although, hopefully not too relaxed as we need to see results
Summer is just around the corner, so let's do this...!

Well done Carrot !
I decided on my goal as I think it'll probably be the point at which I will feel happy with myself, but still be able to enjoy life. My husband is a classically trained chef, so we're real foodies and winies and good food is one of our greatest pleasures. I probably could get down to what I used to be, but life would be dull and that isn't what I want.

Can I join pretty please?

Been on every fad diet possible over the years, nothing worked. I have crohns and 4 years ago got an ileostomy. Have also piled on 4 st in those 4 years since I can eat again!

So now I’m just eating healthy, cutting down portion sizes and exercising. Just did day 3 of couch to 5k, and feeling awesome.

First weight in day tomorrow, wish me luck

Ilikeyourbeard · 24/05/2019 13:12

Oh yeah sorry I’m 32, 5ft 7 and 14.7st. Target is 11st. I was 10.8st once and looked positively ill! I also have massive tits that I think weigh at least half a stone each! Also actively TTC

TheHoundsofLove · 24/05/2019 14:11

Welcome likeyourbeard ! I did C25K a couple of years ago and can't recommend it highly enough - it's brilliant and I'm totally hooked on running now! Good luck with your weigh-in tomorrow.
I did my usual Bootcamp this morning - it was a hard one, so I'm expecting to really ache tomorrow. I reckon I've got to have earnt wine tonight, though! this is why I am making slow progress

StealthNinjaMum · 25/05/2019 23:42

Welcome likeyourbeard I hope your weigh in went well.

whdn did you start doing the diet? How are you finding it?

Fiontar649 · 26/05/2019 11:48

peeps round door

Hello all!

I am back! Work is still horrible, but it is easing off. I have had a bad week/10 days of eating - including a work conference abroad and a week of grabbing crap stuff to eat quickly.

But I went to the event/ball last night, that I was telling you have about weeks ago. We had a great time, and I was really pleased with my dress etc. Granted I could have been a stone lighter, but I was just looking at some pics vs last year's and I can see a big change.

Hope you are all well 🤗

WhenCanISleepAgain · 27/05/2019 10:44

So glad you enjoyed the ball Fiontar and that all your hard work paid off 💃
Hi Ilikeyourbeard! I re-started C25K this morning. I did it in November but on a treadmill and have never been able to make the leap to running outdoors. Decided I needed to go back to the very beginning so I can build up again but outdoors. Felt great to run in the park but it was only day one so I may be less enthusiastic in two days.

TheHoundsofLove · 27/05/2019 12:04

Did you get a new dress for it Fiontar ? I'm so glad that you had a lovely time.
Well done for getting going again When ! I think the key is just to make yourself go until you reach a point when it becomes routine. I love running outdoors and would be really bored on a treadmill - I go through fields, along a river, through pretty little villages and get to see so much wildlife. Plus, it lessens the pain as there's more to distract! Grin

Fiontar649 · 27/05/2019 20:34

I did get a new dress. It took me ages to find anything nice, but I was happy in the end.

I am still not running - but I think it is a great activity, you can do it anywhere!

StealthNinjaMum · 01/06/2019 08:37

fiontar how lovely to have an occasion to dress up for. Will you be going next year? Just think how fantastic you'll look.

I have also been buying new clothes. It is early days still but I have met a lovely man and he is so positive about my figure and clothes.

CarrotPuff · 04/06/2019 14:34

I'm glad you seeing someone who's boosting your self esteem Stealth, very happy for you?

Fiontar I bet you looked great. I've been buying some new clothes too, I've still got almost 2 st to target weight, but I'm already feeling more positive about myself.

How is everyone else doing? I had my mum over the last week and ate way more than I usually do. However, was pleasantly surprised that I've only put on a lb! I still lost 3lbs that I've put on in April, so quite happy with that. Hoping for a bit more this month, it's a slow journey but in the right direction!

My shape has definitely changed due to all the running, stomach is flatter and my thighs firmer. Will probably need to sign up for another race after this one, to keep the motivation going!

