This morning I hit 16st I am so angry at myself as I worked hard to get down to 9st 10lb three years ago and I've messed it all up by mindlessly eating through boredom since leaving my ex.

So today I've dusted off my old mfp account and I'm starting again. I dont plan to eat diet crap just stick to my calories eating whatever fits in them and trying to walk more. Anyone want to join me?

Oh good god, I’ve just got to work and someone is off to McDonald’s with a huge order for everyone. My fruit salad now looks much less appealing, the smell is going to kill me! 😭

certainlymerry · 04/03/2019 12:53

What is diet chef like for those who have tried it? I lose weight most easily when I don’t need to think about it. I need a simple plan. Once I get into weighing food etc I just get frustrated. Diet clubs don’t work as I don’t like the approach or the sort of food they promote.
Low carbing worked really well in the part, but I am struggling to get into it. The thought of how long it will take is overwhelming.
I don’t like junk food and don’t snack. I just eat too much at meals I think. Also alcohol is adding far too many calories.

doodlyfiddly · 04/03/2019 13:25

Can I join you please? I hit the scales this morning at just over 13.5st, so have a good 2.5 stone to lose. I also did SW a few years ago (and lost that amount), but I can't face all that happy-clappyness again! Plus it's just not sustainable for me. I'm going to go down the low calorie/5 2 etc route, but need to prepare myself a bit more.

Vickibee, 👋🏻I have two autistic children. I sound like I'm bragging! I'm a carer for the older son. It's difficult sometimes.

Lemonsquinky · 04/03/2019 14:41

Feelingfullandreadytoclean · 04/03/2019 14:57

I lost weight with Slimming world, but then yo yo-d all over the place. I also lost weight 4 years ago after DS was born by not eating in the evenings and upping the exercise then evening out my eating in the day. Slimming world got me eating at night again. Not good.

So I will start by cutting out food in the evenings. We eat at 5.30 so no food after that.

I will up the exercise slowly as to not get disheartened.

I will sort out regular meals and healthier eating in the day time. I am a SAHM so I am around the kitchen a lot!

Will go out more now weather is hitting up. I am always a pig in the winter.

A summer body is made in the winter as they say. I want to loose this stone by the time I need to wear shorts again.

Slimming world has made me feel like I need to rush it and prove a point that I am loosing weight. I think I have stopped doing it for myself.

Good luck everyone.

heartshapedknob · 04/03/2019 16:28

Me please Gemma!

The key thing for me is consistency. It’s good to allow for special occasions and treats so you don’t decide that having a biscuit means the diet is failed and go completely off piste (or maybe that’s just me!)
Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter what method you use as long as it’s part of an overall lifestyle shift: low carb, SW, 5:2, weekly calorie allowances, daily calorie allowances, they’re all just a way of reducing calories in.

Iwilldoitthisyr40 · 04/03/2019 16:46

I will join you too. Signed up for WW online yesterday but will actually start tomorrow as I forgot it's pancake day for us today (hubby away with work tomorrow so we are doing it tonight).

I have at least 3 stone to lose.

I turn 40 this year and I am fed up of being fat. Have a holiday looming after the big 40 too, I can't face another camping holiday being too fat to get off the air bed!

I'm only small so don't carry the excess weight well, my lower joints are crying out for help

I have a weighted hula hoop, some resistance bands and some weights I plan on digging out too. Dodgy joints means my running days are well and truly over, no high impact activities and I can't bare swimming. So will be using the things I have and will try get some sort of home exercise routine going too!

CarrieBlu · 04/03/2019 16:49

Can I join? My weight hit 13 and a half stone this morning, I’m not blessed in the height department and it makes me larger than I have ever been before. I’m still breastfeeding my two children so struggle to get time to myself to exercise. So I’m going for increasing general activity levels, improving the type of foods I’m eating and monitoring myself on my fitness pal/my Fitbit. I need to make some positive changes.

CarrieBlu · 04/03/2019 16:50

Forgot to say, I want to lose at least 3 stone.

GemmaXOX · 04/03/2019 16:50

@heartshapedknob (love the name) & @Iwilldoitthisyr40* * and Welcome! I'll add you both to the list!

@Iwilldoitthisyr40 I was thinking about them weighted hula hoops are they any good? I really want to try it, I've just got visions of the hubby videoing me and making me a meme in our friendship group chat haha

VictoriaBun · 04/03/2019 16:56

I'm in waves !
I'm a yoyo dieter who is spent all her life fat or thin ( mostly fat !)
I can be a bit obsessive in either overeating/ binge /secret eating or dieting to extreme. I've been 15 stone 10 and 7stone 6 ! And everything in between . As I'm not going any more I can't be putting my body through these extremes. So here I am !

vickibee · 04/03/2019 17:15

Lemon
Don’t know about you but I never get any me time. His needs are all consuming and even though he is 12 he needs constant supervision. I would love to attend exercise classes but just can’t leave him
I am doing ok lost 6 pounds since mid February

seventy5days · 04/03/2019 17:27

Me too. I have around 30kgs to lose. Feeling overwhelmed by it all at the moment.

AloneLonelyLoner · 04/03/2019 17:30

Me me me me! I want to lose 2 stone. It's actually getting me really down and it becomes a vicious circle.

Iwilldoitthisyr40 · 04/03/2019 17:43

The weighted hula hoop will be amazing when I can actually keep it up around my waist my 10yr old is a very talented gymnast - she makes it look incredibly easy and laughs loads when her old mum gives it a go! I am determined to master it this year though!!

edgen2019 · 04/03/2019 17:46

I don't want to join Mumph just want to wish everyone success in their dieting.

Rolypolypie · 04/03/2019 17:56

Me too, please! 6 stone to lose here!

Mumphineasandferbmadea · 04/03/2019 18:26

Hi everyone just got back from work. Training today which meant plates of biscuits but managed to avoid by just drinking water everytime I was tempted. I boredom eat so I'm trying to keep myself busy. I'm also trying to get out of the one biscuit making me wreck all my hard work. I'm so good at self sabotaging. Hows everyone else's day been?

Weighted hoola hoop sounds like a great idea we live in a flat with limited storage but sure I could fit one of them behind the sofa.

Missed me to Gemma!

Happy to set up a tracking spreadsheet if I can figure out how to do one online.

So far had a good day. 3 meals, 2 snacks and 2.5 litres of water. Just enjoying a post tea brew. And will have another before bed.

Iwilldoitthisyr40 · 04/03/2019 18:59

The weighted hula hoop I have comes in sections and could in theory be taken apart for storage purposes. It also slides nicely under our sofa in the living room!

Just had my last piggy meal of meatballs with pasta and chocolate pancakes. Ready to get started now tomorrow.

Will update on the hula hoop session once I pluck up the courage to get on with it!!

Lizsmum · 04/03/2019 19:23

Please may I join too? I'm steadily putting on more and more weight and am now just over 14 and a half stone which is massively fat as I'm 5ft 2.
I think I'll have to count calories as that's the only way that I've lost in the past but I dont want to become obsessive.