CarrotPuff · 04/06/2019 14:34

There wasn't supposed to be a question mark...

StealthNinjaMum · 04/06/2019 14:43

carrot thanks for that. It's still early days so I don't know him that well. It it is so nice to have a man interested in me and he's lovely.

I'm glad you shape has changed, mine too. I have kept up the gym routine and am much more toned.

CarrotPuff · 08/06/2019 10:41

Back to 10.8 this morning and I'm actually on my period. I hope I'll see 10.7 at some point next week, especially as I should lose at least half a pound of fat after tomorrow's race 😄

TheHoundsofLove · 08/06/2019 21:08

Glad to see that you're both still plodding on with me Stealth and Carrot ! I've had a terrible couple of weeks due to yet more bank holidays, my son's birthday, several social events etc...but, I'm back on it and still determined! Grin
I'm glad that it's going well with your new man, Stealth - let us know if we need to buy hats! Grin
I've got my long run planned for tomorrow morning and will try to do 17km - it has been really hot here (up to 35 degrees some days), so running has been much harder. I think I probably just have to give myself a bit of time to acclimatise...

OP posts:
CarrotPuff · 09/06/2019 19:24

I find it really hard running in the heat, good luck Hounds!

I've ran a half marathon today! 2:26, very happy with that!

TheHoundsofLove · 10/06/2019 07:24

Well done Carrot - that's a great time.
I did my 17km. I took water with me and was slow, but I managed it fine so am hopefully starting to adjust to the heat.

OP posts:
CarrotPuff · 29/06/2019 21:23

How's everyone getting on? I've not really lost anything this month, but that's ok, hopefully with a bit of an effort I can resume weight loss next month.

CarrotPuff · 07/07/2019 10:13

Anyone still here? I've lost another lb and I'm 10.7 today, very pleased I reached that halfway point. Hoping I can lose another lb or two this month. Hope everyone is doing well.

TheHoundsofLove · 07/07/2019 18:28

Hi Carrot I'm still here!
I've not lost any weight this month, but have lost further inches. I'm still focused on my 40th next year and need to step it up a gear... not really sure how!?! I've really realised how much harder it is for me to lose weight these days... My husband has decided that he needs to lose a bit of weight and has lost half a bloody stone in the last 10 days... just by cutting down a bit and having a slightly smaller lunch! Envy I have to put so much effort in just to break even! It's not fair!

Hello carrot and hounds! Well done for keeping going. I’ve lost the plot for the last few months but am just back from holiday so am preparing to get back on the wagon. A bit nervous to weigh myself tomorrow or Monday...!

TheHoundsofLove · 28/07/2019 13:30

When - let's resurrect the thread and crack on for Christmas. We can still make a massive difference in time for 2020!
I've been doing pretty well, but am off to France tomorrow. We're camping, so will be doing lots of walking and outdoorsy stuff, but the cheese, red wine and patisseries are already calling me!

OP posts:
WhenCanISleepAgain · 28/07/2019 20:41

Enjoy France Hounds! Well done on keeping going and doing well. The holiday won’t make a massive dent, if it’s temporary and especially if you’re keeping active.

I weighed myself and I’ve stayed the same for the last month or so. My weight is up on the lowest I reached but I’m massively relieved not to have piled the whole lot back on again and I’m ready to get going again... Yes, this can still be the year for us to make a difference!

CarrotPuff · 08/08/2019 20:45

Enjoy holidays Hounds!

I'm still here, only lost 1lb in July, although the scales did briefly show 10.6, but then reverted to 10.7. We went camping last week and there was too much food consumed on regular basis, and I came back 3lbs heavier... 🐷 I know most of it is bloat, and it will go away after a week or two...

Didn't help that I haven't run for almost 3 weeks, but I got out tonight, yay! Only managed 2.5 miles and that felt super hard... but at least I'm back at it! Will attempt a park run this weekend, hopefully I won't get blown away 😄

HelenSmart · 10/08/2019 02:08

I hope no one minds me popping on...

I don't know if you remember me- I'm AFridgeTooFar, under a NC.

I don't know where to start!
